The museum guards get hired over time as the museum grows and needs more protection. The guards basically roam about on various shifts and and have a wide range of random idle commentary towards the patrons, the player, or just thinking to themselves. They have a handful of general topics the player can inquire with them about and each voice type has the same selection of randomized lines.

There are so many displays it may take you a couple visits to take it all in. If you'd like lodgings, you can get a room at the Winking Skeever in town or the Wayward Rest boarding house right across the road.
Had a bit of a mess in the library. Some patrons failed to return the books to the book return and put them on the shelf, in the wrong places of course. Auryen had it sorted out pretty quickly though.
It's hard to imagine the Dwemer building so many amazing things and then just up and vanishing like that.
