The Durp Family [Roblox Bloxburg Roleplay Series]
Project Overview
The series will have 5 episodes. If it does well, it can be continued. If it doesn't, it might not be. If each episode gets over 800 views, it will be considered a success!
If you've been on my channel, you might see some veeeerrry cringe content. Please don't be alarmed. This series will be nothing like the videos on my channel. Those are unscripted and improvised, this is (hopefully) well-written and features some tongue-in-cheek humour, as well as the semi-cheesy lessons that come along with a family sitcom.
How they sound:
Main Cast
- Momma:
(40-years-old, female) Momma (aka Lisa) is a stern but nurturing mother. She can have a high voice or a lower voice, but she always speaks with a sense of care and love for her kids. She gets upset with them when they misbehave though, so if you are auditioning for this role, please have some range and be able to get angry and yell without screaming.
- Poppa:
(41-years-old, male) Poppa (aka Alan) is a typical father, strong-willed and a firm believer in the family structure. He should have a deep stern commanding voice, with the ability to let his guard down and be a shoulder to lean on. When he's happy, you can really hear the excitement in his voice. Poppa will scold the kids quite often, so please be able to get angry (but not too over the top).
- Aydan:
(15-16-years-old, male) Aydan (pronounced Aiden...it's only spelled like this 'cause all the other names were taken lol) is a bit of a complex character. He's going to start out the series feeling left out and secluded, even from his own family. Whenever he speaks to his family (especially Aaleyah, Audrey, and Poppa), he sounds a bit annoyed and wants them to leave. However, he's gonna have some sad moments too, so please be able to switch from annoyed, angry, happy, excited, and sad. His feelings are really over-the-top. When he's annoyed, he's really annoyed. And when he's angry, it's a messy mix of anger, confusion, and hurt.
- Audrey:
(10-11-years-old, female) Audrey is a mini-socialite of sorts, obsessed with everything she sees as "elite". When around her friends, she's gonna speak in a bit of a "valley-girl" voice (think...Paris Hilton..?), and when she's pretending to be fancy. But when she's upset, her real voice comes out, and she'll sound sad, soft, and sweet. Eventually, she'll grow out of this, and mature into a nice girl with a regular voice. For this role, please don't sound too old (she's a kid after all) and just sound like a convincing 11-year-old, please!
- Grandma:
(67-years-old, female) Not much to say about her. She's an elderly woman, who's sweet and caring. However, when she's around her neighbour Earl, she'll get really excited and giggly. For this role, please sound like a sweet grandma with all of the care in the world. (You don't have to be old for this role lol).
- Granny:
(68-years-old, female) Poppa's mom. She's snarky, catty, and constantly making snide remarks under her breath. But she's always ready to change her tone and sound kind towards her grandchildren. For this role, please be able to change from condescending to sweet.
Supporting Roles:
- Earl:
(70-years-old, male) Grandma's neighbour. Eventually, they'll get together. Please sound like an earnest, elderly man for this role.
- Rachel:
(15-16-years-old, female) Aydan's secret girlfriend. Please sound like a teenage girl for this role.
- Caleb:
(14-years-old, male) The Durp's annoying neighbour. Perhaps a potential love interest in the future.
Momma:

[You're coming back home from a long trip and find the house in a gigantic mess] (angry) "Goodness gracious! We left you guys home alone for ONE DAY and you've already turned the house into a pig pen!"
[You're reassuring your kids who are afraid of moving from home] (speaking softly) "It's gonna take some adjusting...but it'll all be okay in the end. We're gonna get through this. Together. Because we're family."
[You're driving the minivan on a long road trip, trying to keep your insanely bored kids a little entertained] (goofy) "C'mon kids! Join in! It's fun! See, we're having a good time! Right? Kids?" *looks behind* (frustrated) "Those darn phones! I don't wanna see them at all! Capeesh? Hand 'em in!" *snaps fingers* "You're not gonna use them at all while you're at Grandma's house. Understood?"
[You're frustrated with your son, not understanding why he doesn't wanna watch football with you] (confused), "Aydan! I'm sorry, but what's going on, kiddo? We used to watch the big game together all the time."
[You're advising your daughter on how to deal with her "friend" who's being teased] "Well, y'know...tell your friend she's gotta...hit him back with an insult. In my day, a classic "Yo Momma" could get you far, but I'm not sure that's what you kids still say these days."
(15-16-years-old, male) Aydan (pronounced Aiden...it's only spelled like this 'cause all the other names were taken lol) is a bit of a complex character. [You're shooing your sister of your room so you can Facetime your secret girlfriend] (annoyed) "Y'know what...all of your advice is crap. You didn't help at all. Just get out. Please! I have stuff to do."
(upset, on the verge of tears) "Mom. We can't move. We just can't!" (Mom: why?) "B-because! I don't wanna leave Sunset Valley..." *stands up* (angry) "You can't make me leave! I'm not leaving!" *storms upstairs*
[You're thanking your sister for saving your mess of a relationship] "Wait up! I just...I wanted to say...thank you...for...helping me out with Rachel. I mean it. I don't know how I'm ever gonna repay you..."
(10-11-years-old, female) Audrey is a mini-socialite of sorts, obsessed with everything she sees as "elite". [whiny and bratty] "You just don't GET IT! My hair has to be perfect! You only get one first impression in school and I don't wanna waste it." (Aaleyah: Shut up Audrey. Your hair looks fine) "Easy for you to say, you don't caaaare about how ugly you look."
[upset, close to crying, angry, frustrated] "They used me. They used me for everything I had...and I let them! It's not fair...I just wanna have good friends...is that so much to ask for?"
[You're sharing your gratitude at Thanksgiving dinner] (soft and nice) "Hmmm...okay...I got it! I'm thankful for...family. And having a roof over my head and a bellyful of food every day. Oh! And my phone. I'm very thankful for my phone."

[Your grandkids are coming to stay for the weekend] (happy, excited) "Oh my sweethearts! Come in, it's so cold out there! Aw, you all look so grown-up. My my, Aydan! Look how tall you've gotten!"
[Your handsome neighbour Earl is coming over to help fix your broken kitchen sink] (giggly, happy) "Thank you for coming Earl. Please, come in! Can I offer you some tea? Some fresh-baked cookies?

[You see your son's wife preparing the Thanksgiving stuffing, and you wish to give her a few pointers] (condescending) "Um...*ahem* Lisa? Are you sure that's how you want to do it? I mean... *chuckles* that just seems like it would take longer? Don't you think?"
(muttering under your breath) "Well, that's certainly ONE way to go about it..."
[You're seeing your grandchildren for the first time in months, ready to spoil them with gifts] "Oh my dears! Hello! Don't worry, I've brought preeeeesents! *laughs heartily* Christmas is truly the best time of year."
