Whirlpool is a royal scribe dead set on becoming king of the SeaWings, which he has to do through marriage. With no regard for her age or well being, Whirlpool wants to marry Princess Anemone to take the throne. By sucking up to Queen Coral whenever he can, as well as training the young SeaWing heir himself, he hopes to gain the Queen's favor and be allowed to do so. When Queen Coral learned of her husband's death, Whirlpool suggested she re-marry, likely hoping that he would be her choice. He has also attempted to kill the older SeaWing heir in order to assure Anemone (as well as himself) takes the throne. He is haughty, patronizing, selfish, slimy, creepy, devious, and a sycophant. He is described as having an "oozy, oily voice."
