Charles, more commonly known as Chuck, is a respected scientist and the foster father for his nephew, Sonic The Hedgehog. Laid back and chill in demeanor, Chuck is a hedgehog who cares deeply for his only nephew and can be stern when needed. However he's quick to be hard on himself for his mistakes, often to a point far beyond what he should lay on his shoulders even when it's not his fault in the first place. Always willing to provide advice to Sonic, he is something of a father figure to his nephew. In a way he's also his moral guide, helping Sonic grow and develop as a person and a hero.

His voice should be warm, caring, and friendly, reflecting his role as a compassionate mentor and family figure. He remains calm and steady even in challenging situations, and his vocal range generally falls into the medium to low range.
