The objective is not to sound like you are reading; you're supposed to be retelling a story. I expect you to edit your work.

  • Of what use was it to be loved and lose one's beauty and become Real if it all ended like this? And a tear, a real tear, trickled down his little shabby velvet nose and fell to the ground.

And then a strange thing happened. For where the tear had fallen a flower grew out of the ground, a mysterious flower, not at all like any that grew in the garden. It had slender green leaves the colour of emeralds, and in the centre of the leaves a blossom like a golden cup. It was so beautiful that the little Rabbit forgot to cry, and just lay there watching it. And presently the blossom opened, and out of it there stepped a fairy.

  • She was quite the loveliest fairy in the whole world. Her dress was of pearl and dew-drops, and there were flowers round her neck and in her hair, and her face was like the most perfect flower of all. And she came close to the little Rabbit and gathered him up in her arms and kissed him on his velveteen nose that was all damp from crying.

"Little Rabbit," she said, "don't you know who I am?

"The Rabbit looked up at her, and it seemed to him that he had seen her face before, but he couldn't think where.

  • "I am the nursery magic Fairy," she said. "I take care of all the playthings that the children have loved. When they are old and worn out and the children don't need them any more, then I come and take them away with me and turn them into Real."

"Wasn't I Real before?" asked the little Rabbit.

"You were Real to the Boy," the Fairy said, "because he loved you. Now you shall be Real to every one."

the amazing bologna

I got to admit, when I first saw this, I was pretty excited. I do enjoy kids books, but when my mother saw this, she showed me the book I was actually shook. I hope you enjoy this adaptation.

bedtime story broadcast

Just for fun, try a Vincent Price imitation. I think it could work for you.

I was shaken by the fact that this was a story told to me about a hundred times. And Vincent Price eh? Well, I don't think I have the capability at this time, But I'll give it a shot tomorrow.

      Oh, I see.

Unfortunately, I will be needing far much more time to nail the accent. I can get it down, but it's not refined. If you can give me a week, I will be able to do Vincent Price a bit better.

You do not need to. This is not the story for you, but I am not sure what would be yet - maybe if you tell me what you liked to read when you were younger. If you can get rid of that echo, we be happy to have you as a character actor. You have the best rendition of fairy so far.

            the amazing bologna

Well my favorite stories as a kid was Greek mythology and the three princes. But for the echo, it will be set up reconfiguration, but I'll see what I can do for you.

Give this a shot: Persephone, although she had been with King Pluto for six long months, had not eaten a mouthful of anything, but she was so happy at the thought of seeing her mother that she took the pomegranate from King Pluto and ate a part of it. Then she rode with King Pluto up to the earth again and started over the fields to Ceres. And, as she went, all along the path where she stepped the brown fields that had seen no verdure for so many months blossomed into violets, and the waving grain arose, and the orchards bent low with fruit. Poor Ceres was sitting on her doorstep holding her torch when, all at once, it flickered, and then went out altogether. "What is this?" she cried. "My torch must not go out until I find Persephone!" But just then Persephone ran straight into Mother Ceres' arms. [115] "My child, did you eat with King Pluto?" asked Ceres, after she had held Persephone close for a long time. "Only just six pomegranate seeds, mother," said Persephone. "Ah, Persephone," cried Ceres, "then, for each seed, you must spend one month of every year at King Pluto's palace, and I may have you only for the other six."
