What if Anne was in DiU?: Part 0 - A Call Away

Project Overview

'What if Anne was in Diamond is Unbreakable?' is a hypothetical scenario based in the (original) JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure universe, wherein the character in question, Anne Merlai from Stardust Crusaders (Part 3), is carried over into Part 4 thanks to in-universe connections, in an audio drama form.


I’m hoping to write all the way through the part, but for now this casting call is for a prequel story that’s able to stand on its own. This story would be uploaded onto my YouTube channel, and all necessary credits will be present in the description.


I appreciate any time taken to have a gander at this idea, and even more so anyone interested in auditioning for the project. This would not only be an opportunity for the voice artists, but for me to experiment with editing. If anyone interested has any questions, then DM me on CCC or on Discord: a_spectrum_d

  • A Regretful Choice

    Morning all.

    Firstly, I’d like to apologise for the lack of news regarding this project; I admittedly forgot about the page outside of the private Discord for the cast.

    Secondly, I’m afraid that due to other projects and aspects of one’s real life, the ‘A Call Away’ project is going to have to be cancelled for the foreseeable future at least.

    I appreciate the time, interest and effort to all that showed it; maybe I can pursue the story in a different form and have more to show for it in future.

  • Let's Get Down to Business... (20/12/2023)

    First off, I'm sorry for my tardiness regarding the project updates; standard affair, waiting on stuff, real life, all that jazz. However, I can safely say we now have both roles for A Call Away filled.

    May I introduce south as Jotaro Kujo, and ThatJezOverThere as Anne Merlai. I myself will be providing the few lines of the taxi driver from the opening scene from the anime.

    For anyone interested in seeing the finished result, I'll be posting an update with the link to the video upon its completion, maybe a development update, too.

  • And now… the end is near…

    well, for auditions, that is. The audition time for the JoJo fan story - or at least the pilot - is closing tomorrow. If you, or anyone you know that’s interested, would be up for taking part, I implore you do so ASAP, as the deadline of November 30th draws closer.

    Tomorrow, I will make a note to listen to all the auditions I have (and possibly will have) received and hopefully come to a decision.

  • The Final Countdown

    Morning, all. Just making an update to inform everyone that we’re on the last five days until the audition deadline hits, and I make my decision on voice artists for the project.

    I implore that anyone with range, audio quality, and most of all, interest, audition while the opportunity’s still here, as time seems to pass faster when you’re otherwise occupied. Feel free to share the project with others if you know someone who meets the criteria and not yourself.

  • (Woah) We’re Halfway There.

    Evening all. First off, I’d like to thank everyone who’s chosen to audition thus far - this has really relit the proverbial flame for this idea, particularly the design.

    Secondly, as the heading says, as of the time writing this, it’s November 15th, marking the halfway point for further auditions. If you or anyone you know with relatively good range and quality would be interested to try out, you have until November 30th.

Anne Merlai from Stardust Crusaders (Part 3), was a side character who was present with the main team for a few occasions who is being carried over into Part 4, thanks to in-universe connections, in a 'what if?' story taking an audio drama form.


At the start, Anne was a rebellious teenager with quite the attitude on her, but as she got closer to the group and revealed her true story, she transitioned into a more relaxed young girl with the occasional energetic streak. In this story, she retains her energy and youth, but, like Jotaro, she's matured a little more (as well as getting over her crush on Jotaro for the most part).

Jotaro Kujo was the protagonist of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders, and had a level of involvement in the story in each part from Diamond is Unbreakable (Part 4) to Stone Ocean (Part 6),


In Part 4, at the age of 28, he's mellowed out a bit after the events of Part 3. He's still a level-headed, stoic individual who doesn't really emote very often, but can still be driven to anger by what he defines as 'true evil' or if someone really annoys him enough. That said, he does still care about those he's close to.
