Zendikar Rising: Red Route
Project Overview
Wizards of the Coast has begun releasing online web fiction for Magic: the Gathering once again! It is our goal on the Voice of All podcast to bring these stories to life through audio.
This week we are casting for major roles in the ongoing Zendikar Rising side stories. Zendikar is a dangerous world of wild magic and daring adventure. You can read the currently available chapter of the story here:

We are looking to keep up with the release of Wizards' stories as best as possible and will release our version the second following Friday, so expect to be cast this week and have your lines to me within a few days. This schedule may be slightly different for the time being as they are releasing two stories a week, but our schedule will remain one a week.
As a general casting note, I do not typically have any voice requirements in mind for characters. I would much rather hear your interpretations and choose from among them.

Akiri is a veteran line-slinger - like a mountain climber who swings from rope to thrown rope. She was a captain at the Battle of Sea Gate, helping fight off the Eldrazi monstrosities and save the world. Nowadays she works as a mercenary, taking on missions, especially to retrieve artifacts for scholars. Though she is scarred and battle-hardened, she has a zest for life and an eagerness to help rebuild Zendikar for future generations.
Akiri is a major character in the Zendikar Rising set of stories. There will be at least two scripts where she is present.
"That hypothesis would put you in vaunted company, Zareth. When you come back to the Gate, I can introduce you to some scholars who study the hedrons. They'll surely have some good books on the subject. Good resale value." [said sarcastically, like a joke]
"I found us work. Pays half now and half at the end. A caravan bound for Coralhelm, set to depart tomorrow."
"This is our world, all of its agonies and sickness. Fixing what has been done to her is our struggle, our charge, our place. We can't leave."
Zareth is a merfolk mercenary and a known thief. He fought at the Battle for Sea Gate in Akiri's squad, but ran away at some point, abandoning them. He promises that he has grown up since then, but there is still a bit of tension between him and Akiri. He has regrets about the past but has a great joy for life and living to the fullest.

"No... I was dear to someone brave." [a sad smile] "Anyways. They'll never let you down."
"I've never had a place to come back to. It's nice. Feels like things might be getting better. Being back at Sea Gate showed me that we did something more than survive."
[laughing]. "Fine then, I'm off to find another drink."
