The Call of the Flame (Chapters 3 & 4)
Project Overview
Not long after the Tribe of Gods shaped the world and enkindled the stars, the many races were led to name their lands. The plains of Human Wynland, the dunes of Dwarven Kanduk, the mountains of Orcan Workingar. And the three Gods--as unique in morality as their own elements, bestow their unique elemental magic to the few they deem worthy. Rhuadu—Chieftan of Gods, grants the gift of fire and strength, Duinna—Nature’s Guardian, the power of enchantment and alchemy, and Koannus—the Deep God, grants power over sea and soul.
Three there were. Now only two remain to grant their power.
The story centers on a girl named Bri, a jaded barmaid who's father--the man who slew Rhuadu has passed away, leaving her a struggling barmaid. When a Mage called Villadius find her, he sends her away on a quest across the world to discover how her father killed a God, and how it can either be undone, or done again in the war against the Deep God. Who empowers an Elvan Sorceress across the ocean, the rightful Empress with ambitions to surpass her Empire's former might.

So, yeah! We've completed Chapter 1, it's up on iTunes, Google Play Music, and our website. Now for the continuation. The majority of lead roles have been filled, but there happens to be just one more ...
A series outline has been written as well as four scripts. I'm about half-way done with the first Chapter in terms of audio editing. With luck, I hope to have a release format similar to We're Alive: A Story of Survival. (Albeit a 30 minute format instead of 50).
(Warning: mild language, smoking and alcohol use, battle sequences. TV-14)
Rates:
As of now: compensation for recordings are at $0.17 per script line (essentially a half sentence of 5-8 words). Rounded off to the highest. Despite that, no role--even if it's 1 line, would be compensated less than $3.
As for singing parts, I will compensate at the same rate per minute of music as the composers, which is $9 per minute of music in addition to compensation for lines.
For example Bri, who speaks 169 times in Chapters 1 & 2 together (313 script lines), is $53. A reoccurring role like Ultovin would make $15 for his appearance in Chapters 1 & 2.
We will have a Patreon page, and the podcast will be open for sponsors. If/when it gains some traction, all rates will be put into review. But until then I’m going in under the assumption it’ll fall completely on me for funding, which I’m totally prepared for. Still, I want to be fair, but at this time this is the only rate I can promise—it’s also the rate for which I’ve paid voice actors before for other projects.
Above all, I want to work with people who love voice acting for the fun of it. I love working on this stuff and hope to collaborate with people who love it too.
How to Audition:
- Send them to us here, or at [redacted]. Subject: Audition for (character name) from (username). Send them as either an attachment or a link, but preferably an attachment.
- Make sure to minimize noises or bumps while recording. Only your voice should be apparent. If you like to filter or remove vocal tics, be sure to include the unfiltered version as well.
- Record in .WAV.
- Save as: cotf_username_audition (ex. CotF_Taruk_RubbishMan_audition.wav).
- We will critique if requested. We also accept redos.
- If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to e-mail us at [redacted].
Since this is an Audio Drama, all of the show's emotion and humor must be conveyed through the character's voices, so be sure to show off your emotional range.
Note: We value acting ability over a voice that matches a character, so don't let your vocal pitch deter you from auditioning.
We welcome auditioning for multiple roles as long as you can make each of them a bit different!
We look forward to working with you guys! Also happy to answer any and all questions in comments or as a PM. Or even directly sent to my email.

Hello all and thank you for sticking around during this whole process. This Sunday the release of The Call of the Flame Chapter 2 Part 2 took priority (on Google Play and iTunes plug plug plug). But now I can focus on casting. Here's what to expect: Who we cast first is a question of priority, so lead characters, or characters appearing as early as Chapter 3 will be taken care of first (also gives me time to really sift through the 60 auditions for Eren). So to give an idea, we'll first be casting: The Nix, The Nokken, and Myrtle. Remaining characters are from Chapter 4 and will be casted not long after that. Stay tuned!

Deadline moved up two days.
Hello all! Because of the tremendous amounts of auditions we've been getting I've decided that by the end of today I'll be closing it off so that I can finalize our choices by Sunday.
Myrtle is a Halfin--the small folk of this world. Her land is Buri--a location inspired by New Zealand culture, basically a smattering of English and Maori halfling cultures. From a magical order known as the Incanters, who are essentially Witches that dabble in living energy. Because the Incanters were responsible for the creation of Vampires in the earlier that century, they are outcasts in most lands, outlawed in others.
Despite this, she's excitable, fidgety, and a little shy. A gentle soul, who would rather refrain from using her magic to bring harm, but cure disease. She devotes much of her time reading and refining her craft for this purpose.
Voice: New Zealand accent, higher pitch than normal though not too exaggerated. I encourage improvising some of her fidgeting and stumbling on words.
Well, I don't have much going on at the moment. I um, well I will be leaving my garden behind, my shack, and old Kuma here. But I can use an incantation if they wilt. I will join you!
[About her tree monster] I didn't ask him attack you! I'm sorry, he's with me I uh ... I made him. This is Kuma, a tree guardian. What are you all doing so far? And so late? Did you see my signs? Oh ... I probably should have made them Human height, but I can't reach.
[Are you a Witch?] Well I don't know about that, I mean I dabble in Duinna's magics and yeah, let me try ... nanevran Duinna zankanta, sasvren ayansalu, leshir vuura vane ... Or was it vane vuura? [Translation: Duinna, sister of Earth, give your blessing to this common blade.]
Once a man, he was afflicted with the Night's Plague--a creation of the Incanters in a move of alchemical warfare. Not a curse, not a plague, but both. Like many Vampires, he died a Human man, and was born again with nothing but faint collections of memories and a thirst to take blood and spread his affliction. But unlike his savage brothers and sisters, he survived all these years in the shadows, and re-learned what he lost. Words, language, senses. And gained some self awareness in the process. Considering his victims and sires (usually Halfins) family, and building a village within the Maaka Mountains, where their victims are imprisoned and drained of their life force. Hating the blood having kind, condemning them when he can for what they take for granted.
Voice: Hoarse, dry, and in continuous pain, loathing, and hunger. He's proud, and considers himself both King and father of his Vampire sires.
All you creatures think you are different from one another, Elvans, Dwarves, Humans. But all of you have blood running through your veins. Do you know what it gives you? I know only what it takes away. Without blood, your veins become winter, your bones a prison, your mind your master ... and it says ... FEED.
Very well. If your blood does not feed my children, then it will feed my AX!
A Nixie-or Neck. A Mermaid or Siren-like creature of this world, specifically the German variation. Who comes across our voyagers, and senses their wants and desires. Some want love, some want an escape, others want fortune. Whatever it is, she will make them think she has it, and lull them to the edge of their boat one by one before snatching them to the depths.
For some context, these creatures are an abomination. A hybrid between natural beings (Elvans, Humans, Orcs) and a supernatural deity devoid of any redeeming qualities. The result is Nixes and the male Nokkens, who hunger for living energy as their supernatural parent, but uses their natural talents to gain this.
Voice: Melodic, seductive. The sort of voice that would make someone blush, with a subtle hint of danger that anywhere else is attractive, but here should be taken as a warning. I'm not picky about accents in this instance.
[Come Little Children]
Hush now, dear children
It must be this way
To weary of life and
Deceptions
Rest now, my children
For soon we'll away
Into the calm and
The quiet[My Jolly Sailor Bold]
Her name it is Maria, she’s a merchant’s daughter fair,
She’s left her home and family and three thousand pounds a year,
Her heart is pierced by Cupid’s dart; she shuns all glittering gold,
And there’s nothing can console her but her jolly sailor bold.
The male counterpart to the Nixie--the Nokken. A Merman. Who comes across our voyagers, and senses their wants and desires. Some want love, some want an escape, others want fortune. Whatever it is, she will make them think she has it, and lull them to the edge of their boat one by one before snatching them to the depths.

Voice: Melodic, seductive. Protective and reassuring. The sort of voice that would make someone blush, with a subtle hint of danger that anywhere else is attractive, but here should be taken as a warning. I'm not picky about accents in this instance.

Into the calm and
The quiet[Trust in me]
Trust in me, just in me
Shut your eyes and trust in me
You can sleep safe and sound
Knowing I am aroundSlip into silent slumber
Sailing on a silver mist
Slowly and surely your senses
Will cease to resist
The son of the Legendary Ardrun (this world's King Arthur). A man lacking the deeds behind his name, only the blood. The time of Ardrun was the first sign that the Elvan Age had come to an end, and a new age, an Age of Humans is next. So the pressure is on, to carry on that legacy. Though his followers are skeptical if he can keep it up. He's weighed down by his decisions. Between the rise of Neradial--the Dark Bride, the fall of the Magnir, and the Grave Pestilence, he's grown weary.
Voice: He carries himself with dignity, but lacking in natural majesty or command. His presence doesn't fill a room as it should.
Thank you Master Ultovin. I am relieved to hear that you are willing to lend us your ... talents, as a servant of the Deep God. But from the moment I could speak, to this day, I prayed to the Chieftan of Gods. As did every soul in the Wynland Kingdom. As did my father King Ardrun. Though the Chieftan of Gods has fallen silent, the Deep God will never take his place in worship.
When Vampires are born, they lose all memory. Thus, they are primative, and speak with poor diction. All sires were taught by Eren, their sire and King.
Voice: Hoarse, dry, and in continuous pain, loathing, and hunger. Their accent stems from their sire--Eren. Who taught them to speak.
We not eat him, but we still rip his entrails open! If you not stop!
Now we FEED! (Hisses)
Halfin are the small folk of this world. These Halfins are from Buri--a location inspired by New Zealand culture, basically a smattering of English and Maori halfling cultures.
Voice: New Zealand accent, higher pitch than normal though not too exaggerated. Stern and unfriendly.
WARNING! This character will have to scream "Fire!" at one point.
I see ... As long as you have the coin for it. There's four big folk sized beds available. A Halfin sized bed will have to do for the Dwarf.
What is the meaning of this!? Who's responsible for this!? Was it you girl!?
That is $50 per video, lasting on average 15 minutes. It will be on a per minute of edited footage basis as per the description above.
I do two web projects online, I use the same editing software for both, Song Vegas Platinum 15, and I’m just looking for some people on here who use it as well who can help out with some projects for some pay.
I have a co-editor, we have a working system of file exchange.
And keep in mind, your edits are assembly edits. Assembling scenes that are by no means, final cut. Often just the first take.
Choosing the best takes of dialogue, vfx, additional audio, and final edit will always be up to me. You set it up I knock it down.
For the call of the flame $4.50 per minute of edited audio (same thing, just no video to edit). Making the budget for editing audio for the Call of the Flame (mostly dialogue and SFX assembly), which are 25 minutes, $100. Again, it'll be mostly me and my co-editor Sasha.
This is the most I can promise at this time. But a rate I can guarantee.
