A Dead Rose │ Animatic for Series Pitch
Katte Noel for Rose
CHARACTER DESCRIPTION
Rose is the daughter that her mother always wanted: precious, spoiled, and special. Rose grew up knowing she was all of these things, and likes to make sure everyone else knows, too. She believes the world exists to serve her needs, likening herself to a princess whose every demand must be met. Her brother, John, tries to earn her approval through his own special means of wood carving. But Rose has little care for wooden things, thus little care for her older brother. She only wants people to treat her the way she ought to be treated: a precious little angel.
VOCAL DIRECTIONRose isn’t your typical bratty teenager. She won’t stamp her feet and scream at you to get what she wants. She’ll find just the right cold and cutting words to say in order to put you in your place. She carries an air of calm, collected, rather chilling arrogance that self-appointed royalty should.
(In response to her brother, John, gifting her with a handmade spirit board)
Is it done yet? If this turns into a slumber party, I need to have it. (receives hand-carved spirit board) Look at my face. Do you know what this face means? You know what it means. I mean, you’ve seen it so many times. Like when you made this stupid tiara. And all your other dumb “gifts.” I’ve only ever made one face. (looks closer at the spirit board). John. What. The hell. Is that? Is that blood? You know what, no. Forget it. They’re gonna be here any minute. It’s not like you can ruin another before then. God, I wish I could go someplace where people actually do as I say and do things right.
