OMORI: BLACK BOOTH
peachrumpus for 9 - HEADSPACE BASIL
BASIL is depicted as a relatively shy and socially anxious boy, well seen right after being introduced to the friend group, being very insecure and fearing of being perceived as a burden. He enjoys taking pictures, as his memories with his friends are his most treasured belonging, perceiving them as a way to permanently capture the moment. He also enjoys taking care of flowers, art, and reading. Basil seems to develop strong emotional attachments to many of his possessions, mentioning "He will never throw away anything, no matter how worthless it is."
He's very sentimental, keeping memorabilia of his friends and happy memories through photos, and planting flowers that remind him of his friends, taking great care to plant flowers with flower language corresponding to how he sees his friends. His empathy stretches to his plants as well, showing a lot of worries when they're in danger of being hurt, and talking to them as he would with his friends. It is noted that he avoids conflict. He doesn't learn to battle, even after his friends nag him to.
HEADSPACE BASIL is a very soft-spoken character and his words should have a hint of anxiety behind them. Despite this, he should still have a cheerful persona.
BASIL is around 12-13 years old. His voice should be medium to high pitched, and he should not sound like an adult.
His REAL WORLD counterpart is BASIL.
"Yeah... There's something special about everyone living their own lives. Those are the moments I want to capture!" (Cheerful)
[A picture from BASIL's photo album falls onto the floor. As he picks it up to examine it, he realises what it is and tries to tell the others what is on it before he is cut off.]
"Hm? That's strange. A photo must have been loose. Huh? What is this? Did I take this photo? Something about it seems... so familiar. N-No...That can't be... MARI... She's..." (Increasingly anxious)
"Growing watermelons has been fun, but I really miss my flowers back at home... How are they doing? Did you take care of them while I was gone? Hehe..." (Completely unaware of what's about to happen)
Ough the way you say the "What's this?" line... I got chills!!
The shaky way you carry the anxiety under your tone the whole time???? SO GOOD !! Rooting for you!
