Sound Decisions
Project Overview
Thomas Elliot is an emerging new musician, but work on his new album has slowed to a halt. As pressure
mounts, Tommy's life turns to chaos. Desperate, he turns to an untested new technology for inspiration,
but this new sound could be the last thing he ever hears.
This is an indie horror short film, we will be submitting this film in film-fest around the nation for the year 2024.

(sternly, imparting the importance of Tom's actions to his future as a musician. Imparting seriousness and expressing what Tom needs to do as a professional) Listen Tom, you’ve got a hit, and we need to capitalize on that while you’re still in the limelight. If we don’t get an album on the store shelves in six weeks the public will forget you faster than your ex-girlfriend did!
(somberly at first, expressing slight disappointment) I’m not lying. I don’t hear a hit. Not even a minor hit. (Comes back strongly in that he is again imparting the seriousness of what Tom needs to do to succeed, albeit with flourish and hyperbole... a sense for the dramatic, if you will) What I do hear is the dying ashes of your dreams settling around your feet. Is that clear enough for you?
Mom (V.0): Tommy’s mother, who seems concerned about his well being and is wondering if his talent manager may be pushing him too far.
- female adult
(genuine concern and worry. Trying to offer helpful advice. Imploring) You look like you haven’t been sleeping. Why don’t you take the night off for a change?
(More genuine concern and worry. Verging on nagging) Honey, you look so skinny. Have you been eating? That manager isn’t working you too hard is he?
Kaylee (V.O): Tommy’s girlfriend, who is concerned about his well-being and becomes resentful with his obsession in music.
- female young adult
(worried and concerned. scared) I love you. But--this thing--with the wires. It scares me.
(exasperated and fed up. angry.) You haven’t called me in weeks. And when I do hear from you, all you talk about is your music. ( Fades into solemn resignation and finality) You’re not the person I fell in love with anymore. Goodbye.
