Once upon a time, in 1918, a boy and a girl fell in love. The boy's name was William Green, and the girl's name was Ruth Smith. Ruth's family never approved of this boy because he came from a poor family and lived in a neighborhood where crime rates were high. The girl didn't care though. The two planned to get married on December 20th, 1919. They thought it was perfect because it could make the holiday season even more special. It's unknown when the dreams started occurring, but it's said that Ruth started having terrible nightmares right around the time she got engaged. The nightmares were all about William murdering Ruth in different ways. People say that her parents caused the dreams because they always told her that William will be the death of her. Which, in a way, they weren't wrong. This is where the story begins.
This story will be on my YouTube channel called Lovely Productions. Link to that is on my profile. This will be my Halloween special. If you are wondering why I'm starting this in August, that's because it's going to take time to audition, get voice lines, and make the entire mini movie all by October 31st. I also have some other projects I'm working on at the moment, so I need all the time I can get. Anyways, I hope you consider auditioning for this. I'm super excited to do this project because it's my first horror story.
Rules:
1. Do multiple takes so I can hear more of what you can do.
2. Have a decent mic.
3. Use as much emotion as you can. That is especially needed in this story.
4. When auditioning, please realize that you will have to meet the deadline to turn in lines, so do not audition for a role if you don't have the time for it.
5. Be willing to redo lines for me if you get the role. I want to make this a really cool and scary video.
6. Read the character descriptions thoroughly and make sure to follow them while auditioning.
7. Have discord. That is how I will be communicating with you once you are selected. It would be appreciated if you put your name and tag in the description of your audition.

Annie is the narrator of this story. She is married to Christopher Valley, and has a son named Liam Valley. She is a caring mother, but she also loves to tease her husband and son. In this story, she is out camping with her family. Her son asks her to tell a scary story at the campfire. Little does Liam know, that what his mom is about to tell him, isn't just a story.
Annie has the most lines, and is probably one of the hardest characters to voice in this story.
Annie has medium-low voice. Most of the time it's smooth and relaxed. The only time this really changes is when she starts to go insane. Then she still has her medium-low voice, she just sounds like a crazy person.
(Whispering) Chris. It's fine. I promise.
(Laughs) Alright, alright. I'll tell the story. (Turns on flashlight) Once upon a time, in 1918, a boy and a girl fell in love. The boy's name was William Green, and the girl's name was Ruth Smith.
{Note: Annie is going insane during this line} (Little Chuckle) I got rid of them. My dreams can finally end. (Insane laughter: Start off as a tiny little chuckle, then let it grow into a full on insane person laugh)
Christopher Valley is Annie Valley's husband and Liam Valley's father. Christopher usually goes by the name Chris. He is a caring father and husband. He will do anything to keep his family safe and happy, even if it upset him. He does like to joke around a bit though.
Chris is an easier character to voice, and he doesn't have very many lines. He is very lovable though.
Chris has a medium pitch voice. It's the kind of voice that can be really expressive and fun, but really comforting when it needs to be.
(Laughs) Not for another few years, kid.
(Shocked/whispering) Are you sure you want to tell this story Annie?
(Comforting) Hey, it's going to be alright. I'll take Liam to his grandparents first thing tomorrow, and then I'll be back to take you to the mental hospital.
Liam Valley is the son of Christopher and Annie Valley. He is 10 years old and he is awnry. He likes to joke around and he loves staying up past his bedtime, although his parents don't always allow it. Even though he's awnry, he loves his parents and he's an innocent little boy.
Liam doesn't have many lines, and depending on the pitch of your normal voice, he might be an easy character to voice act. I'm pretty sure he would be a fun one to do though.
Liam's voice is probably medium pitch for his age. He hasn't hit puberty yet, but he doesn't sound like a 6 year old. His voice is also energetic.
Of course I'm sure! (In a buff voice) I'm a man.
(Annoyed) Stop flirting or whatever you're doing and tell me the story!
(Feeling like he just got ripped off) Wait. Why are you telling me this? I asked for a scary story, not a love story!
Ruth Smith is the daughter of Martha and Walton Smith. She has 3 brothers who are all older than her. She is also engaged to a guy named William Green. She is 18 during the time of her story, which is in 1919. Ruth is the main cause of everything in this story. Ruth's parents never liked William. He came from a poor family and they were afraid that he wouldn't be able to provide for her. The two continued to stay together anyways. After awhile Ruth and William got engaged. This made Ruth's parents furious. They started telling Ruth that William will be the death of her. This caused her to start having horrible nightmares. In these dreams, William would be trying to kill her. They got so bad to the point where Ruth felt the only way to stop these dreams was to kill William. Of course Ruth didn't want to kill him because she loved him, but every night, the temptation only grew. She begged her parents to send her away to a mental asylum, but they never listened. You will have to wait until the mini movie is released to hear the rest, but that's her backstory for the most part.
Ruth is the hardest character to voice. She has the 2nd most lines in the mini movie. I would say she is a fun character to voice if you like doing insane people.
Ruth has a medium-high pitched voice. It's a very smooth voice, but not quite as relaxed as Annie's.
(Screams and then is out of breath from running) William! Why are you doing this?! I thought you loved me!!!
(Freaked out/trying to stay calm) Y-yes Mother.. It was only a bad dream.
{Note: Ruth is going insane during this line} (Laughing hysterically) I'll be back in 100 years, and show people the same pain I went through.
William Green is Ruth Smith's fiancé. He loves Ruth with all his heart. He grew up with not much money. That's why he was so grateful that someone who grew up with plenty of money, like Ruth, chose to be with him. The only downside to him is that he's the murderer in Ruth's dreams.
William doesn't have many lines, but it might be a little challenging when he is the murderer in Ruth's dreams.
William has a medium pitched voice. It has some comfort to it except when he's in Ruth's dreams. That part of him sounds crazy and insane.
(Breathing hard/crazy man's voice) Love you? HA! Don't you ever listen to your parents? I don't love you. I'll only be the death of you.
(Happy/Lovingly) I love you, you know that right?
(Terrified) RUTH! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!
Martha Smith is Ruth Smith's mother and Walton Smith's wife. She is a very strict parent. She loves Ruth, but it's hard for her to show it. She also doesn't want to be embarrassed by Ruth. That's one of the reasons Martha doesn't want Ruth getting with William, the boy from a poor family. She's afraid people will make fun of her and her family name. That's another reason why she refuses to have her only daughter, Ruth, go to a mental asylum.
Martha doesn't have many lines nor many challenges.
Martha has a medium-low pitch voice. She has a very strict voice that can sound very demanding at times.
(Annoyed) Then why in the Lord’s name did you have to wake up the entire house?! This has been happening for weeks now!!!
(Tired) Ugh.. What are you doing here at this time Ruth?
(Terrified) RUTH! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!
