Age of the Ring: Lothlorien Elves
Moira Todd for Lórilinde - Lorien Tree Singer
Lórilinde [Loh-ri-lyn-deh, roll the R] - Golden Singer
The Lórien Tree-singer is the builder/worker. She summons up Elven structures (trees) through song and magic.
Accent: Received pronunciation
Mood: Kind, ethereal, full of wisdom, working in deference to the player, who in this case is the tree-singer’s ‘executive’, perhaps Lord Celeborn or Galadriel themselves. The Tree-singer has great respect for the natural world and treats it with wonder and reverence. Her voice is similar to other Elves we hear in the LotR films: she speaks with a slightly lowered pitch.
Please sing the melody of a verse of A Elbereth Gilthoniel, as heard in this video from 0:45 to 1:25 - https://youtu.be/6CfRJSKk2Ls?t=45
A Elbereth Gilthoniel
I Chin a Thul lin Miriel (Chin like a soft German sound, like in chutzpah)
Fanuilos le linnathon
Ne ndor haer thar i aearon (ae is like the word "I" , so "I - ah - ron" for the last)
Try your best with the pronunciation, it need not be perfect for the audition but we will want an authentic Elvish sound.
Spoken Lines:
- Blessings of Yavanna
- The Lady has charged me with your keeping, Hirilorn (referring to the tree)
- They bring fire and rot! (under attack)
Oh my goodness, this was very good. Well done.
