alexmitts for Rainier Williams
Rainier Williams (he/him, 22)
Antisocial and fairly awkward, Rainier Williams is a bright young man with big aspirations. Well...maybe not his own aspirations. Since his early childhood, Rainier's parents have pushed for him to pursue academics, to play instruments, and to partake in sports he never had an interest in. Being the cousin of Alistair and Amelia of the rich Pierce family, his life has always been comfortable, and even now, as a 22 year old Astrophysics Major, he is paid allowance by his wealthy mother. His attitude seems distant yet snarky, and no one can seem to figure this guy out. He's always got some witty and sassy remark to make, and if not that, he's correcting and criticising you on everything. Being the condescending smartass he is, Rainier Williams doesn't have any close friends because of his know-it-all personality, yet he's willing to let you talk to him about Annabelle without interrupting your every word. Ever since her death, he's been even more antisocial and rude. What significance does Annabelle's death hold to him, and why does he seem to have a soft spot for someone like you?
Rainier's voice is nasally and can be described as "dorky". He's the typical nerdy kid, but he's mature and independent despite this. Please record 3 takes per line.
[Jamie approaches him to ask about the book he's reading] “Oh, it’s just a study comparing the gravitational oscillations-- actually, nevermind, I don’t have time to explain this to some kid. Do you want something? I’m kind of busy.” [with a snarky and condescending tone]
"Okay, listen here, you- you- [he struggles to say it:] asshole- you have no right to make these demands of me! I am but a student who visits this place to get away from my bothersome roommate! So go screw yourself! ...I'm sorry, was that too harsh?-"
“Sorry, you really think I actually killed this random girl? I’m a bit busy here trying to, you know, pass the hardest class offered at the university. If you want some real suspects, maybe try talking to someone who’s actually seen this dead girl first. (short snarky chuckle) Some detective you are—I don’t even know what she looks like.”
