The Weaver's Curse Ch. 1 Audio
Project Overview
The Weaver's Curse is an original LGBTQ+ indie-published fantasy novel by Nuria Cain. She has given me permission to create an audiobook immersion of the first chapter of her novel, and then release it on my Youtube Channel. This immersion will be similar to an audiobook but with voice acting and soft background effects.
This is a paid project, but only the first chapter will ever be made. This will not be continued afterwards. It is a preview for those interested in the book.
Warning: This book contains mature scenes that aren't suitable for younger readers. The first chapter does not feature this, but you will be connected to a book that has "spice" scenes in it.

Payment
I'm not sure how long it will take to record each line, but there is a flat rate for each character. It ranges from $2-80 depending on how many words the characters speak.
(Nonnegotiable) Payment is through PayPal in the US Dollar Only. I will not send money through any other program. Payment will be sent after lines have been reviewed and received. If you're established on CCC, I can do half upfront (meaning your profile isn't empty and you've applied to other projects)
Requirements
To be eligible for payment, you must provide me with an email to your active PayPal account
This is 18+ since the book later contains mature sexual content and your voice may be connected to a character in those scenes (You will not be doing anything NSFW)
Lines need to be sent in either .wav or .mp3 format.
Include a discord in your audition or have it linked on your account.
I will edit the audio if needed, but no excessive background noise (fans, traffic, talking, etc.)
Please audition with at least two takes, but you do not need to provide multiple takes upon casting.
Who am I?
My name is Valentine and I actually used to be an active voice-actor on here, under another username. I'm pretty familiar with the community, audio editing, and directing. I'm the creator of the youtube channel, Antonella, which is still a work in progress.
Nuria Cain is a 23 year old queer author from Portugal. Her debut book, The Weaver's Curse, was published in December of 2023. You can find her on Goodreads or under the TikTok Account, @nuriawrites.

The narrator has the most lines and narrates the story (yeah, very descriptive). I'm looking for a professional tone, but not a flat-monotone-robotic voice. There needs to be a nuance to the words, but not so emotional that it overpowers the other character's lines.
I would prefer a mature female voice with a storyteller tone, but I'm open to genders and interpretations. I am looking for an adult voice, as not to be confused with the young adult characters.
Payment: The narration contains around 2,520 words and payment is $80.
Since the lines are long, feel free to choose one line and do two takes, or one take of each. Just keep in mind this is a role that will require extensive reading upon casting.
There is nothing to be afraid of in Amomoz. A sanctuary buried under the dribbling mist that sweeps the valley, surrounded by trees that do not dare to speak. The sheep can roam as much as they like, for there are neither hunger, wolves, nor uncertain roads for them to venture on. The air is fresh, the water is untainted.
Nobody knows what truly happened to Elinoire, the twenty-eighth daughter of a faraway town’s Matriarch. There had been nothing left of the daughter except her mangled head; her jaw beyond broken, mouth impossibly wide. Her mother soon vanished, and other telltales claim she returned to the woods that took her own daughter’s life and offered them her own, so that their souls could be together again.
Sometimes she hears Scorpio stomping angrily from the bedroom next door, a sound that has become familiar despite its irritating nature. Some nights, Echo is able to hear the soft incantations that Mom sings in the dead of night, but not this time. There is only the faraway thunder.
Echo of Celandine is the 20 year old protagonist of the Weaver's Curse. She's a tragic character ("a little sad, a little doomed, but also really funny"). She has a Blessing that is considered weaker than the rest of her family, the ability to speak with ghosts. She's not content with her life and she fears that she may have to become a Matriarch-- a woman who has to give birth to multiple children-- like her mother.
Voice: Feminine, Medium-Low but leaning towards Medium.
Payment: She speaks around 360 words and payment is $15. She does not have very many wordy lines compared to other characters.

(Curious) Who speaks in this damned tongue, anyway? I've never heard anything like it.
(Mischevious) A delivery? I guess that means I can poke around, then..
Peridot is a ghost, around 20 years of age (although, he hasn't aged since death). He is one of Echo's close friends. He's generally sarcastic and doesn't hesitate to lie for fun, but he cares about Echo.
Voice: Up to interpretation
Payment: He speaks around 140 words and payment is $10

Scarlet is Echo's blind brother. He's 21, about a year older than her. He's mature and enjoys solitude.
Voice: Up to interpretation, but looking for a mature, intellectual voice.
Payment: He speaks around 500 words and payment is $20. His lines are longer than Peridot's.

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you. But it worries me that I do not know how my family will turn out. The cards tell me everything except this. Sometimes I fear fate is being woven, as if it's undecided...
Pretty much everyone has placed bets on it, even our neighbors. I wanted to know what you thought of it..
(joking) Oh, I didn't tell you? I see everything.
The mother of Echo and her siblings. She's a Matriarch who has given birth to many children. She only has one line.
Voice: Mature female, but otherwise up to interpretation.
Payment: She says two sentences, that has about 38 words, so I'm totaling this to $2. This shouldn't take very long to record.
