WHO ARE WE?
The Dark Lady Podcast is an original horror fiction anthology series that takes audio drama to new extremes. We are a small team of independent writers, voice actors, and horror buffs.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
The Dark Lady Podcast is looking for talented voice over artists for our upcoming 2022 Halloween Special. The Special will feature 3 original stories, including "The Last Carnival." We are looking for passionate individuals who are willing to put forth their best work. We are seeking talent who are team players, are effective communicators, and are able to take constructive criticism.
EPISODE SYNOPSIS
"The Last Carnival" follows the story of Brian Mills, a 17-year-old boy who takes his girlfriend, Lucy, to a local carnival on Halloween 1984. The teenage couple is stalked by a man dressed in a clown costume throughout the night. Things take a turn for the worst when Lucy suddenly disappears.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Talent must be 18 years or older in order to participate in this project.
2. Talent is willing to provide their legal name and sign a work for hire contract.
3. Talent must have a decent microphone with a pop filter. They are expected to have their own editing software and have basic audio editing skills. Voice over artists will deliver clean, high quality audio in WAV format. Audio files must not have pops, hisses, glitches, background noise, white noise, etc.

Looking for a realistic portrayal of a 17-year-old boy. Brian is usually laid back, friendly, and slow to anger.
[BRIAN AS THE NARRATOR]
"There was no mistaking it now. Someone else was in the room with me. There were mirrors everywhere but all I could see was my own reflection. As my eyes searched the glass, I felt a cold breath on the back of my neck."
[STAGE DIRECTION: YORICK CLOWN APPEARS BEHIND BRIAN AND SAYS, "HELLO LITTLE BOY."]
**Brian screams in terror.**
"What the hell man?"
[CONTEXT: BRIAN AND HIS GIRLFRIEND ARE SITTING ON A FERRIS WHEEL. THE CAR IN FRONT OF THEM MALFUNCTIONS AND THEY SEE FOUR PASSENGERS FALL 50 FEET TO THEIR DEATH. BRIAN TRIES TO COMFORT HIS PANICKING GIRLFRIEND.]
"Nothing's going to happen to you "
"I won't let you fall."
"Here."
"Hold onto me."
[CONTEXT: BRIAN IS ATTACKED BY YORICK THE CLOWN. HE TRIES TO RUN AWAY.]
(Screams) "No!"
**Brian screams and struggles.**
Yorick is a tall and lanky man dressed in a clown costume. His face is caked with black and white makeup. There is more to him than meets the eye.
"Who, me? Hmm. How should I explain it?”
“I have a beginning, but no end. And I end all things that begin. What am I?”
"Bah! You're taking to long. Just call me Yorick! Yorick the Clown."
“Where is she?"
**Yorick laughs maniacally.**
"Where is she?"
"Where are you?"
**Yorick laughs louder as Brian runs away from him.**

Hanson is a tall, strong, and authoritative security guard. He cares about his job and does everything by the book.
[Stage direction: The security guard is standing at his post, keeping an eye on the crowd. A teenage boy suddenly appears in front of him, begging for help. The teenager says he’s been attacked.]
“Take it easy! What’s your name? Brian. Okay. Brian, my name is Hanson.”
“I need you to take a deep breath and calm down. Good. Now tell me what happened.”
[Stage direction: Hanson pushes a button on his walkie-talkie to contact his superiors.]
“Base 3. This is portable 9 on channel 1. Please acknowledge..”
“Possible 10-26 at the west gate. Please advise.”
“Affirmative. Roger that.”
“Everything is going to be alright, kid. I’ll take you to the main office so you can call your parents.”
“Ferris wheel? What Ferris wheel? The carnival hasn’t had one in years.”
Caring husband.
[Stage direction: John is arguing with his wife.]
“You didn’t have to snap at her like that. She’s only 6.”
“What do you mean? It’s a merry-go-round!”
“I would have gone on the ride with her and she would have been just fine.”
“Is there something you’re not telling me?
(Concerned.)
“Oh babe. Why didn’t you tell me?”
(Reassuringly.)
“Come on. Let’s go home.”
A timid 6 year old girl.
“Mommy. Who’s that man? Why is he following us?”
“He’s crying.”
“Daddy look! His head is leaking.”
**Claire gasps.**
**Claire screams in surprise.**
