I was a fount of constant quotes and references throughout childhood (let's be honest, I still am), and my mother would often joke "Maybe one day you'll find your own voice!" Voice acting goes so much deeper than simply doing impressions and voices (though those are great and important too!), but my appreciation for the art began in my early years and has only grown along with me.
So far, I have provided my voicework for "The Wreckoning" haunted bus / maze attraction in Gilbert, AZ three years in a row. I had a lot of fun with this year's rendition (something of a spooky Humpty Dumpty / fairy tale take), which can be heard at the attraction once they open up for the season later this year.
I also have recently opened up a voice-acting specific TikTok (same name @DubbsyUbbsyVO) in order to broaden my reach and find more opportunities. As it was very recently opened, look forward to more voice-over auditions and fun clips as I continue to develop myself and my brand!
If you've made it this far, here's some more cheesy but sincere backstory for you, if you want it! :D
I have always had a passion for acting and bringing smiles to strangers and loved ones alike. From 6th grade all the way through the end of high school I got my ass on stage for theater productions as often as I could because I loved the feel of inhabiting and exploring new roles. Later in life, at college, I held a leadership role and frequently performed in the improv comedy group, which further served to outlet that performative, creative bug I've got in me. (I also met my wife at that improv group, which I suppose is only tangentially related, but fun!)
I've also been a gamer since my hands were big enough for a Sega Genesis controller (or the original gray brick gameboy - I still remember opening up that Pokemon Red bundle with my brother on Christmas!), and I'm certain the advent of voice acting in video-games has played no small role in the growth of my dream. That said, make no mistake, I would be ecstatic to do narration, instructional material, safety announcements, anything! I'm not setting all my eggs in the "video game VO" basket, but it felt worth mentioning their influence on my journey. Ultimately, I think I just like to hear my own voice and hope to convince other people too! ;)
