Hello Fanwings! This is a fanmade audiobook for the sixth book in the Wings of Fire series by Tui T. Sutherland. This is part two of auditions because we had a lot of people disappear from our production. Kinkajou is a dragonet in the Jade Winglet. She's a bubbly, pippy kind of Rainwing that was injured when Queen Glory ascended to the thrown during a royal challenge. For the first line she's in an excited kind of "obviously" kind of tone. For the second line she's talking SUPER fast and very excited. (Her name in pronounced Kin-ka choo)
Oooo... how does it feel to be related to someone famous? Almost like being best friends with a Queen! Which I am, incidentally. So, I mean, totally get used to it!
Isn't this exciting? I'm so excited i can hardly STAND IT. That's why I'm this color, by the way. I've been trying all morning to make me look something more... dignified. But I just can't do it; my scales are like, YAY WE'RE REALLY HERE! and will not listen to me.
Just do however you think they would sound!
(I'm most likely going to cast 2-3 people for this role for some variety. We will then be giving you which ones to do after we split up the lines.)
Father said they have a library. I'm going to learn how to read! Oh, I hope I'm not the only one who can't read yet. That would be so embarrassing.
I wonder where the prophecy dragonets are. I wonder if they'll notice me!
Carnelian is a loyal soldier in Queen Ruby's army. As you can see, she's not the happiest of dragons. This line is all thought, and she's definitely being very bitter about having to go to Jade Mountain Academy.
I'm a warrior. A loyal soldier in Queen Ruby's army, who never did anything to deserve this. . . . this punishment of schooling and being forced to live with Ditzy and Mumbles over there.
Clay is the "bigwings" of the Dragonets of Destiny. He's a fun dragon too. In the first line he's trying to get everyone in the prey center to calm down, and then is yelling at the chickens to stop as well so they can eat them. In the second line, he's talking to Kinkajou. He sounds a little guilty as well.
Everyone stop moving! Especially you chickens! CHICKENS, GIVE UP! WE'RE GOING TO EAT YOU! THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT! STOP RUNNING AWAY RIGHT NOW!
So, my plan hasn't exactly gone as . . . . planned.
Starflight is the Nightwing from the Dragonets of Destiny that was blinded by the explosion on the Nightwing island. In the first line, he's thinking, but also very scared as he thinks that Queen Scarlet is coming to destroy the school. The second line is just a short little bit, he's asking Sora if she's still there, but he's unsure if she is.
Queen Scarlet. She's come for us. Which way to the Great Hall? I have to get there, I have to protect them.
Sora, are you still there?
Sunny is one of the Dragonets of Destiny. In this line, she's obviously freaking out. So, try to sound super surprised, but also very scared. (Qibli is pronounced Kee-blee)
(This is from a different book, but it's too good of a line to not use!)
QIBLI! A gigantic, all powerful, possibly evil dragon just rose out of the ground and took off with 6 of my students! SIX OF MY STUDENTS!!!
Sora is one of Clay's younger sisters. In both of these lines she's almost crying, (or crying already) and her voice is pretty shaky. If possible please sound like you're about to cry, or already are crying.
I'm so sorry Umber... I didn't mean for anyone else to get hurt in the explosion...
She killed Crane... She killed our sister... She'll be dead, dead, dead...
Icicle is the sister to one of the lead roles, Winter. In the first line, she's being very sarcastic. In the second line, she's very mad and irritated at Winter for messing up her plans.
A lazy Rainwing with a crush on my brother. How sweet.
Our Brother is alive you fool. Queen Scarlet told me. Keep the most important prisoners in a secret, separate prison. And if I would have killed The Dragonets for Queen Scarlet, she would have given them back to me. To us. But instead you killed him all over again, and now you will have to live with that forever.
Onyx is an older Sandwing who was still accepted into Jade Mountain Academy. (Even though she's around 19 years old) In this line she's talking with the other Sandwing students. I wouldn't say there's a specific emotion she's showing, so say it however you'd think I'd sound like.
I didn't grow up on one of those big oases, if that's what you're asking. It was just me and my mother, roaming the desert, and she's dead now. Which is why I applied to come here- I have nowhere else to go. But it doesn't matter, because I'm staying.
Queen Coral is obviously a queen, so if possible, make yourself sound "queenly". For the first one try to sound worried about Anemone leaving. She's then cut off when another character starts talking. For the second line she's being stern to her youngest daughter, Auklet.
"And I'm only letting this happen because Anemone has been badgering me about it every day since she got your message about the school. But you can come home anytime, you understand? If you feel threatened, or lonely, or overworked, or tired-"
"You are much to young, I can't risk anything happening to you, especially while Anemone is this far away."
Auklet is very young. In this line she really wants to go to Jade Mountain Academy and is asking her mother, Queen Coral, if she can go.
"Me too me too! I want to go to school, too!"
In this line Fatespeaker is *trying* to be welcoming and friendly. (Tho this just freaks out Moon a bit)
Hello! Welcome to the Great Hall of Jade Mountain! Let me guess- you're Moonwatcher, aren't you? I'm tremendously good at guessing. In fact, one might even say I'm mysteriously good at it. Almost as though I'm..... reading your mind, eh?
Pike is the guard for princess Anemone that Queen Coral sent to go to Jade Mountain Academy so that she knew Anemone was safe. In the first line Pike is obviously mad and irritated at Carnelian. (The lines that have stars at the ends he's thinking, but still say them please!) For the second line, Pike is arguing with the Dragonets of Destiny because Bigtail won't give Anemone the fish he already has.
"Don't you dare blow smoke in my face-" *She could be one of the Skywings who destroyed the Summer Palace!*
"But the princess wants that fish!"
Coconut is one of Kinkajou's "friends". (They're sorta friends, but Coconut didn't even realize Kinkajou was gone when she was abducted by Nightwings) He's a pretty slow dragon and doesn't really pay attention when others are talking to him. So in this line, you can be a little slow with your speech, and kind of confused in a way. (If that makes any sense)
Hm, what? Didn't I say I was sorry about that? Or did I? Something like that.
Stonemover is an animus that gave up his power, instead of having his soul chipped away at, he had his own body. He's almost covered in stone, and he is Sunny's father. He's very old and raspy sounding. In this line he also sounds a little sad/disappointed.
My first visitor from the academy. Apart from Sunny, of course. She said I might have other dragons to talk to me from time to time. But there has been no one so far. Not even Sunny today.
Bigtail is one of the dragonets that was living on the Nightwing island. In this line Anemone has just asked him for the fish that he's eating. If possible, sound confused, like "Why would she want my fish, I'm eating it right now."
Uh, this one? (Anemone then talks) This one that I'm eating?
Marsh is one of Clay's brothers. In this line, he's pretty nervous and fidgety.
Yeah, that's my clawmate. I don't remember the other names yet.
Both of these lines are of Flame thinking. He's one of the dragonets from the fake Dragonets of Destiny. He has a scar on his face from the Sandwing in the fake Dragonets of Destiny. He's a "fireball" if you could say. For the first line he's being very mean, and says this without a "flicker of pity, sadness, or remorse." For the second line he's kinda down about not being the one to set off the bomb, and then he gets really defensive and mad, because Moon is in his mind. He feels as if there was a "presence inside his mind."
(Thinking about Carnelian and Bigtail) - stupid half-baked, or all baked ha ha, idiot dragons they're lucky they're dead or else they'd be shambaling scarred monsters like me-
I wish I'd done it everyone would take me seriously then but I wouldn't hide it I'd roar it to the world- Who's there? WHO'S THERE?
Ostrich is a friend of Qibli (pronounced Kee-blee) that grew up in the Scorpion Den. In this line for the first part I'd say she seems kinda nervous and talking a bit fast, but then for the second part she's thankful, and has calmed down.
Qibli! Are you going home? I might go home. Do you think Father or Thorn would be mad if I went home? (Qibli then talks) I do feel better now that you're here.
Mightyclaws is one of the dragonets that was on the Nightwing island. In this line he's talking to Moonwatcher and she asks him about Darkstalker. He sounds very scared about him and I'd say a little dramatic.
No, he's definitely real. My father used to tell me about him when I was learning to fly. He'd say. 'Flap harder! Imagine the Darkstalker is chasing you!' or 'If you can't twist into a dive faster than that, the Darkstalker will catch you and rip off your claws and eat your brain!' He told me about how the tribe buried him a long time ago and they ran away to hide, but he's slowly clawing his way out, and one day he'll break free and come to kill us all for revenge.
