Hello everyone! It’s Mad-D here! I’m a big fan of Princess Tutu and the show’s anniversary is coming up this August 16! I
I’ve wanted to start this project at the beginning of the summer but I got caught up with life, haha! I didn’t want to give up just yet so here we are at the beginning of the fall for a FANDUB of Princess Tutu: Zwei!
Princess Tutu: Zwei is a project created by Nocturnal-Impala that is a continuation of the story and characters from Princess Tutu, which was created by Ikuko Itoh (Remember her from Sailor Moon!?! :D). Oh and it's a love story between Fakir and Ahiru
In Nocturnal-Impala’s words, this is what PT: Zwei is about...
“After the events of the Final, Ahiru has returned to being a duck and Mytho returned to the Story together with Rue.
Suddenly Ahiru’s wish to be human comes true and she can start off a completely new life as a human girl. After returning to her old Academy Ahiru meets a new student, Claudia, and the girls become friends.
Fakir also notices that one of his classmates called Ivan is acting strange and looking up things from the dark past of the Golden Crown Town.
And then all of a sudden magic seems to have returned in the form of small fairies and the mysterious, blazing Firebrid from ancient legends.
The power of Princess Tutu is once again needed but this time Fakir moves the pen, not Drosselmeyer.”
Each episode is around 20 minutes. There are sections that include ballet dancing so that takes up screen time. I would suggest you check out the first part of the first episode on Youtube before you decide whether or not you want to be a part of the project.
I hope to keep the leads like Ahiru, Fakir and Claudia to voice for the rest of the project. I’m NOT SURE but I THINK there are going to be 12 episodes total. So far it has taken around 6 months for episodes 1 and 2 to be fully finished and sent out on Youtube so please keep that in mind when you audition. This is a long term project and I’ll be coming back to you as soon as new parts of new episodes come out!
I'd like to ask that those who audition have mics that don't pop or aren't fuzzy with lots of background noise.
And please record your auditions in ABC, ABC format!
There are more key characters in Episode 2 of the series that aren’t listed here, so please keep this project in mind if you aren’t casted for characters in Episode 1. I just want to split up auditions for characters by episodes because it will be easier for me, haha!

The female lead! She is a friendly, kind-hearted duck who was given a magic pendant that turns her into a human girl by Drosselmeyer in the original series. The magic pendant also allows her to turn into Princess Tutu, her alter-ego whose job is to return heart shards to Mytho, a prince that escaped Drosselemyer’s last and unfinished story.
Her voice is not necessarily high pitched but she sounds cute and childish. She’s naturally kind-hearted and wants to help those around her. While Ahiru is bubbly, she is also very clumsy.
I’m looking for someone who can emulate Luci Christian, the English VA for Ahiru.

Ahiru is picked to be a ballet partner out of the blue with a very good ballerina
"wh- huh- huh? me?! wwwhhhHHAAA?!"
Ahiru, in a dream and as a duck, longs to dance with the prince.
"I want... I want to dance with him too, with the prince... But I'm a duck, in voice and looks, just a duck!"
Ahiru apologizes to a student who hurt her leg because of her.
"uh well.. you see. I'M SO SORRY! Your leg, is your leg still hurting you?"
Everyone who auditions for Ahiru must audition for Princess Tutu.
The alter-ego of Ahiru! She is basically the more elegant, more beautiful, and more graceful version of Ahiru. Princess Tutu is an excellent ballet dancer with a kind heart.

Everyone who auditions for Ahiru must audition for the Duck.
The original form of Ahiru! Ahiru is originally a duck, turned into a girl through the pendant Drosselmeyer gave her. In PT:Zwei, the pendant Fakir gives her will let her turn into a girl.

The male lead! He is a talented ballet dancer who had been taking care of Mytho before Mytho returns back to Drosselmeyer’s novel. He can seem like he hates others and he likes keeping to himself. Fakir also enjoys writing and spending time with Ahiru, as seen at the end of the original series. Fakir is the direct descendent of Drosselmeyer and can therefore alter reality through story writing.
His voice is slightly on the lower side, but he’s also a teenager/young adult so keep that in mind. I imagine him as a character who thinks before he speaks (while Ahiru is completely opposite) and so his words hold weight and are planned. He says "shut up" and "idiot" a lot. He struggles with being kind so he's kind of a tsundere.

Cold and harsh.

He starts out curious and caring until after the "what is it?" line when he becomes harsh again.
"So, you're awake.... What is it?... Stop brooding on nonsense. You listen to me you useless, good for noth- what's this? You're trembling."
kind and caring, kind of wistful and sad at the same too. Melancholic but also endearing?
"Afterall that's who you really are. And even after that time comes, I will stay by your side forever."
Another female lead! Claudia is an excellent ballerina from Paris with long silky hair, has a shy kindness to her, and is beautiful. Ahiru compares her to a swan.
Claudia doesn’t have many lines at the moment, but I know she becomes a key character as Princess Tutu:Zwei moves forward.
I imagine Claudia with a slight French accent, but please feel free to put off the accent if you need to so you can deliver lines comfortably.

Aotoa is a peer obsessed with Drosslemeyer and the history of Gold Crown town, the town in which the characters live. Fakir and Ahiru will come to him for advice in the Princess Tutu: Zwei series.
He is standoffish, sassy, and witty. A know-it-all kind of boy. I think he has some resentment towards Fakir, since Fakir is a direct descendent of Drosselmeyer. He can have any accent but sometimes I imagine him with a slight German accent but please, the character's voice is up to interpretation :)

An extra. She looks as if she is in her 30s. A very chipper and happy principal, who seems as if most female students love her. She has two cats in her decorated office.
"I'm happy to see you're back, Ahiru-san."
"Every student is valuable to us."
"I hope you enjoyed your vacation and are ready to work hard."
Lillie is one of Ahiru’s best friends from ballet class. While she wants to support Ahiru, she seems happy whether or not Ahiru fails or wins at anything. She even squeals out of joy when she thinks about Ahiru failing and how cute it’d look to see her so sad.

Pique is another one of Ahiru’s best friends from ballet class. She’s more on the tomboyish side, and more level-headed than Lillie.
Pike has a voice that reminds of a firecracker about to explore. She can be loud and likes it when drama happens :)

The shopkeeper who gossips with the customer lady about Claudia coming back to town after 6 years.

This is an extra who appears for a few seconds and has a few lines! She's the mother of a girl in town.
The lady is talking gossip with the shopkeeper.
"All the way from France? Is she a foreigner?"
"Claudia?"
"Well I dont remember her either even though I have really good memory!"
