Shadows Have Legs - Lines for pitch trailer (PAID)
Project Overview
Shadows Have Legs is a House MD meets Monty Python comedy drama set in a nonsense-magic world.
After a magical catastrophe raises the bar for magic advisors everywhere, court wizard Krum is booted from his comfortable position. His spiteful journey back to the top will inadvertently open more opportunity than Krum bargained for.
Right now we're looking for three voices to use in a concept trailer animatic we'll be pitching around. It'll be about a minute long, very few lines with very deliberate purpose.
What we're looking for:
- all accents welcome
- those willing to do live direction preferred, $10 per character
- quality audio, no equipment preference as long as you know how to make it sound crisp!

Krum is a cynical, determined man who's been kicked by the world so many times, his butt is numb. No one can tell him he isn't good enough, and nothing will convince him to quit regardless of how capable he actually is. This assurance is as useful as it is dangerous, and causes a lot of irritation and impatience in his day to day life that often haunts the undertones of his voice.
(stubborn insistence whilst stuck in a coffin) I refuse to fail! Do you hear me? I refuse!
(bored nostalgia) Magic used to serve curiosity and amusement.
(hushed, annoyed) Shush, what are you doing? Wizards don't beg!
Tibbled is a reclusive prodigy who can't be bothered with the conventions of society's rules for magic. Instead, he hides in his tower while proving he's better than everyone else. Carving an ominous name for himself, he might be famous if he weren't so irritating. He suffers no fools, meaning Krum causes him to suffer an awful lot. Passive arrogance and a droll lack of surprise comes through whenever he's faced with Krum's amateur antics.
(casually firm) I fail to see how your lack of foresight could possibly concern me.
(biting but restrained) I don't care.
(Scoff)
The antithesis and foil to our other characters, Troll is the humble and easily amused emotional anchor. His undying support and loyalty come across in a caring, lilting tone that's always available for questioning the hard truths of an allegedly hopeless situation. Well traveled and thoughtful, he's apologetic to a fault and endlessly optimistic.
(Wholesome, inquisitive) If you look close enough, you can see 'em crawling.
(Nervously polite) Hi, sorry.
