[ This project in particular is a copy of the original TwoKinds casting call I had posted. I decided to change the casting process, only looking for roles that appear earlier on in the story. More "waves" will come out with future characters. You can audition on this project, or on the old casting call, but I prefer here. Thanks! ]
TwoKinds is a webcomic written and drawn by Tom Fischbach. He originally started it in 2003 at the age of 16 and the comic is still updating to this day! It is currently at 21 chapters and roughly 1150 pages.
Here's a plot summary from the comic's page:
After losing his memory to a mysterious battle, Trace Legacy, a former leader for an organization of mages called the Templar, finds himself in the company of Flora, a girl of strange, tiger-like qualities. As Trace gradually begins to re-learn what he once knew, he soon discovers that Flora belongs to a race of people who are enemies of his kind. As friendship confects with racial differences, Trace and Flora find themselves in a situation more critical than either of them can imagine.
And here's an overview of the comic as a whole:
Twokinds is a webcomic that takes place in a world conflicted with racial tension, primarily between Humans and Keidran. They have dramatically different societies and ideas on how to live and act. It is because of these differences that the two races are almost always in some form of conflict. The story begins as the world hinges on the brink of another war. However, unlike before, this time war seems to be the result of a single man, manipulating the two races for his own personal gain - though he no longer has any memory of doing so.
I've been following the comic for at least 7 years now, so it's a big dream of mine to really bring it to life. The most popular dub of it that I'm aware of hasn't updated in a few years, so I'd like to fill that void!
And so, this is going to be a dub of the entire thing, following along with new updates as they come out. I may look into dubbing some of the shorter spinoff comics, such as "The Dragon Masquerade" and "Prank Pixie Panic", but we'll see! The main comic itself is very long, so the others will be discussed further down the road.
I'd like to not that, since this comic was started by a 16 year old... the beginning isn't as strong, but it improves greatly over time, both writing- and art-wise!
Important notes:
1. This casting call will contain some spoilers for the comic, so audition at your own risk if you'd like to read the comic!
2. This comic does contain some adult themes and fan service moments. Nothing graphic, but there are many jokes, innuendos, etc. It also does contain some depictions of violence.
3. I will be voicing Raine, so she will not appear on this casting call. If you're interested in a specific minor character that isn't on this casting call, reach out to me and we can figure out some sort of audition process for it.
4. As this comic is pretty long, expect a bit of a long-term commitment, especially for the leads. I understand that your situation may change unexpectedly, but if you KNOW you cannot commit, I do not recommend auditioning. Thank you for understanding!
5. I will be linking some "voice claims" in the project descriptions. "the stooge" on YouTube has compiled some great clips for their vision of the cast. I went with some of their picks and some of my own! To me, these voice claims get down the pitch and tone very well, but there is a lot of wiggle room for your own interpretation! Do what YOU think fits!
Audition requirements and expectations:1. I am looking for higher quality audio. I require minimal/no background noise/static/peaking/etc. I can offer a lot of advice for making your audio sound much cleaner if you are having any trouble.
2. Overall, be AT LEAST 13 or older. However, I do prefer that voice actors be 18 or older because of some of the mature themes of the comic. Generally, most characters do have SOME mildly suggestive dialogue and scenes, so only audition if you are comfortable with that. If you are looking for characters that have absolutely no suggestive dialogue/theming, reach out to me and I can suggest some roles that will work for you.
3. I prefer to communicate through Discord, so please leave your Discord name with your audition so I can get in touch with you. However, if you cannot use Discord, we can figure something out.
4. Please do not slate your auditions, and please do no more than three takes per line. I personally prefer two, but do whatever works for you! For some of the longer, more monologue-y lines, feel free to submit just one take.

Description: "Red" (Human), is a friend of Trace from before he lost his memory. It's a running joke in the webcomic that no one knows his name, and is mostly referred to as "Red". He is a part of "Team B".

(Aggressive) - Grr, I bet one of them wiped his memory! Furry-eared freaks, I’ll—
Karen: Ahem…
(Backpedaling) - Oh, Karen, you know I didn’t mean… yours look good on you— Ah! Get her off of me! Ow, not there! Stop! Ack! Help, she’s biting me! Someone help! Aah!
[Red explains his feelings towards Keidran to Raine]
You saw what they did to our village. They were killing an’ burning everything in their path.
That’s always the kind of experience I’ve had with Keidran in my life.
Description: Trace (Human) is the protagonist of this story. He was the former Grand Templar, before he lost his memory.

(Concerned) - What was that? Sounds like someone’s in trouble.

[Having returned to the manor he shared with Saria, Trace's painful memories resurface
(Painful memories rushing through his head, frantic) - Saria…! She’d just learned… I remember. We made plans… a trip to the cabin to celebrate. When the wolf… the filthy Keidran scum!
[Trace finds Flora, who is possessed by Ephemural]
(Confused) - That can’t be Flora… Who are you?
(Protective, defensive) - Let her go right now! Why are you doing this? What have we ever done to you?
Description: Flora (Tiger Keidran) is one of the protagonists of TwoKinds. She is a bit childish and naïve and can have a fiery temper. But overall, she is generally carefree and relaxed.

[The crew finally makes it to their destination after weeks on the ship]
(Excited) - We’re here! *stretching* Mrrrah!
Trace: Maybe we should wait for the others first?
I know, but I couldn’t help myself! It just feels so good to finally be back on dry land again! Oh, ground, how I’ve missed you! Or… at least the docks attached to you. Close enough!
[Flora approaches two tigresses at a festival]
Iris: (Patronizing) - Oh, I see. You’re a domesticated keidran.
(Upset, defensive) - What? No! I’m a natural-born tiger! I’m not a slave! N-not anymore…
Iris: Hun, your scent reeks of human. Clearly you’re still someone’s pet.
(Defensive, hurt) - I’m not a pet!!
[Keiren's men grab Trace, believing he is wrongly imprisoning Flora]
(Forceful) - Keiren, tell your men to let. Him. Go. He has done nothing! Something you’d know if you’d just asked me first. You haven’t changed, Kei. You were always deciding for me.
(Snide) - Now, if you really want to make up for before, start by not arresting my friends.
Description: Keith (Basitin) is another one of the protagonists of TwoKinds. He is an exile from his homeland, on a journey to restore his honor.

[Keith first meets Trace]
I already told you! I’m not a Keidran!
Just call me Keith. My people need your help with a political problem.
Trace: Well, I’m sort of on an adventure already.
Then I will join you. We can travel to my city later. Gather any supplies you need and meet me by the town gates in an hour.
[Natani is urging Keith to say goodbye to the illusion of Laura he has created for him]
No. I won’t do it. I’m not letting you go. Not again.
No matter what happens… you won’t be alone this time.
[Keith is getting defensive, not wanting to lose this illusion of Laura]
Shut up, Natani! Don’t talk about her like that! Laura is not an “it”! She’s real!
Natani: He’s only saying that because he desperately wants it to be true! Of course the fake would say it’s real! Flora, tell your human to dispel it!
She’s not a fake! I know Laura. I can tell!
Description: Natani (Wolf Keidran) is the fourth and final protagonist of TwoKinds. He is an assassin, working with his older brother, Zen. Natani is trans, his identity originally stemming from a mental-link with his brother, but he slowly realizes that it's been a part of him all along.

- Natani is biologically female but generally passes as male, so I'm looking for someone who can pull off a pretty androgynous tone.
- There are scenes where we see a "Young Natani". I'm looking for someone who can portray two slightly different voices to represent the two ages we see him as.

[Natani taunts Trace in their first encounter]
(Impressed) - Clever, Templar, very clever. You have better control of your power than I thought!
Trace: (thoughts) Need to… heal myself while I can…
(Cocky) - Not so fast, Human! Let’s see how well you fight without your magic!
Trace: Ah!
Pretty clumsy without your right hand, aren’t you?
[Natani explains the origins of his mental link with Zen]
(Matter of factly, informative) - I became linked with my brother after our very first “solo” mission for the Brotherhood. It was supposed to be easy. Just kill an old wolf named Issac as he traveled alone between villages.
What we didn’t know was that Issac knew forbidden magic, and was willing to use it.
The curse I was hit with was a terrible one. It didn’t hurt me physically, but rended my mind and damaged a portion of my soul. Although physically fine, I was as good as dead.
[Natani has to explain why "Laura" is there, even after she passed away]
It’s not a ghost! That’s what I’ve been trying to explain! She’s an illusion — a spell that creates your heart’s desire, while leeching away your life in exchange. And if it’s not taken care of, it’s going to end up killing him!
Description: Zen (Wolf Keidran) is the brother of Natani. He is an assassin, first sent to kill Trace and Flora, later given the task to take on "Team B", but eventually joins the group. Zen comes off as a bit aloof and cocky, but when you get to know him, he's a pretty friendly guy who cares deeply for his sibling.

[Zen is talking to Natani and realizes... he lost his robes]

[Someone taunts Zen with threats of hurting his brother]
(Protective) - I won’t let any of you lay a hand on Natani, you son of a bitch!
Description: Sythe (Wolf Keidran) is Flora's ex, whom she was engaged to for diplomatic purposes. He also served as a liaison for Wolves and Humans, but became an outcast for betraying his people. He joined his old human friends, becoming a part of "Team B".

[Team B is setting a trap to catch Zen, and Sythe is the bait, going out into the woods alone after faking a fight with Red]
(Determined) - No! I can’t let myself think like that! I made up my mind and there’s no going back! I just have to keep running!
[Sythe was just arguing with Red about how they will handle their current situation, with Maren and Karen poisoned and unconscious]
(Facetious, tone of self-pity) - I’ll just stand guard in silence, then, since that’s all I’m good for. Maybe if I’m lucky, that assassin will have an extra sleep dart waiting for me.
(Yelling in frustration) - GRRAHHHH!!
(Angry, frustrated) - You've ruined everything! I’ve been labeled a traitor! I have no way to get home now! All because of you guys!
Description: Maren (Human) is the owner of the tavern from Trace's hometown, and his former girlfriend. She is mature and bossy, liking to have things her way. Her calm demeanor only lasts so long before she loses her cool. She is a part of "Team B".

(Matter-of-factly) - Karen? No, of course not. Everyone knows she was cursed by Trace years ago. Karen seemed to like it though, and has had the ears ever since. But that’s history.
[Maren slaps Trace across the face after disappearing for a month without telling her]
(Relieved, but angry) - You know darn well what that was for! Where have you been in the last month? Out hunting those blasted Keidran again, no doubt. But then you go missing and word goes ‘round that you’re dead! Do you know how worried I was? As your girlfriend, I should know where you’re going.
[Karen pulls Trace away]
HEY! You two get back here! I’m not done yelling!
[Maren is shocked when Red actually watched what he says and DOESN'T say something offensive about Keidran]
(Taken aback) - …Did sword-for- brains just… think before talking for once? I don’t even know how to react to that. This is truly a sign of the apocalypse.
Description: Karen (Human, cursed to have Keidran features), is the sister of Maren and helps run the tavern with her. Being a bit younger, she is quite immature and playful. She is a part of "Team B".

Y-you know, Maddie, I’m really not usually the cautious type, but… I’m kinda getting a bad feeling about this place…
[They are attacked by a large statue that has come to life]
Hey Scaly! Over here! Yaaaaah!!
[She tries to hit the statue]

Description: Euchre (Wolf Keidran able to transform into a Human) was an indentured servant, but learned a spell called "Flawless Transformation" that allowed him to take on a Human form. With this ability, he began to study at the Templar college, and is now a member of the Master Templar. He is also the father of Raine.

(Matter-of-factly) - Trace was very important to the Templars, even if some of them might want him out of the way… But there’s someone I know who I suspect is behind this… Someone who cares nothing for the fate of neither Human nor Keidran.
Young Euchre:
[Euchre tries to defend himself turning into a human to go to Edinmire, despite the obvious risks]
(Eager, defensive) - Rose, you know how much magic means to me. Think of all the knowledge I could gain from them! What the humans are doing with magic is incredible. They have theories, formulas… their magic is an art! And their college is the only place I can learn it.
Description: Nora (Dragon) is an ally of Trace, having helped him throughout his journeys. She is a guardian, watching over him and keeping him and his group safe.
Voice: Mid-low to low

Trace… I know you want to help them, but… maybe you could stay here for a while? At least until I fall asleep…
(Sensitive) - It would be safe here, and… I’d feel better if I wasn’t going into this long sleep alone…
[Nora shows up to help finish up a fight]
Trace, I’ll finish him off! Don’t go overboard like you usually do…!
Description: Laura (Fox Keidran) is the ex-fiance of Keith, before she disappeared. She is timid and emotionally fragile, always being as polite as possible to avoid any conflict.

Keith… I’ve missed you so much.
Keith: Laura…
Keith, why are you crying? Everything’s alright. We’re together now.
Keith: I’m sorry. Laura, I’m so sorry. I put you in danger. It’s my fault you’re gone.
But I’m not gone. You brought me back, and we never have to be alone again. You saved me. So please don’t be sad, Keith.
Description: Sirus (Human) is a member of the Grand Templar, and a former friend and peer of Trace. However, now that Trace has lost his memory, Sirus shows up in different places in different disguises to watch and lead Trace where he wants him to go.

We caught this Keidran skulking around the edge of the village using an adorable little illusion charm. Unfortunately for her, the town guards saw through it the moment the spy opened her mouth. Quite a strong rural Keidran dialect, you know?
Description: Mary (Human, cursed to have a Keidran form), is a former Grand Templar and the mother of Raine. She is a strong and confident woman, not afraid to stand up for what she thinks is right.

He is strong, there is no doubt. But he has no heart. He does as we say, he follows our orders. But I don’t think we’ve seen what he can really do.
[Mary finds out that Euchre is actually a Keidran and has been lying to her]
(Enraged) - Euchre... you... BASTARD! You lied to me… this whole time!
No! No more lies, Euchre! I questioned Rose. I looked into her mind. She couldn’t lie to me.
I know that you never planned to tell me what you really were, or that you were willing to sacrifice your OWN COUSIN to make sure it was never found out!
Description: Brahn (Human) is a member of the Master Templar, with the title of "Master Seer". This comes from "his ability" to observe people through the eyes of animals. However, it is actually the power of his daughter, not his own.

Good afternoon. If I may have everyone’s attention. I am Seer Brahn. I want to thank you, noble tigers, for accepting our humble invitation.
And thank you, good folk of Edinmire, for welcoming them. I know our relationship with the beast folk has been strained, now more than ever. But it’s important to remember that tigers are not wolves.
And keidran, like all people, are not made equal. So, welcome, friends.
(Matter-of-factly) - The Basitin are who we should be concerned about. They may not be our enemy now, but who knows who those beasts will side with when war breaks out. We cannot afford to fight on two fronts. Especially with a race like the Basitin.
Descriptions: Keiren (Human) is the captain of Edinmire's guard. He is the son of Flora's former master.

I’m just here to tell you to keep the main road clear. We’ve got a procession coming through soon, so if you’re here for that, you need to be down in Shepherd’s Square.
[Keiren realizes who he is talking to]
(Shocked) - W-wait! Did he just say… it can’t be! You back there! Did he just call you “Flora”?
That face! It is you! I can’t believe it!
Don’t… don’t you recognize me? It… it’s me, Keiren!
Descriptions: Saria (Human) is the late wife of Trace.

[Saria sees Trace for the first time since he went missing]
(Shocked, relieved) - T-Trace…. is it really you?
I ca-can’t believe it. It’s been so long…You never wrote to me like you said. And none of my letters…
[Saria's soul is finally able to come to rest]
(At peace) - Trace, seeing you in this brief moment in time… has brought me greater happiness than I fear you will ever understand.
For a while.. I’d thought you’d never be happy again.I am glad you’ve found someone that can make you smile once more. Even if she is… a Keidran..
I hope you will forgive me someday, Trace. I just.. couldn’t bear… couldn’t bear to burden you…

Description: Ephemural / Neutral (Demigod) is an antagonist of the first few chapters of TwoKinds.

- Ephemural's voice needs to sound just a bit creepy and intimidating.

[Ephemural has possessed Flora in order to fight and defeat Trace]

Keith: Trace! It’s Ephemural! She’s possessing Flora and tainting her mind!
Wrong, Keith… I am only saying what Flora cannot. These are her true feelings..
(Defensive) - Wrong! I do not involve myself with the petty quarrels of you Templar mortals. I care not for Trace’s fate!
There are many minor roles and extras throughout all of TwoKinds. This role in particular will cover some smaller roles, such as Daniels, Alice, Carver, Brutus, Iris, Roan, Romulus, Remus, Musclehead General, the Basitin Doctors, and so on.
It will also cover a TON of Basitin Soliders, Templars, and other Humans, Keidrans, and Basitins.
Simply record lines that fit your vocal range, age range, etc.!

[Playing]
Child: Aaah! It's a tiger! Run!
[Reluctant]
Basitin Doctor: Miss, I’m sorry. As I said before, we can’t allow you to go into other patients’ rooms. Sigh… Well… there are laws that make exceptions for family or couples…
[Was just attacked, reporting to his captain]
Daniels (Soldier): Ngh— Couldn’t reach the docks… magic circles in the fields… Whole city is surrounded.They were cloaked, I couldn’t tell for sure. But their emblems… They were dressed like Templar.
[Ready to fight Flora and Natani]
Musclehead General: Armed? Fah! What need do I have for weapons? It would be shameful just to scuff this armor in battle to the likes of villains such as you!
[Matter-of-factly]
Basitin Doctor: It’s for privacy. Many Basitin would be unwilling to receive treatment if there was a chance of being exposed. In fact, many would also be unwilling if it were public knowledge that they needed help at all.
