True Treasure - SCAD Animated Student Capstone Film 2023
Project Overview
Hello! I'm Cassie, art director and music composer for the SCAD 2023 Animated Senior Capstone film, True Treasure. The film is a 3D animated film with 2D effects and features an enemies-to-lovers pirate action story told through an original sea shanty. The sea shanty is a duet between our main characters, Bonnie and Jordan, and our team is currently looking for singers to provide their vocals! As of right now, the film is in production (meaning we are in the animation stages) and is set to be completed Spring 2023.
Auditions will be listened to and the roles will hopefully be cast by January 25th.
IMPORTANT:
1. You MUST be able to provide clean, high quality recordings. Your final recordings will be passed onto our music producer to produce the final music. Make sure your audition has samples of the best recording quality you can feasibly provide, since low quality auditions will automatically be tossed out of the running.
2. Make sure your voice can be heard clearly in your audition. Samples with multiple voices will make it difficult for us to tell which is yours. Excessive music and vocal production will also make it difficult to hear your natural voice. The simpler the better in terms of singing samples.
3. Because this is a student film, we do not have the means to pay you for your work. You will be properly credited within the film when we submit to festivals, competitions, etc. as well as on social media and anywhere else that the film is posted.
4. Due to film festival guidelines, you will NOT be able to share any info on the film until we say so, aside from mentioning your involvement. You will also not be able to share your singing of the actual sea shanty until given explicit permission. Sharing details on the film may disqualify it from being eligible to enter certain festivals, competitions, etc. More on this will be discussed if you are cast.

Captain Bonnie is a fiery and expressive spirit, not afraid to do what she wants, when she wants. Though she wishes to be the best pirate in all the seven seas, she will always put the wellbeing of her crew first. Her greatest rival is Captain Jordan, who always seems to be one step ahead of her. She is inspired by the real-life pirate, Anne Bonny.
For Bonnie, we are looking for a strong, clear voice with a vocal range of F3-D5 and that sounds female/feminine.
Some vocal references: Annapatsu (specifically her Wellerman cover), Amalee, Carrie Underwood, Halsey, Lana Del Ray, Christina Aguilera

Captain Jordan is a more reserved character, though cocky in her strength and power. Even though she has the means for much bigger heists, Jordan enjoys crashing in on Bonnie's plans (and her crewmates think she does it for Bonnie's attention, even though she denies it). She is inspired by the real-life pirate, Mary Read.
For Jordan, we are looking for a strong but deeper/more androgynous voice with a vocal range of F3-B4, possibly with some rasp/husk.
