Korekiyo Shiguji, commonly referred to as Kiyo, is a character of Danganronpa: V3, and his title is the Ultimate Anthropologist.

Kiyo is quite often perceived as aloof and downright creepy by most, yet very intelligent, polite, and able to keep a cool head and calm mind. Thanks to his studies in anthropology, he's able to stay calm and composed in most dire situations and not get overly emotional, often seeing these stations as a time to observe how different people will react to these situations. During the Killing Game, he observes other students with great interest in seeing "what kind of beauty" they will display as humans under such dire and tense circumstances, seemingly not caring about their safety. Kiyo sometimes gets so absorbed in his anthropology studies it seems like he is not as interested or aware of those around him. Due to this behavior and intimidating appearance, he is often perceived as a disturbing and creepy person, though he attempts to reassure his classmates he doesn't mean any harm and merely wishes to observe them in their daily life. This doesn't mean he isn't able to experience panicked emotions, though.

KEY NOTE: As most DrV3 fans know, Kiyo in canon is written and heavily implied to have a more "intimate" relationship with his older sister. In this AU, however, this has been changed. While his backstory is mainly unchanged and Kiyo still is very fond of his older sister, he doesn't have any romantic or intimate feelings for her whatsoever.

Now, Korekiyo is quite the unique case as a remnant. Unlike his fellow classmates, he fell into despair DURING the tragedy, and not before. Junko was unable to manipulate him during their time at Hope's Peak, but never vowed to stop her plans when he began catching on what she was doing to him or her classmates, and taking this as another opportunity to observe his classmates more. However... when the tragedy really did begin to work, that's when Kiyo began to crack and fall into despair. Unlike before, Kiyo is now almost always in a stressed or panicky mood, as he attempts to try to preserve as many artifacts and records of humanity and history as he can. But in the end, most of them always get destroyed anyway, further plummeting him into despair. It doesn't help that he's always hearing the voice of his sister and Junko in his head 24/7, trying to sway him one way or the other. The poor guy can't ever get a moment of silence as the stress constantly swirls around his head... that is, until a fateful encounter with a few of the Future Foundation's members. Maybe he could enlist their help in saving humanity...? Or should he just watch it crumble down in the name of this intoxicating despair he just can't seem to escape from? Only time will tell.

  • (Sinister and creepy, yet somehow, honest and sincere) *low amused chuckle* "She is right, you know... This would be quite the opportunities time for an ambush by me and my fellow classmates. However, and luckily for you three... that is not my intentions with why I'm here..."

  • (Reminiscent and melancholy, somewhat diving into the brink of panic) "A-ah... sister, hm? It's natural to as about her. Yes, I do still hear her... ah, but I... desperately try not to. The others advise me it's distract me from hearing... Junko." *voice grows shaky.* "But now... NEITHER of them can ever give me a moments peace...!"

  • (A 15-30 second clip of a progressing despairing giggle/laugh!)
