~Rise From The Ashes ~: Artists and Supporting VAs (ADDITIONAL ARTISTS STILL OPEN - More roles TBA)
Corbanator98 for Fetch
Summary: Fetch is...well, let’s say you don’t wanna piss him off or get on his bad side. Real name Chase Fetcher, mid forties, mercenary and kidnapper for hire - pay the right price and he’ll get the job done. No messing and no pleasantries. He isn’t above murder, but he doesn’t particularly like getting his hands dirty too often (although he has worked in the organ trade before so...yeah…). He’s fast, swift, practical and smart, taking time to assess, observe and plan out the mission before going after the target. He knows every trick up a captive’s sleeve and he knows how to 'settle them down', be it a sharp punch to the gut, a cold glare or a chilling threat that quickly calms a rebellious hostage right down. Respect is important to him and sass will be rewarded by either a slap or an especially uncomfortable gag. If the captive plays nice though, then he can be...nice enough, with little privileges gained for good behaviour. He does things for his own gain and never ‘stuff for free’, so it’s very conditional on his side. That being said, he has a slight secret softer spot for younger captives and even he has opinions of where the line shouldn't really be crossed - even experimenting on teenagers goes past his morals. He travels around with his accomplice, Erick. He may treat the boy like an annoyance and his personal punching bag at times, but he does listen to his advice on the odd occasion and deep down does...care for the boy in his own twisted way. But in short, he'll do pretty much anything for the right price - including going after the escaped 'patients' from the institute...
Note: Whilst Fetch can make some pretty dark and violent threats, they will NOT be carried through on screen (off-screen if at all)
Appearance: Arc I (Ch 9 onwards), Arc II (occasional appearances~)
Personality: Cold, Snarky, Sarcastic, Serious, Focused, Sadistic, Impatient, Cruel, Conditional, Manipulative, Selfish, Easily Angered and pretty Callous
Voice: Gruff and snappy with a low pitch. He often raises his voice and frequently uses quite derogatory language towards his captives or Erick, if the kid gets on his last nerve. He should sound gleefully sadistic when threatening or really getting into his 'work' and be able to growl, yell and bark out orders that will be obeyed no matter what. At other times he can sound pretty casual and almost eerily calm sometimes too.
Disclaimer: Fetch belongs to the super brilliant Maxy, co-director of the project. As such, they will be deciding who the final role goes to, so good luck~ Placeholder artwork also belongs to the amazingly talented scarletfish8eta on Deviantart!
[Yelling] Erick! Get your ass here right now! [Somewhat impatient] Finally. Now...what did I say right before sending you to check on the hostages? [Darker]...Exactly. Give them some water. Don't interact with them. [Raising voice again] So why did I just hear you casually chatting with them? [Exasperated and furious, tugging at Erick’s ears painfully]...For the last goddamn time, what is the point in you having these things if you aren’t ever gonna use them for listening?! Maybe I should just do you a favour and cut them off.
[Annoyed, muttering] Jesus, this is exactly why I hate teenagers. Think they know everything, always talking back. Stupid lil...[Exaggerated sigh before raising voice] Listen up, brats! You’re lucky I’ve been ordered not to harm a hair on either of your pretty lil heads. But if you ever get bored enough to try a stunt like that again, then I’ll gladly find a way for us to pass the time. [Sinisterly yet casually] We’ll play my favourite game. All you need is a scalpel [slow emphasis to drag out the threat] or a nice sharp shiny knife. I call it ‘Where Does It Hurt Most'?
[Explaining] Look, Shortie, I don’t do things for free. That’s not how the world works. [Seriously, a little taunting] You want my help? Then you’ve gotta earn it by doing something for me - and then I might consider lending you a hand. [A bit dismissive] See, I don’t know much about these ‘supers’ or whatever you’re referred as nowadays. Those weird powers of yours may be freaky…[Slow and emphasis] but they are also very useful. [Reverting to casual tone] So, what do ya say, Kid? Wanna hear me out [Threatening] or would you prefer to be back in those ropes whilst I call that doc back?
[Sarcastically, mimicking the guard] Apologies, but I really don’t care. [Hushed and threatening, dark and sadistic] Now, unless you wanna find out exactly what it feels like to undergo a disembowelment without any form of anaesthesia, you’re gonna tell us the code to access the security system in the next five seconds, aren’t you?
[A little panicked, showing care and concern for Erick] Hey, look at me, kiddo! Are you hurt anywhere? Did they do anything to you? ...No? [Relieved sigh] ...Good. That’s good. Now…[Seriously and somewhat threatening] if you ever make me have to risk my ass like that to save yours again, I swear I’ll kill you. Got that? ...Good. Don’t forget it. Now come on. We gotta get the heck outta here. I’ll check you up once we’re away from this goddamn place.
Hey again Corbanator! Thanks so much for auditioning as Fetch! He's...not your typical character you might expect to see as a party member, but we love him. Again, you did a brilliant job! I LOVED some of the yelling you did, expressivity and taking note of stage directions. Very good job! You did 'super' well indeed! As for improvements...again not too many. Being careful not to talk too fast, really don't be afraid to throw in anger and sadistic words and really enjoy yourself in his shoes! Line 5, 'Apologies' could sound a tad more sarcastic and taunting for maximum impact. Also if there is the possibility of making his voice a bit more gruff sounding that would be epic! That's all for now, thanks so much again and take care for now! :D
First of all, I am very grateful for the time you took to give criticism on each of my auditions, and am extremely humbled by your kind words. It really does mean a lot to me. Secondly, I will rerecord my auditions with your notes in mind and upload them as soon as I can tonight. I will only reply to this message to keep things clean and concise. I look forward to the potential opportunity to work with you in the future!
Awww you're more than welcome! :D I honestly find it disheartening how most projects you audition for barely acknowledge your audition, let alone give anything like detailed feedback. We're meant to get feedback to improve after all so what's the point if you're not going to develop from it, amirite? So yes, I like to try and give everyone detailed feedback for their wonderful performances! :D Thanks so much for the re-recordings! And likewise Corbanator, it's early days so we shall indeed see how it goes, but you've definitely got awesome voice talent :D
