It started soon after humanity began terraforming Mars. Sometime in the early 2080s we sent a man to Mars. What we saw there wasn’t a surprise anymore. Most people in the 2000s or 2020s would’ve freaked out and mass hysteria would’ve taken people but no. By the 2080s we knew more about Mars than our own planet. Glaciers within Mars melted and some small reptiles had evolved to become the size of komodo dragons. 

The LizardFolk-Martian war was one of great sacrifice and injury. Billions died from chemical warfare and the anarchy that ensued. Martians eventually won and the Lizard Folk almost went extinct because Martians had something that the Lizard Folk didn’t. Blitzkrieg.

Then there were the aquatic creatures, many were created but few prospered more than the mermaid-like creature known as the Sirenalmide. These creatures often lured other animals with their song and killed them with their razor-sharp teeth or claws. They often killed small fish, dolphins, or squids. They were gender-neutral even though they had the appearance of a female with a large fin replacing their lower torso and legs. They provided offspring with an egg. These were one of the lucky ones compared to some of the other species.
