DiZ is the one who awakened Riku from his rest between realms and led Riku through Castle Oblivion on his quest to overcome the darkness. He is genuinely interested in helping Riku and Sora, giving Riku a black coat to keep him undetected from Organization XIII and also knowing Sora is the key to putting an end to the Organization. As both DiZ and Ansem the Wise, he is a wise sage. He does have some selfish tendencies and motives, but in the end he truly means well for Sora and Riku.
(introducing himself to Riku) DiZ, or so I am known. You - I’ve watched you all along.

Wow, you did great as DiZ! Btw, despite the Z being capitalized, his name is still pronounced "Diz". Idk why the writers chose to do that to the z.
