The Rising of the Shield Hero Audiodrama (Book 1)
Jess Floam for Malty Melromarc
Malty first appears as a friendly, encouraging, and flirty person, but under that initial mask, she is actually an arrogant, amoral, sinister, deceitful, and a compulsive liar. She is shown to be highly adept at lying and manipulating people, and is not above insulting and making them as miserable as possible. She is deceptive enough to produce crocodile tears in order to fool people into taking her side.
For a voice, you're gonna want to have some good range to hit her highs and lows.
(friendly) Sir, if it please you, I could serve with the Shield Hero. Um, so it’s nice to meet you, Sir Shield Hero. My name is Myne Suphia.
(optimistic - friendly - teaching) There’s one now, Hero. We call these ‘Orange Balloons,’ and they are rather easy to defeat. All the Heroes have their own ways of fighting.
(cry out in fear and hide behind Motoyasu) *sniffle tears* (frightened, afraid) The Shield Hero drank too much, and he came bursting into my room. Then he… He held me down, and… He held me down and said, (teary flirt) ‘The night is still young, Baby.’ Then he started to rip my clothes off… I screamed as loud as I could and ran from the room. That’s when I found Mr. Motoyasu, and he saved me.
Love how clean the recordings are! You do have some clipping on the higher notes however. I looked into what mic you have and found it may have an issue with clipping if you drop the gain lower than 2.8. Unsure if you knew about this, but I also looked further and found out that your mic has a -20db pad in its menu (in case your gain was set around 3). Have you ever tried this at all?
Thank you! And I really appreciate you looking into my mic setup! I'm still relatively new in using it. My gain was set to around 3, but I have not tried using the -20db pad in it's menu. I use the MS mic on the L/R input, but it seems as though the PAD switches are only for other inputs 1-4 and not the L/R mic? I use the mic as audio interface with limiter (3: studio). I can be more aware when the audio clips, and reduce the gain for the more shouting/yelling parts to eliminate clipping. What do you think?
Hey for sure! That definitely sounds like a plausible plan! Would you be able to quickly redo one single line with lower gain just to check it and make sure? The issue could even solely be related to inputs 1-4, so worth to give it a shot! You can resend it here or I have a discord @jstrussvo#0001 for quick back and forth as well!
Just submitted my redo without clipping! Also added you as a friend on discord as well. Cheers!
