After discovering that they work at the same company, a gaming crazed otaku and a fujoshi reunite for the first time since middle school. After some post-work drinking sessions they begin dating, but will it be a perfect relationship for the two of them?
I started watching Wotakoi on the recommendation of a YouTuber I admire and was instantly charmed by the series' realistic portrayal of adult romance and humor. The show is really about feeling comfortable with the things you like and not being afraid to show it. Feeling comfortable in one's hobbies is a big step to self-acceptance, and you can never really love someone until you love yourself.
Project Goals
I want to make this fandub as professional as possible, and that means extra special attention to audio and audio editing. I have video and audio editing experience and feel that my skills are adequate to make this fandub really sound good. I've already spent hours gathering SFX and rewording the script to fit the lip flaps of the Japanese. It will be an accurate portrayal of the show with just as much love put into as the original!
This is my first attempt at a fandub, so at this point, I am focusing on the first episode. If it goes well, I will move on to the rest of the episodes in the series!
Before Auditioning
A little about me:
I've been a theatre and voice actor for about two years now and have acted in productions at my university. I run my own YouTube channel where I do let's plays and occasionally post anime related videos. I have a fair amount of video and audio editing experience as well as mixing. I've always been interested in the dubbing process, as an actor and editor. I've been cast in a few projects here on CCC and might be working with some of you! I'm very excited to get this project started; Wotakoi is becoming one of my favorite anime series and I'm very excited to see how it will turn out!

(Medium-high to High) Narumi is an eager, energetic woman who loves anime and manga . . . especially yaoi. She's insecure about the fact that she likes those things, so she tries to hide it from the guys she wants to date. She loves gushing about the things she likes, especially to Koyanagi. She dates Hirotaka in the show, and they share a strange, but endearing relationship. Don't be afraid to play with the humor of her lines, she's a very naturally funny person!
If you let anyone find out I’m an otaku, I’ll tell everyone about you. “This guy over here is a seriously addicted game otaku!”
[with increasing distress as she goes] Right before our first anniversary, he started avoiding me because everyone found out that I was an otaku, and then he dumped me. He said he couldn't be attracted to a fujoshi. It hurt every time I saw him. I ended quitting the company.
I want to find out if cool Koyanagi-san is really an otaku. And if she is, then I want to find out how much of an otaku she is! And whether she’s into yaoi. This could be my chance at having an otaku friend like I’ve always wanted. But any attempt to find out would mean I’d run the risk of her finding out I’m an otaku. I have to choose my words and actions carefully…
(Medium to Low) Hirotaka is a stoic office worker who loves playing video games. He doesn't express a ton of emotion, but is weirdly silly with his inflections with certain words and his excessive use of kaomoji in texts. He has an extremely dry sense of humor.
Listen to yourself. So, you’re the kind of yaoi fangirl who ignores her own faults.
Shut up, fujoshi.
If it were me, I’d collect materials and level up with you whenever you want. If you had to work overtime, I’d wait for you. I wouldn’t disappoint you and make you cry. I’d make sure that you’d never say that you made the wrong choice. And I can go with you to the event next weekend as your sales assistant.
(Medium-low to Low) Kabakura is a sort-of manly man who happens to be pretty into cheesy shoujo manga and video games. He's one of those people that tries to hide the fact that he's actually a giant nerd. He is dating Koyanagi in the show, and they share a tense and argumentive relationship. He is very emotive, and easy to anger.
[irritated] Yeah. You’re right! I’m so jealous! All guys like that sort of thing! Damn!
Are you serious? Does he think this is lunch break at school?
Wh-why are you playing games at work like it’s nothing? Don’t you have other things to do? [irritated] Don’t ignore me!
(Medium-high to High) Koyanagi is a friendly and diligent worker, but just so happens to be one of the most famous cosplayers in Japan, as well as Narumi's idol. Koyanagi is dating Kabakura, and they share a rather rocky, but loving relationship. Koyanagi is not afraid of an argument and will go toe-to-toe with Kabakura anytime.

(Medium-high to Medium) A minor role of a very enthusiastic server who works at the bar Hirotaka and Narumi frequent.
