Yu-Gi-Oh GX Chapters 1-4 Manga Fandub
Project Overview
This project is a long-term fandub of the Yu-Gi-Oh GX manga, meaning we will be dubbing over the manga in its entirety! This audition is for chapters 1, 2, 3, and 4 of the manga! We will be doing the other chapters at a later point!

About the Casting Director-
Hi! My name is Rae! I am 19 years old and a writer as well as an aspiring voice actor/voice director. My team and I are really excited to dub over this entire manga! For this project, I will be the casting director, script writer, and voice actor (maybe). We have a wonderful director and co-director that you will meet once joining! I'm looking forward to it and good luck!
Some rules/guidelines to note before auditioning-
- -Keep in mind, this is a long-term project, so audition with knowing that!
- Something to remember when audition: You will have to yell some lines... so please acknowledge that!
- -Having knowledge of the manga or show is preferred, but not required.
- -Lines will usually be due 1-2 weeks after the script for the chapter is posted!
- -Please be 16+!
- -Have a decent sounding mic, no background noise/a quiet recording space. The mic doesn't need to be professional... just one that doesn't echo/create lots of background noise.
- -Please do at least 2 takes per line with different delivery styles!
- -Please be easy, respectful, and professional to work with.
- -Please leave your discord in the comments of your audition! Our main point of communication will be on a discord server, so it is required to have a discord account!
- -Some of the crew will be auditioning, but we are people who don't play favorites and will cast fairly!
- -Last but not least, have fun!

The narrator of the series is a male who speaks every so often, narrating the actions, thoughts, etc. of many of the main characters. You MUST use a narrator type voice. I don't have a set voice for him, but please make him have a deep/low pitched voice.

Upon which stands... the school where the next generation of duelists is being trained. It is called Duel Academy.
Among the countless cards that exist in the world... only a few... are believed to have actual spirits.
Low-level Jaden Yuki, Slifer Red, has beaten Chazz Princeton, Obelish Blue! Campus gossip spreads fast!
Jaden is friendly, optimistic, laid-back, enthusiastic, kind, confident, funny, and very passionate about Dueling. Jaden loves Dueling and believes that all problems can ultimately be solved through it. He keeps going no matter how hard things get or how hopeless it seems, with a few exceptions (though it doesn't take much encouragement for him to start fighting again), although he does sometimes doubts himself. He always shows respect towards his opponents, with a few exceptions, even complimenting them during a Duel. Jaden shows little interest in areas outside of Dueling, which extends to his classes. When he chooses to attend them, he generally falls asleep. Despite his low grades, he is still regarded as one of Duel Academy's best Duelists. However, this attitude eventually shows itself as one of his greatest flaws and causes him to be targeted. He shows a lack of knowledge in areas outside of Dueling. Jaden also seems to be ignorant of the dislike that other individuals have for him. His carefree attitude and lack of thought get him into trouble occasionally. He occasionally shows signs of intellect.
One of Jaden's common traits is that he tends to make jokes or puns, even in some situations where it is not appropriate. Most of the jokes he makes are Duel-related but on a few occasions he does make jokes at someone's expense. Jaden has a close bond with his cards, to the point where he has no problem with an opponent insulting him, but is angered when they insult his cards. Jaden is also fiercely loyal to his friends, which often results in his risking his life to save them.
I don't have a set voice for him, but please he is a teen, so make him have a medium-pitched voice.

(Annoyed) The rumor Alexis told me is true!! I'm not having any of this. I'm comin' to get those cards back, Mr. Ryuga!!
(Disgusted) I refuse to regard you as a duelist... You're a disgrace...
(Determined) Again, I activate a trap card!! Go trap card! Gimme a miracle!
Alexis is generally very confident, sweet, caring, brave and strong willed, yet she does not follow the crowd nor does she regard herself as better than other people. Alexis is known well for her beauty, and many male characters throughout infatuation with her. Because she is the most beautiful girl in Duel Academy while also a great duelist, she has earned the names "Madonna" and "Queen of Obelisk Blue". However, she is kind, humble and not prideful, and does not intentionally use her looks to her advantage, which most likely attracts the male students to her even more. However, she has stated often that she does not want a boyfriend, and therefore has never gone through with anyone's interest in her. Alexis has put herself in danger to help her friends many times. She has strong confidence in her Dueling skills, but she does not act vain about it, unlike Chazz, Aster, and sometimes Jaden. Alexis also tends to act more quiet and reserved than Jaden's other friends. She tries to stay alongside Jaden and support him in defeating evil throughout the series, but often finds herself in trouble and needing his rescuing.

I heard from a student who lost... that Ryuga takes cards from those he beats.
No matter how tough a trap or monster is... one draw and he can flip the whole thing around.
Syrus is an insecure and unconfident Duelist. However, he not only grows into becoming a better Duelist, but a more brave and confident person. He is a very loyal friend, often thinking of Jaden as a second big brother figure, and he has a habit of hugging him. Syrus' insecurity comes from his brother Zane who was a very skilled Duelist and at one time Zane criticized Syrus for using the Powerful card Power Bond without thinking about the consequences.

(Worried) Did my disk crash? But the monster and trap are functioning properly. Why won't my spell card activate?
(Confused) What's he doing? Why doesn't he activate the spell card?! Don't just stand there holding fusion!
(Concerned) Maybe his spell won't activate? Just like what happened to me!
When first introduced, Vellian Crowler is a tough teacher who believes the Obelisk Blue dorm is the best and hates weak Slifer Red students. He tries to get Jaden kicked out, but fails every single time. Eventually, he respects him and when he has a rematch with Jaden where he admits he doesn't want to see his students go.

(Proud) Winning 49 straight games is quite something, Mr. Ryuga. You're coming along just as I expected!
I was wondering what all that racket outside my door was. It was you, Dropout Boy!
(Cocky) Well then, Dropout Boy asked for it by neglecting his own gear!
Mr. Ryuga is a teacher trainee assigned to Duel fifty students at Duel Academy. On the condition that he could defeat them all, he would be recognized as an official professor of the school. He however had bigger plans in store once he became a professor. He is rumored to take the cards of those he defeats. When he Duels, he cheats by using a special ring to emit an electromagnetic force that disables his opponent's Duel Disk, preventing their use of Spell Cards. He is sinister, cocky, and uses his position to try and turn the dueling world over to his ideals.

I'm a bit of a card collector. Truesdale over there had a card that I didn't have and he conceded it to me.
(Threatening, cocky) Listen, boy. I'll make sure you're at the top of my expulsion list. You'll regret this.
Bastion is an intelligent, precise, stern Duelist with a genius-level intellect. His Deck was built with a formula that he made. Despite his keen intellect, Bastion later develops something of an inferiority complex. He ends up going along with the Society of Light on the promise that joining the group will return him to the spotlight, but later leaves the organization of his own volition and is the only character shown to leave the Society of Light under their own will power without having to first be defeated in a duel.

(Impressed) Jaden Yuki... how did someone with his talents end up in the red dorm...?
He's got a crazy knack for drawing the right card at the right time. He always uses the element of surprise!!
(A bit jealous) I envy him... he might actually be a genius.
Chazz can be seen as the Seto Kaiba to Jaden. He is characterized as incredibly arrogant, self-conceited and often petty, sometimes to the point of comedic relief. He is shown to be very antagonistic towards Jaden and other Slifers, although he comes to undergo somewhat of a change for the better later in the series. After losing his Duel to Jaden and then to Bastion, he left Duel Academy and ended up in North Academy, whose entrance exam required the Duelist to find 40 cards to make a makeshift Deck. From this experience, he learned to appreciate any and all cards, weak or powerful, which have the potential to be useful. Despite his begrudging use of the cards and his constant annoyance of their presence, Chazz and the Ojamas have developed something of a close companionship, with the latter being incredibly loyal to him. His personality evolved through the series becoming more an eccentric and a comic relief.
He is also madly in love with Alexis who does not feel the same about him. Even with her brother Atticus's help, he was rejected numerous times. His love for her can cause him to act impulsively.
