introduction
In the midst of our dark age
the Industrial Revolution happened early,
To early.
Before medieval Europe was ready for it—A new Prometheus of steam, technology and advancement raptured onto those who believed it another fall of man. While some
embraced the newfound enlightenment, most did not. The resulting divide has led to a war between the two ideologies: the technological Corrinia and the medieval Sebastia. A war that has raged for 328 years.
This is the chronicle of Crucible Company. A penal company made of defectors from both sides. Marked expendable, they are sent on the missions deemed most grave.
This is the story of ‘Quilt Section’ and it’s only survivor.
Project Summary
This is the casting sheet for the Story Board of Steel Crusade. My name is Alec Carter. Over the past few years, I have been Writing and Drawing this original manga in the hopes I would be able to publish it. By the end of December, I wish to have the entire first volume of the manga completed.
This will be a ~25 minute storyboard using panels from the manga, including full voice acting. It will be edited, mixed and scored by myself. It is intentioned to use this storyboard as a gateway to future projects. However, elements of this storyboard (including voice acting) may later be distributed and sold publically.
There are 4M, 3FM voices we need including many extra voices.
This project is ADULT THEMED, - and does contain coarse language and violent scenes.
Payments for characters will be listed in their
information pages.
No reimbursement for travel, equipment or studio fees can be given.

Story Summary
Steel Crusade essentially amounts to ‘Steampunk vs Medieval’. Matter of fact grimness against painterly European landscapes and orchestral swells. Odd technologies adapting from centauries of diverse conflict.
We follow ‘Quilt Section’. A squad made of Defectors, POW’s and criminals. This ragtag group are sent on the most dangerous missions possible—and are deemed expendable by their Commanding Officers. The story has no main character but instead an ensemble— following characters individually before their fates slowly intertwine.
The first volume focuses on the origins of the ‘Corrinian’ (steampunk) characters.
Victoria is drawn from her sad sleep and wakes again in the snowy trench of Corrinia’s undisturbed second line. Chatting with her fellow servicewomen, Rose and Dizzy, she is unaware that Corrinia’s first line is already Broken.
We follow the 3 as their station falls around them. In the immense battle, Victoria escapes -while Rose and Dizzy are captured by their Medieval enemy.
The continued story tells how they –and an additional cast of medieval characters eventually defect and find themselves in Quilt Section.
Steel Crusade is inspired by a number of works. 1917, Band of Brothers, 70’s war films, Castle in the sky—as well as real-world history. Its action is very ‘boots on the ground’ and is presented alongside orchestral, classical music.
