Project Overview
CURRENTLY AUDITIONING FOR CHAPTER 7 AND EPILOGUE ROLES.
This is a fan dub of the beloved action, platforming RPG, Super Paper Mario! We intend to bring together voice actors of any and all skill levels to bring this story to life. It's a for-fun project that will eventually make its way to YouTube, where anyone can watch. It is an unpaid project since it's just for fun. A lot of the production team is new to this scene, so we're excited to gain new experience through this!
We will be having auditions each month for side characters for each chapter of the game, so stay tuned!
Super Paper Mario is the story of how the four heroes of the prophecy (Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Bowser) and a mysterious pixl, Tippi, come to stop the foreboding tellings of the Dark Prognosticus, and its chosen executor, Count Bleck. It is a delightfully comedic story with its share of tragic beginnings and ends. It is a tale of love.

The young, immature, yet well-intended prince of space. Squirps sometimes isn’t very bright, due to either his age or lack of maturity (much to Tippi’s dismay) or lack of a sense of reading the room. Despite the fact that he is a bit of a mischievous, nuisance child, Squirps is a good kid at heart. He is not revealed to be the Prince until the end of the chapter, in order to protect his identity and the pure heart. His mother hid the pure heart within the Woah Zone from evil and left it up to squirps to lead the heroes to it.
Voice should be medium to high-pitched. Feel free to go nasally or youthful on this one. Squirps is about 10, so however you would portray a young boy is what I want to hear.
While Squirps is male in the story, the voice actor may be of any gender.

[After charging his powers to make a portal appear.] "SUCCESS! ✩"
Fleep is the upbeat, pixl with the power of flipping ambiguous objects in the space-time continuum.
Voice should be medium to medium-high with an Italian accent. 90% of his lines should be sing-songy, if not entirely sung. This part doesn’t need to be overthought, but a simple melody will suffice. The rest is up to interpretation.

[Partially to himself, partially to SQUIRPS and the heroes outside. He is singing joyfully, and a little bit longingly, as he is in need of toilet paper.] "100 years agoooooo, amore! I came in here to go, amore! So bored, so bored, amore! No toilet paper here, amore! I wait 100 yeeeears, amore! What for, what for, amore? Any paaaper, please, amore? Just a sheet for me, amore! Implore, implore, amore!"
Blappy, in all his glory, is a 72-year old, crotchety, old alien fellow, who just happens to have a map. A bit snappy and naggy, especially when he asks for the heroes’ money, but not devious.
Voice should be medium-low to medium-high with a very blatant, typical “old” sound, without losing the words or diction.

[To the heroes, introducing himself. He is very excited that he can find this "treasure", but in a not evil, more just old-person kind of way.] "The name's Blappy. I'm 72. In my youth, while everyone hunted for snacks, I hunted the Big Treasure of Space. It's big. It’s treasure. And it will be mine at last!"
The shopkeeper in the depths of Outer Space, and the heroes are his first customers, which excites him.
Voice should be medium-low to medium-high in pitch but is overall open to interpretation. Note that he says "twinkly" a lot, and he should sound very excited/eccentric.

Merluvlee, much like previous characters, is a mystical descendant of the ancients. She resides as a fortune-teller in flipside. Her character is not much different than Merlee, save for the lack of constant rhyming. Merluvlee’s need for a “Training Device” incites the start of the Piccolo quest.
Voice should be medium to medium-high, and like the character, is not far different from Merlee. There should be a mystical, yet somewhat flighty sense to her voice.

Piccolo is the pixl with the power of music. **PICCOLO IS FEMALE AND I FORGOT TO CHANGE IT. PLEASE MAKE NOTE.**
Voice should be medium-low to medium-high. Be prepared for a lot of onomatopoeias. He speaks rather poetically, and this can be up to interpretation.

[The heroes and TIPPI find him in a box in flopside, dwindling in the enjoyment of creating sounds. His sounds are not obnoxious, but enjoyable, almost musical. His words are poetic.] "DOODLY-DOO! The bird, it warbles, TWEET! The bug, it cries, CHEEP! The frog, RRRRRRIBBIT! The dog, GRRRRRROWF! Goats and cars, BLEEEET! All things sing, you see… To live is to make music! My words… Could it be… I’ve said something poetic? Could it truly be?"
Cragnons are the primitive people.
Voices may vary in pitch but should retain that inevolved, dimwitted character to it. Typical cavemen.
Auditions for the cragnons cover Skarn, Jasperoid, Cragnon Chief, Marbald, Plot-Relevant Cragnon, and Gabbro.

[To TIPPI, a sort of plea for assistance.] "O great servants of Big Rock Who Watches... Cragnons having trouble down here... Serious."
[To DOTTIE, fearing that they have been found by evil.] "Wh-Wh-What we do, brah?!"
The Floro Sapiens are the minions of King Croacus IV who raid the Craglands and kidnap the Cragnons.
Voices may vary in pitch, but all of them should speak with a surfer-dude voice.
There will be four Floro Sapiens cast.

Cudge is the pixl with the power to grant hammer usage to those around him.
His voice should be medium-low to medium in pitch. His dialogue/character has a bit of that chill, gangster vernacular, which should be heard in the voice (think almost Jesse Pinkman, but this is just a reference character, not something to mimic).

Flint Cragley is the famous Cragnon TV reporter personality. He is quite a bit full of himself, yet seems oblivious to this fact. His character is very melodramatic as if he is always live on the air, regardless of if he’s actually on TV or not.
His voice should be medium-low to medium in pitch. Capturing his character is the most important part of his voice.

No one has set foot in this cave and emerged alive. But some make history with sheer gall and willpower...and Flint Cragley is such a man!"
The cameraman and sound guy for Flint Cragley. While they are definitely still dimwitted cavemen like the other Cragnons, they are definitely aware of how stupid and self-absorbed their leader is. They make it work, but are always a little annoyed with him,
Voice should be medium-low to medium in pitch and they should sound like the other Cragnons, basic cavemen, however you choose to interpret that.

[HORNFELS after being asked by FLINT CRAGLEY if he has a key. He knows FLINT has it and is just being stupid again.] "Nah, brah! See... Cragley say, "You lose this, so Cragley hold on to it." Cragley got key, brah..."
Dottie is the pixl with the power to shrink those around her.
Her voice should be medium-low to medium-high. She speaks very calmly, almost poetically. This should be heard in the voice.

King Croacus IV is the ruler of the Cragnons. He is very flamboyant, prideful, and obsessed with all things beautiful. While he has a very vapid personality, his villainy is debatable, since he only kidnapped the Cragnons to halt their pollution of the Floro Sapien lands.
His voice should be HIGH PITCHED. This is very important. Croacus is male, but his voice may come across as much more feminine. He should sound like a typical, snooty, aristocratic monarch. If you've ever seen the pokemon anime and have heard James's weird high pitched laugh (or his higher pitched dialogue at all), it's like that.

The Sammer guys are the warriors of Sammer's Kingdom, who come in a pack of 100 as a grand obstacle for any challenger.
Their voices will vary greatly based on size and dialogue. Since there are so many, I'm looking for unique interpretations. Have fun!
VERY IMPORTANT AUDITION INSTRUCTIONS SPECIFICALLY FOR THE MEDIUM SAMMER GUYS:
You will read ALL of the audition lines in three DISTINCT voices.
HOWEVER, the audition lines for Jade Blooper and Laughing X-Naut will function slightly differently and they have their own audition submissions outside of the rest of the medium Sammer guys.

Jade Blooper is the first of the Sammer guys you encounter. His primary appearance is when he dismisses Heronicus as a coward for admitting defeat in battle against him. Jade Blooper, from his short appearance, is shown to have great pride, courage, and poise, as any typical warrior would.
Voice should be medium-low to medium in pitch. His voice should reflect that prideful, yet admirable foe characteristic. The rest is up to your interpretation.

The King of the Sammer guys (crazy, I know). He is rather oblivious to the fact that his world is on the brink of extermination and insists on a good show of battle, despite the circumstances. Offscreen, he is put into a sleeping state by Mimi so she can ambush the heroes in disguise.
Voice should be medium to medium-high in pitch. He should sound rather amused at all times and speak with a posh British accent.

[Excitingly to the heroes before they go to the second gate.] "The tournament has begun... Let skill decide!"
Laughing X-Naut is the final Sammer guy the heroes encounter before their world is ripped apart. He is found by the heroes on his knees at the mercy of the void, hysterical and defeated by what's going on.
Voice should be medium to medium-high in pitch. The important part about this particular Sammer guy is that he sounds defeated, desperate, and hysterical. His world is about to vanish and he won't have an afterlife. I should be able to hear how he feels about this.

The smallest of Sammer guys. Tiny, but mighty.
Voice should be medium to high in pitch. He is male, but, as with any higher-pitched male character, I'm open to any gender going for the role. He should sound small, but not in too much of a comical way. Small, but feisty (like a chihuahua). You are welcome to use a voice filter for this one if you so choose.
There ARE more than one, but in this dub, we will only encounter one of them, as he is the only required dialogue of any small Sammer guy before the void eats their kingdom.

The largest of the Sammer guys, found at every 10th gate.
Voice should be low to medium in pitch. The most important element of their voice is that they sound big and tough. Use two distinct voices for each line. Koopa in Winter is more of a deep, poetic voice, while Rolling Thwomp is more of a typical brute. The rest is up to interpretation
There ARE more of the big Sammer guys, but we don't encounter the rest during the main story.

Sammer Kingdom's most recent challenger. He forfeits his fight with Jade Blooper in defeat, and we see him flee the arena.
Voice should be medium-low to medium in pitch. He should sound tougher or like he could put up a fight, despite the reality. The rest of the voice is largely up to interpretation.

[After forfeiting to JADE BLOOPER.] "I AM SHAMED!"
Lord Blumiere's (soon to be Count Bleck's) devious, and a little bit eugenist father. He is responsible for kidnapping Lady Timpani and sending her off where she nearly died before being transformed by Merlon, saving her life. His actions are why Blumiere became Bleck and began the prophecy. Yet, he feels no shame for what he did and feels as if it was for his son's benefit and the greater good of the Tribe of Darkness. Truly, a despicable man.
Voice should be low to medium in pitch, but have a distinction from that of Count Bleck's voice (to hear what our Bleck sounds like, go watch the Super Paper Mario: The Prophecy Foretold Prologue on Youtube!). His voice is only ever heard, he isn't ever onscreen, so it's very important we can gauge who he is from voice alone.

The sinners that inhabit the underwhere after their games have ended. This one in particular greets Mario after he's transported there by Dimentio.
Voice is mostly up to interpretation. This Shayde is casual talk, and that's the main thing. The rest is open-ended. Have fun!

Luvbi is the daughter of Queen Jaydes and Grambi. She is extremely haughty, always dropping passive, sarcastic, insulting comments at those around her. When she speaks to herself, her head is in the clouds, often about romance or other grand things. Unbeknownst to her prior to Bonechill's reveal, she is the eighth Pure Heart disguised as a Nimbi, not truly the daughter of Jaydes and Grambi. When she finds out about this, her world is shaken entirely. She starts by being mad at her parents but then realizes she loves them and will miss them for the good of the world.
Voice should be medium to medium-high in pitch. While she speaks in old Shakespearean-like English, she doesn't necessarily have to speak in a British accent. American works just fine too. What matters is that her tone is smooth and aristocratic, as she is essentially a princess. This regality should work with her passive-aggressive comments.

[To the heroes, a healthy mix of genuine concern and condescending sarcasm.] ...Oh, me! Thou returnest? Did thy game truly end this time?
The ferryman of the underwhere. He charges sinners for a ride in his boat across the river Twygz to avoid swimming in the tears of sinners.
Voice should be low to medium in pitch. The pitch itself isn't as important as an ominous or even gritty character voice. He isn't evil, but he is a ferryman in hell. He has a speech pattern where he elongates, or even hisses his "s" sound.

The powerful, esteemed Queen of the Underwhere. She isn't omnipotent, but is certainly one of the most powerful characters in the game. As she runs the game's equivalent of hell, her main concern is for her daughter (the pure heart), Luvbi.
Voice should be low to medium in pitch. She should sound regal, powerful, and motherly. Although she rules over the sinners, she is not evil, only when angered.

Guardian doors of the Underwhere, serving as checkpoints for its various sectors. They are under the direct command of Queen Jaydes. Before letting anyone pass, they test Underwhere travelers via quizzes or battles.

Three elderly, sage women who reside in the Underwhere. They send the heroes on various quests. Their role in the Underwhere is unknown, but their requests imply various connections with other NPCs. Their designs are based on The Fates of Greek mythology.
Voices should be medium-low to medium-high in pitch. Looking for a pretty basic, elderly, witch-like sound. Think Gruntilda. Although these characters are all female, due to the nature of their voices, all genders are encouraged to audition for them.

{HAGNES to the heroes, flirtatiously reminiscent of being young and beautiful.] You may not know it to see me now, but I was a red-hot little tomato back in my day! Boys drooled in my presence. A cloud in the Overthere who dreams of growing into the biggest cloud of them all. Admirably sweet and persistent for such a brief character.
Voice should be medium to medium-high in pitch. Timbre of the voice can vary depending on interpretation. He has a very youthful sense to his character, but that doesn't automatically default to him being younger. Age is also mostly open-ended.
After Cyrrus transforms into Super Cyrrus, his voice transforms into a low to medium-pitched voice that's bigger, deeper, and has more of a boom to it than when he was small, younger sounding regular Cyrrus.

Voices may vary in pitch due to their numbers and variety, but I recommend medium-low to medium-high. Similarly to Luvbi, they all speak in old, Shakespearean-like English, however, this doesn't automatically make their accent British. It could be, but American works just fine as well, as long as they have a smoother, more elitist sound in their voice due to the nature of the old English (not condescending, however).

[NOVBI excitedly presents the Overator to the heroes after having just been saved and reunited with his love.] Behold the Overvator! It transporteth Nimbis upward. I owe thee for thine help. I operate yon lift. Prithee, let me giveth thee a ride.
Wicked creatures who escaped the Underwhere, and the minions of Bonechill, their ferocious leader.
Voices should be low to medium in pitch. Gritty, dry, evil sounds. They work directly under this game's equivalent of Lucifer and I should be able to hear that.
Two (2) Skellobits and a Spikey Skellobit (a skellobit commander) will be cast.

Voices should be low to medium-high in pitch. The four of them should sound decently distinct from one another, but all four are relatively open to interpretation. Like Luvbi and the Nimbis, they speak in old English. Posher, esteemed character voices, but again, can be American or British accent.

[After saving the other NIMBIS, the heroes reach WHIBBI, who apologizes for not being able to stop the SKELLOBITS from reaching GRAMBI's shrine.] I am sorry, Luvbi... I could not stop yon beasts from entering Gambi's shrine.
[REBBI has been fighting the SKELLOBITS without break. When he begins to lose all hope of besting them in battle, the heroes show up to take his place in battle while he rests.]At last! My strength hath reached its end... Please... Thou must finish them!
[As the heroes save BLUBI, he comes to realize that he has completely forgotten everything.]Hold a moment... What am I doing hither?! WHO AM I?! WHERE AM I?! Do I have...AMNESIA?
Ruler/guardian of the Overthere and adopted father of Luvbi. He transforms the Pure Heart into an illusion of a Nimbi child to protect it from evil beings, such as Bonechill, who eventually beats down Grambi and traps him in the shrine before the heroes arrive. Grambi is very wise and grounded. He cares for the world, the Overthere, and his daughter, but approaches all things in a wise way.
Voice should be low to medium in pitch. We should be able to hear his elderliness in his voice, with a wise tone. However, he should not always sound on the verge of collapse. He is old, but not that old and not dying. He should only sound weak in the first audition line when he has been brought down by Bonechill. I should be able to hear the difference after he has his strength back, especially in the last line when he needs to be more stern and authoritative towards Luvbi.

[Scolding LUVBI after she snaps at her mother, JAYDES.] Sayest thou what thou wilt to me, but talketh not to thy mother that way!
The chilling, monstrous overlord of the Skellobits and Super Paper Mario's equivalent of Lucifer. He escaped his captivity in the depths of the Underwhere, invading the Overthere and capturing Grambi. It is Bonechill who reveals to Luvbi that she's actually the Pure Heart, and not a true Nimbi child. Rotten to the core.
Voice should be low to medium in pitch. His tone should be dry and depraved, a little gritty if you so choose, as long as I can clearly hear you. While you have the option to make your audition low in pitch, he shouldn't be booming or have a loud, gusto voice. He is an ice skeleton, and his chilly, monstrous stature should be mimicked in vocal form.

The mysterious, creature of the shadows created by the Ancients that guards the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials. It can analyze anyone and take their form in shadow.
Voice should be low to medium in pitch. Character and tone are mostly up to interpretation, as Shadoo doesn't have too much of a distinct personality, other than wanted to take our place as heroes.

Voice should be low to medium in pitch, similar to Fracktail, but darker and drier in tone. His voice should differ from Fracktail's (for reference, go to the description of this dub, visit the old Casting Call page, and listen to the person who was cast as Fracktail).
You are welcome to use a voice filter, however, you MUST do one take with and one without the filter. This is the only way you are allowed to do more than one take. You MUST also put exactly what voice filter or settings you used if you choose to do this.
