thatonevoiceover for Dr. Wyllan Orn
Character Description:
-
Character Name: Dr. Wyllan Orn -
Gender: Male -
Age: 40-60 years -
Ethnicity: Black/African Descent
Character Background:
A man with a rich history, Dr. Orn is a lifelong friend of Titus Rook and a former soldier with a profound thirst for knowledge. Over the years, he evolved into a once-in-a-generation intellect, accumulating multiple honors and becoming an expert in various fields. Years ago, Dr. Orn attempted to prevent a catastrophic event, partially succeeding in averting the worst, but not without heavy losses. The cataclysm left the planet heavily damaged, and Titus Rook, his dear friend, suffered the loss of his only child and wife. Following the disaster, Dr. Orn secluded himself within the Sigma towers, dedicating years to finding a solution to the cataclysm's aftermath.
Five years later, Dr. Orn emerges from his isolation, unveiling his solution to the world. However, the general population fails to see beyond the surface of this creation, leading to scrutiny of both Dr. Orn and the Sigma organization for seemingly wasting five years and billions of resources.
In the opening cinematic, Dr. Orn makes a rare public appearance for an interview with the Interviewer, intending to recount the events leading up to the cataclysm. However, he is unexpectedly cut off by the Interviewer's leading questions. As the pressure mounts, his hand begins to tremble. Suddenly, a worldwide broadcast interrupts their segment and the sight he sees on screen restores his hope for humanity.
Despite his age, Dr. Orn maintains a muscular and strong physique, a testament to his unwavering discipline in both physical and mental pursuits. He is a compassionate individual who would readily give the shirt off his back and sacrifice himself to save others. The events of the past few years have briefly estranged him from Titus Rook, but they remain lifelong friends. Dr. Orn carries the heavy burden of accountability for the loss of Titus' family.
Dr. Orn also plays a father figure role to our main character and their handler, Rayna. He is a central character in the story, and the actor selected for this role should be prepared to commit to it for an extended period.
Audio Quality Requirements:
Project: Zeta has always set a high bar for our productions from art, to character models, our environments, music, etc. Our standard for quality extends especially to our voice actors. While we do have an audio engineer on staff, their focus needs to remain on AFX and sound design. For someone to be considered for this role, they will need excellent audio quality, and be able to send both a raw source and edited version of their audio.
Role Commitment:
This is a long-term role, and we are looking for a committed actor who can dedicate themselves to the character's development over the course of the series. Dr. Orn's role will evolve and become increasingly central to the storyline as the project unfolds.

[Context: Dr. Valerie is Dr. Orn's lab assistant. She has just given him an extinction level report, but he is maintaining his professional, calm composure.] “No… no, no. Doctor Valerie, It is precisely the lack of error on your report that gives me caution. Please, I’d like you to prepare another unbiased analysis for confirmation before I inform the council.”
[Context: Rayna is a coworker and is like a daughter to Dr. Orn. They’re socializing over drinks after a particularly difficult day at work. In a soft, somber tone, unlike his usual verbose voice, he says the following line giving off his steadying, shining smile, all the while fighting back weary tears of his own.] “Something I was told a lifetime ago, Rayna – always look to the stars before you cry. Somehow, the celestials bring our sorrows into perspective-”
[Context: Dr. Orn is conversing with Titus Rook confidentially in his lab after presenting to the Council. The news is dire, and Dr. Orn can be candid and open about his fears.] “I hope I made a promise I can keep. The odds aren’t in our favor here, and if I had a choice— I just don’t know, I wish we had more time.”
