Please note that this is only our first (of several) casting call rounds, and that in order to apply for a major role (protagonist/antagonist/deuteragonist) you must be willing to adapt your schedule to work with us long-term. This casting is for the first five characters that will appear in RED.exe's first episode as well as its trailer.
"RED.exe: The Series" is an animated series based on its written Wattpad counterparts. It follows Duh and Doc through the mysteries of the ghost-realm and demonic entities, as the two hunt for safety. A story of unrequited love, paranoia, and tragedy, the series is an entire rewrite of the original books to expand runtime and give viewers the opportunity to know more about our protagonists, the antagonists, and their close counterparts. The series is an unpaid project however we will certainly do our best to make sure you get some sort of helpful factor for your cooperation and assistance.
EXPECTATIONS
We expect clear microphone quality for voice actors, and for those applying as storyboard artists, music producers, and background artists, to be able to provide clear examples of your work. Storyboard artists are required to send examples including human or anthropomorphic characters and must be able to adapt to RED.exe's style somewhat. Background artists should be able to produce backgrounds of city landscapes as well as natural, however we will primarily be searching for the former.
Note to voice actors: just because some characters have preferred accents does not mean they have to follow that standard.
We are not necessarily looking for professionals and our team will consist of volunteers such as yourself. Deadlines will be determined depending on your schedule and we will most certainly do our best to adapt to it.
The crew will work through Discord communications. As a result, you must be at least thirteen years of age in order to apply, no matter what role, and you must have a Discord account. If you'd like, you can include your Discord tag (ex. axowotlz#3839) in your application.

Duh is a moderately introverted man who had been held in a place of 'security' since freshman year, hidden away from society due to the likes of his girlfriend, Scope. Although tremendously talented and funny beneath his worrisome shell, he appears rather child-like and paranoid, and isn't the greatest at standing up for himself but most certainly has the capabilities to. He often speaks with a stutter, however when he's confident his voice hardly does anything more than even quiver.
In order to apply for this role, you must have experience with:
- Singing (you should be able to vary your tone of voice to an extensive amount within this).We highly recommend you add an example of your vocal range in your audition. (With any song is fine really, but we prefer a short cover 'Piano Man' by Billy Joel as that's what you'd be covering later on!)
- Ability to make your voice sound younger and older. There are several flashbacks to Duh as a teenager and even as a kid, and later on throughout the series he grows older as well.

(Furious yet panicked, heavily trembly voice, loads of stuttering) "I'm the one making a mistake? You just tried to kill me! You're a monster!"
(Frustrated, saddened tone) "I just feel like it's my fault. For everything that happened, I... feel like I should've been able to stop it. Somehow."
Doc is a rather overly confident man with a snarky attitude. It's very easy to get him agitated and as a result not many people mess with him too often, however when they do, they are often strangers to Doc's disliking. He is a pediatrician at his hospital, OneLife. Secretly, he has a small unrequited crush on Duh that was never fulfilled after the latter had disappeared during freshman year... but he doesn't really like to talk about it.

Scope is a harsh and cruel woman who often tries to consider no one else but herself. Quite the narcissist, Scope had been enemies with several people she had known since high school and remains to be to this day, however that is especially targeted towards Doc, due to rivalry circling her jealousy around his former popularity. She is disrespectful even towards Duh and thinks of herself before anybody else... even if it puts someone's life in danger.

(Manic, laughing) "I invented this... 'Spreading' you call it? Soon it'll consume all of you... as much as it's already purged me."
Thomas was the twin brother of Scope, part-time a sandwich maker at the local Subway and the other part, a magician. Either way, he didn't make much of a budget. When it mysteriously dies to an infection known as 'the Spreading,' he becomes a digital virus known as RED.exe, shortened by OneLife staff members as 'RED.' He manipulates his surroundings and becomes vengeful and cruel, wanting to get revenge for having his youth taken away from him.
Note: As RED, his voice will be slightly edited so that it has a glitchy, static-like effect. It would be helpful if you are able to produce this effect yourself through an audio editor, however it is not a necessity. Your first line is an example as his mortal form; however, the next two lines are examples of his post-mortal form.

Ed is the social coworker and friend of Doc, serving as a deuteragonist of the series. He's friendly, cooperative, and trustworthy, yet can also sometimes appear a bit awkward. He often teases Doc for his crush but despite this the two are always on good terms.
