CHARACTER DESC:
Surge is a green tenrec who was brainwashed and turned into a cyborg by Dr. Starline. Surge possesses Sonic's indomitable and free spirit, albeit in a twisted and sinister way.Β She is a roguish speedster with an arrogant, cocky, and hot-tempered disposition, taking great pride in her prowess and bragging at any given opportunity.She is also fearless and bold, rarely showing any form of worry or concern, even in situations that are troublesome or possibly beyond her capabilities. When push comes to shove, however, she tends to give in to anger, causing her to become a more volatile force.
VOICE NOTES:
Surge was created not only to defeat Sonic but also to replace him in a way. I'd like her to have a voice that not only can portray her unstable personality and anger well, but also could, under different circumstances, actually sound like a stand-in for Sonic. Kind of like there's an optimistic freedom-loving spirit there, but it's been buried underneath loads of anger and trauma. I highly recommend watching the examples for this one. I cannot stress this enough, but Sarah Stiles'Β performance as Spinel is a great place to look for guidance here. With a little bit more constant rasp in her voice, she'd genuinely be the PERFECT Surge, in my opinion, so feel free to use her as a base if you were wondering what kind of voice I was thinking of! This doesn't mean that that's the only interpretation I'll accept though; if you have your own unique voice you'd like to try, by all means, go ahead!Β
