Who I Am, An LGBTQ Musical (Working Title)

Project Overview

Set against the vibrant yet turbulent backdrop of late 1960's New York, this musical explores will explore themes of love, identity, and self-discovery through a heartfelt and humorous lens. The story follows Eleanor, a young woman navigating the expectations of a traditional life with her well-meaning fiancé, Daniel, while grappling with her true feelings for her free-spirited best friend, Jo (Judith).

Overall, this was a cabaret I originally wrote in my senior year of high school. I want to work on actually turning it into a musical with my own music that I have written/am in the process of writing. I am in a huge drafting/rewriting phase right now, but would like to have some voices to put to the songs. My friend has been a huge help, but listening to me sing over and over again can become a bit difficult haha. With every song, I'd have you sing a half finished version, up to 2 rough drafts and a final version. My budget right now is $10 per version of the song that is sung, but hopefully I can expand this in the future if the musical starts to pick up. I may have a few feeder lines into the song as well. Right now I don't plan on releasing the version of the songs you will sing (think of them like Lin Manuel-Miranda's first drafts, haha). But who knows where the future will take this project! Let me know if you're interested thank you for all the help! I have attached one of the songs I'm working on if you are interested!
