POLARIS: The Strangerville Mystery (Sims 4 Machinima VO Movie)
Project Overview
"POLARIS: The Strangerville Mystery" is a Sims 4 machinima movie adaptation of the first storyline of Whimsyalien's (@whimsyalien on Twitter) Polaris legacy. It follows the adventures of Cassiopeia Polaris, the alien legacy founder, as she attempts to uncover the mystery buried deep in Strangerville's secret laboratory.
· The movie will be about 1h in length.
· The rating is PG - only light violence and swearing, no NSFW.
· The genre is sci-fi with a dash of romance and comedy.
REQUIREMENTSJust a few things to keep in mind before auditioning.
· The script is already written and edited. Upon being cast, you will receive the full script and be given a (reasonable) deadline to record your lines. During this process, it's important for me (the director) to be easily able to reach out to you and viceversa. I personally prefer working on Discord, so if you do have an account that you use regularly, please include your Discord name in your audition.
· I know this is an unpaid project so I don't expect much when it comes to quality of recording, but I will still evaluate the quality of your microphone when I listen to your auditions: make sure to audition using the microphone and set up you will be using when recording for the actual movie.
· The world Whimsyalien has created is incredible and I'm a huge fan of her work. My intention is to keep adapting her stories to screen in the future, which means some of the characters in this movie might appear in sequels as well. Of course things change and we can't know where we'll all be in a few years, but please be mindful that this might be a long term commitment when you audition (especially if you're auditioning for a lead role).

The Watcher is a disembodied voice that serves as the ironic albeit extremely invested narrator of the story. They are regarded as a divinity and in a meta way symbolize the omniscient (sims) player who oversees everything the characters do.

(mysterious) It was just another regular day in Sixam for Collection Technician 1999. Or so she thought...
(heartwarming, wholesome) Some things, you just have to discover for yourself. And Cassiopeia was indeed learning a lot from her time spent on Earth. Like the fact that sometimes humans would spend time together not because of a higher purpose, but just for the sake of… “hanging out”, as they called it.
(grave, sad) Yes, Cassiopeia was fond of humans. She truly was. But she couldn’t excuse the atrocities they committed. Deep down, she already knew what she would find behind that one final door. She had known for a long time. It was a truth she had struggled to accept, but there was no hiding from it anymore.
An alien from planet Sixam, her birth name is Collection Technician 1999 and she had zero plans of finding herself on Earth… and yet she’s here now. She’s stubborn, brave, and energetic, but her lack of knowledge about human culture and traditions make her seem a bit naive at times.

(scared, guilty, but firm) There is something down there… something that is desperate for help, something that wants to go home no matter what… and I think I let part of it out.
(hurt, disappointed) You humans are all the same. All cowards. And I don’t need help from cowards.
A paranoid, nerdy, conspiracy theory fanatic curio shop owner, Erwin is a whiz kid who is convinced that the entire world is out to get him… and just this once, he might be right. He's not a lionheart exactly - in fact, he often prefers intricate plans to action - but he's an incredibly talented programmer and is driven by a very strong sense of justice. He is based on the eponymous Erwin Pries, a character from The Sims 4 franchise.

Are you one of those hipster girls that don’t use technology? You know what– okay, I’ll help you. (under his breath) Because you are really pretty and it’s not often that girls talk to me. (normal voice again) My name’s Erwin, by the way.
(defensive) Now, I absolutely did not steal this from Jess’s house, and if she ever asks about it… you didn’t get it from me.
(scared, worried) You can’t go down there alone! It’s dangerous! I mean what if something happens to you!? J-Just wait, I-I’ll call Jess! She’ll go with you!
Jess has it all. A perfect family, a perfect job in the Strangerville military, and a tolerable best friend, Erwin… but something is wrong in her hometown, and she finds herself stuck between a rock and a hard place: will she stick to the status quo, or will she do anything in her power to fix the issue - even if she has to break a rule or two? She is based on the eponymous Jess Sigworth, a character from The Sims 4 franchise.

(annoyed, sarcastic) Really? I’m sorry, Cass, I should’ve warned you. Erwin and his conspiracy theories… I try not to enable him too much, or he gets a little paranoid.
(angry in a motherly way) No. Absolutely not! Not only what you’re asking is illegal: it’s madness! There’s a reason why that lab was closed. Do you think they won’t notice you two snooping around? You’d have the military hot on your heels. And then they’d come after me!
The strict and hard-working lab supervisor at the Strangerville science laboratory, Circe will stop at nothing to accomplish her goals. She is a strong, albeit selfish and mean-spirited (some would say evil) woman, who does not care about the wellbeing of anyone except her own. She is based on the eponymous Circe Beaker, a character from The Sims 2 and The Sims 4 franchise.

(excited, weirdly fascinated) It wasn’t easy, but my time working there allowed me to get my hands on some of those spores. They come in clusters, you see? I’ve managed to isolate and study them at home. They’re unlike anything I’ve seen before.
A scientist at the Strangerville science laboratory. He does not care about anything that doesn’t directly involve him - he’s just here to do his regular 9 to 5, and would like not to be disturbed during work hours more than anything.
