Grimlord VR Open Casting Call
Richard Gibson for The Blacksmith
TheĀ Blacksmith is a former Lord of the Lonely Mountains and Castle Roar, previously dethroned and imprisoned by the tyrannical Grimlord. He is cynical, filled with anger and rage, and has lost not only his faith in himself, but his faith in the world and it's people. As the story progresses and the blacksmith gets to know the protagonist better, he slowly opens up, revealing a light hearted, almost comedic side to himself. He yearns for the downfall of the Grimlord and has a disposition towards doing good in the world, despite his cynicism and anger.
The Blacksmith is an old man with no particular accent in mind. His voice should be lower, gravelly, and it should sound as if an elderly man is speaking to the main character. As mentioned before, there should be a constant underlying tone of anger, cynicism or bitterness to his words. He is hateful to what the world has done to him, and his lines will reflect as much. He is motivated by his hatred of the Grimlord, and his predisposition to taking his rightful throne back.

You... I don't recognize you. Why is a nobody like you here?
If you see a slimy little goblin on your journey, remind him to come back here. Little shit's too fragile to make it on his own.
I have nothing to say to you until you've proven yourself. Show me your grit; that you're worthy of my time. Then... I'll whip something up for you.
