Tick tock! The clock is once again ticking along to an urgent matter. Six moon phases have passed once more, which means it's time for another crystal renewal spell. Rhea and Viv are employees under a sorcerer at a magical shop that specializes in witchcraft paraphernalia within their realm. In a universe where their magic relies upon the charge of their sacred conduit: a crystal ball, Rhea and Viv must clock in at exactly sunset to craft the perfect potion blend to replenish their magic crystal. If they fail, their magic could be lost to time forever, and even worse, their shop would have to close. One issue-- WHY IN STAR’S NAME WOULD VIV COME IN LATE?!
WHAT IS THIS PROJECT:Hi there! My name is Manda, and thank you so much for your interest in auditioning for my animated film! I'm a third-year animation student at SVA, working on my solo film, and it would be a lovely opportunity to hear your voice and potentially work with you! :))
POTION COMMOTION! is planned to roughly be a 01:30 long (min: sec) animated short film, focusing on two witch leads! This film is a fantasy COMEDY with emotional undertones: it's meant to have an overall silly, whacky, whimsy vibe.
**This project does not and will not use ANY AI.
The film is scheduled to be finished in June 2025.

** I MAY need retakes and may need you on standby! (**If said event occurs, there would be a supplemented payment as well.)
**By applying, you are acknowledging that you can potentially be hired.
**You must be 18+ to audition and have a valid payment method. (so that I can effectively pay you for your talents!) Examples include PayPal, Venmo, or CashApp. (But if you prefer another app not listed, that is okay, as long as you have one!)
** This is a remote position, which means you will be recording on your own. A high-quality microphone with a pop filter is PREFERRED! Controlled levels, zero peaking, and quality are incredibly important for the sound design of a film.
CHARACTER GUIDELINES
This will also be a DIALOGUE DRIVEN film- which makes the voice acting incredibly important to make this story as compelling as possible for the audience. Because of this, this is proudly a paid opportunity (on a student budget).
**This film will be FAST PACED to effectively communicate the overall urgent energy of the characters, so being comfortable with speaking quickly is important for these roles!
**These characters also EMOTE! So you definitely need to be comfortable with exaggerating, sighing, grunting, laughing, etc. especially for a comedic film.
**Feel free to riff in your audition! While these are the current lines, I don't mind experimentation!
