Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir (Comic Dub)
Project Overview
Hello There! My name is Jay, also known as the Azure Angel. This is a casting call for the comic dub of
STAR WARS "Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir". My crew, Echo's Praxeum, and I are huge Star Wars fans, and we have always wanted to see the "Son of Dathomir" arc fully realized with voice acting. Unfortunately, officially these episodes were never released. But never fear, The Praxcast is here, and we're opening auditions for you all to join us on this epic project brought to life.
Overview
The series is set during the Clone Wars, and is a continuation of Darth Maul's story from the show. The rogue Sith Lord, who was revealed to have survived the events of Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace in the Clone Wars episode "Witches of the Mist," has been captured by his former master, Darth Sidious, following the events of another Clone Wars episode titled "The Lawless." Sidious uses Maul in an attempt to draw Mother Talzin, Maul's mother and the leader of the Nightsisters, out of hiding so she can be destroyed, as Sidious considers her a potential threat to the eventual Sith domination of the galaxy. Maul confronts the Confederacy of Independent Systems and captures Count Dooku and General Grievous in pursuit of vengeance against his old master, while the Galactic Republic and Jedi Order become involved in the hopes that they can defeat Maul, Dooku, and Grievous—and, in doing so, end the war.
UPDATE: This has been changed to one giant casting call for all four issues/episodes of the mini series!

Roles such as Maul, Dooku, Grievous and Palpatine/Sidious have already been cast. All roles must be recorded in English.
DEADLINES AND AUDITIONS
The deadline for auditions will be on December 21st, 2023. There are currently no plans to extend this deadline, as all panels are ready to release to voice actors. We'll notify voice actors who have been cast in roles by December 21st and send scripts to voice actors by December 31st. There may be date extensions, but as of now, this is definite.(18+ actors, preferably!)
WHAT TO EXPECT
Expect to be invited to our Official Echo's Praxeum Discord! You'll be greeted with open arms and even given your own channel for comic dubs in the future, as well as other projects we will produce that requires voiceover. You'll also get to interact with the rest of our community and make connections with other creatives. If you are unfamiliar with the Discord application, you can still audition, however, we strongly, strongly recommend participation through Discord so that you can collaborate with your fellow voice actors.
WHAT WE ASK OF YOU
- First and foremost--have fun! We take pride in bringing together talents in different mediums to create something truly phenomenal, but none of it means anything if the people involved aren't passionate about their craft!
- Please submit clean recordings! Recordings with background noises such as fans, heaters, ACs or people talking in the background will not be accepted. We don't mind doing noise reduction for your audio, but too much cleaning reduces the quality of your voice. Also, since most of the Mandalorians and droids are either wearing helmet filters or robotic, we ask that you leave vocal effects to us in post-production:)
- We ask that you send your audio files in the .WAV format for quality and clear audio for both the production team to use, and the audience to hear.
- We do occasionally ask for line retakes/re-dos, but only after great consideration.
- Lastly, we do plan on doing more comic dubs as well as original skits and fan projects relating to Star Wars and other media going forward! We really would love to cast actors/actresses who will be able to work closely with us for years to come!

Make sure you bring the bass for this role, fellas! Gar Saxon is known for being very deep and gruff with his tone of voice. Make sure you pace yourself as well and mind the pauses in between the sentences.
