[VOICE ACTORS NEEDED] Splatoon Fanmade Animated Series (SFM)
Project Overview
Introduction
This is a call for my fan made series, Splatoon: The 4th Agent. I am in need of voice actors for this series because I don't like using subtitles and want my characters to be able to vocally express their personalities. Actors will not be paid.
For this project, I, the director, would like to meet my actors face to face, so I ask that if you audition that you have a way to video chat in case I pick you. Zoom or Discord are the best ways to go for my project.
Note: These face to face meetings will happen only after I have chosen my actors, and only with those chosen people.
Update: I am not asking for any "wavy" effects that make the character sound squid-like. To me, it gets in the way of the actual dialogue. When you audition, give me your raw, natural voice. If I plan on adding any effects, I'll do it myself.
Project Overview
Splatoon: The 4th Agent is a fan made animated series that centers around the life of a young inkling girl named Fiona whose life is changed forever when the Octarians come back to steal the Great Zapfish once again, and this time, they are not playing around. This series is going to be a creative retelling of the story mode in Splatoon 2. I will be using the bare bones of the story, that being the Octarians attack again, Callie goes missing, and Agent 4 is recruited to get the Zapfish back. However, that's basically where the similarities end. I'm adding a significant number of changes that basically turn the whole thing into a different story, and my changes are apparent in the first episode, which I recommend checking out.
Requirements
-speak English fluently
-low background noise
-.wav files are preferred but not required
-halfway decent microphone
^ really, just anything better than your computer mic, I'm not asking for professionals here
-zoom or discord for video chat
-a way to communicate with me for outside session discussion (phone, video, email, snapchat, discord)
What to Expect
I am a one-man animation team, so production of episodes will take insane amounts of time, depending on my schedule. I have also never directed anything by myself. I have a little experience with past student films, but nothing on my own, so expect screw ups on my part.
Because animation takes so much time, there will be huge gaps in between voice acting sessions. I plan on getting the voice clips before starting the animation, so I may randomly contact you during the year asking when you will be available for acting.
We will video chat each other for our acting sessions and you will record your lines on your own computer. Once I feel satisfied with your performance, you will send the recorded sound files to me. Now, I won't know what the audio actually sounds like with video chat having limited sound quality, but this way I at least have some say in how the lines are delivered, and I can make changes right then and there as opposed to constantly having to contact you again, telling you to re-record.

Fiona is a 16-year-old who is rather reserved. She is soft spoken and lacks self confidence. She is very critical of herself despite reality or what others may tell her. However, her low self-esteem makes room for a desire to protect innocents, especially those close to her. She can also be very emotional at times, letting fear, sadness, or anger take over for her.
Situation: Fiona is being interviewed
(Shy) "I mean, I did okay against the Octolings, but... (ashamed) I couldn't do anything against the H.P.S... It had me beat no matter what I did.
(Encouraging, but serious, trying to convince) "Your actions saved hundreds of inklings, including me. There is merit to what you've done and what you're doing now!"
(through tears) "I'm sorry... I can't do this. I'll just slow Agent 3 down... He works better alone anyway."
In addition to this, give me some regular crying, like sniffles, shallow breathing, maybe a wimper. Make it a quiet cry, like you don't want others to hear.
I've labeled this guy as a young adult, but I will also accept teens.
Anyway, Agent 3 is a prodigy, and he knows it. He likes to get things done his way. He is a bit of an asshole, but I wouldn't necessarily say egotistical. He gets very annoyed by incompetency. He also loves the thrill of danger.
Situation: Viewing the aftermath of a battle, giving his report
(Investigative, serious) "Well, there was certainly a Turf War here, but judging by the three ink colors, it looks like the Octarians were a part of it, too.
Situation: He is yelling at someone, and he is interrupted
(beyond irritated, about to blow your top, but don't be screaming) "Am I going to have to- (interrupted, turns to person) No, shut the hell up! (turns back to subject) Am I going to have to rip your tentacles off to get you to move!? No? Then why were you just sitting there like an idiot going (mocking voice) 'Euh I can't do this!' (normal voice) I told you it was a bad idea, and as it turns out, I was right!
(very relaxed) *Sigh* Damn, man. You have no idea how much I needed that.
Marie is very soft spoken. She has a tender voice, almost like a mother. She can be sassy at times, but for the most part, she is professional.
Situation: She has just received terrible news
(to herself, anxious) "Oh cod, that's just what I was afraid of."
(authoritative) "Both of you! Sit down and shut up!"
(very gently) I know you feel like you can do this alone, like you did before. But our current situation isn't like the first time. It's true, she might not have the skills you do, but that doesn't mean she can't learn. (pause) C'mon... Give her a shot.
Sheldon is a friggin' nerd, so give him a slightly higher pitched voice. He is very elaborate, but high energy. He has some pep in his voice.
(chipper) "Actually, the exact height of Moray Towers is-" (he gets cut off)
(excited) "Salutations! I bring armaments for my two favorite squids!"
(pleading) "Pleeeease?? I want it to be tested in the field so I can put it up for sale in my shop!"
Melvin is very cynical. He is an Octarian scientist with a slightly higher pitched voice. He despises incompetency and is very envious of those in power.
(panicky) "I don't understand though. I specifically designed the suit to counter him. Who taught him hand-to-hand combat??"
(irritated, aggressive) "Your troops were pathetic. Your timing was laughable! We had numerous options for attack, but you chose the worst one!"
(sinister) I see... It all makes sense now...
Octavio is a ruler. He is arrogant and stubborn. He gets easily frustrated. He is loud. Put a bit of grovel in your voice if you can.
(gloating, proud) "You fools think you can save yourselves by hiding!? You are surrounded, your spawn points are destroyed, and no one is coming to save you!"
(insulted, furious) "Now, you listen here, you one-eyed shrimp! I am in charge here, and you have no say in how my army is managed!"
Give me some evil laughs, ranging from chuckles to booming laughter.
Brayden is very extroverted and a little egotistical. Put energy into your voice. He is one of the better Turf War players. He loves trash talk. He's the kinda guy you love when he's with you, but hate when he's against you.
(relaxed, almost bragging) Yeah, well, I guess jumping off Moray Towers was a little rash, but...
(angry, aggressive) Look man, I don't know you, nor do I care about you, but you need to realize what just happened to us. Do you have any idea what it's like to get splatted and not have a spawn point to go to!?
(honest, not as high energy) I gotta tell you though. If there is ever another time where I'm stuck in a situation like that, there's no one I would rather have my back than you.
