A big man with a big heart. Dustin "Dusty" McDowell is William's beloved boyfriend, having swept him off his feet a few years after William's previous partner Virgil passed away. He's sweet and genuine, with a sultry voice and an immense love for all things caffeinated. Deeper voice, with a bit of a dorky atmosphere. Lover of jokes and can be rather aloof yet protective.
Dusty is 22 Years Old in season one and comes in later on as an additional character after William's husband Virgil passes away. The two's romance is slow-burning, and they don't officially get together as a couple until the second season. Dusty works as an officer of the Scorpion Den in the Dragon World; making sure no quick-witted thieves get away with his cousin's precious homemade jewels. He has a spotty relationship with his parents after his brother's death, which he believes they caused.
He/Him and Homosexual. Delivery of voice lines is entirely up to you.
"You know what? I can't stand you. And I won't let you keep walking all over me like a doormat."
"I am my own person. I don't have to listen to you anymore. It's YOUR fault that Samir is gone."
"Quincy, you come here every Saturday, at the same time, no matter what. I've gotta hand it to you- you may be a thief, but you're pretty committed."

Samir was a 16-year-old boy working in his family's jewelry and pawn shop. Often described by his brother Dustin as a people-pleaser and awkward, Samir didn't have many friends and, because of his rough home life, struggled greatly in his education. His parents, severely disappointed in his performance, lured him behind the shop and strangled him to death with a golden necklace.

"I try not to upsell people. Father says it's important for earnings... But it's manipulation to me."
