Pokemon: Jay and Porygon - Artificial Bonds
Project Overview
The main focus of my Pokemon animatics follows the adventures of a character named Jay, and his partner Pokemon, Porygon. Featuring 'what if' scenarios where Porygon has exclusive versions of the big 'gimmick' mechanics.(i.e. Z-moves, Gigantamax, etc.)
Why Porygon? Because Porygon is a Pokemon who has been neglected for a long time. Especially in the Pokemon anime series. I want to give this little guy some deserved exposure in my stuff. If not spoil it a bit.
The story for this video takes inspiration from the old and obscure Pokemon Live musical back in 2000. Team Rocket creates a giant robotic Pokemon, MechaMew2 that can copy and amplify all Pokemon attacks! By luring trainers to their Gym in Viridian City with the one of a kind Diamond Badge, they plan to use MechaMew2 to conquer the world!
Jay and his partner Pokemon, Porygon take interest in this challenge and are determined to win and prove they are not weak.
In terms of progress on the project as a whole, everything is already finished! The script and all the pictures are all done. The only thing I need before I can put the whole thing together are voice actors. I'd like to have all the characters cast before recording.
A couple of roles have already been cast. What you see here are the rest of the open roles.

Jay is an original character based off a piece of myself. He is sort of an odd trainer with a 'give 'em hell' attitude who never takes no for an answer. He is obsessed with battling and winning. His dream is to make his prized Porygon the strongest Pokemon in ALL EXISTENCE. All to prove that he and his Pokemon are not weak.
For Jay's voice, I image him having sorta an older teen voice. A little angsty, a little witty with a strong sense of determination. Often tells it how it is. When battling, he tends to get pretty 'into it'. Never stops until he gets what he wants.
Something like Kaminari in MHA. Only more confident, feisty and not a complete dunce.

(Learns of a new, special Pokemon Gym Badge)--- (intrigued) So, only one badge for the strongest trainer? This is an excellent opportunity to see how strong we are! See that, Porygon?
(Explaining the importance of Gym Badges)--- (irritated) Yes it does! Badges are important! They're proof of how strong you've become! (awkwardly stressing) It's just like when a teacher gives you a passing grade!....Though, I never did that well in school.
(Sad due to his Porygon losing a battle)--- (melancholy) I know you always do your best. But nobody else seems to think it's enough. We need to exceed our best and show them we're not weak! I guarantee, I will make you strong. Without evolving, just the way you are..
A hiker class Pokemon trainer up in the mountains. He challenges Jay to a Pokemon battle.
A very pushy, almost bully-like character. A very loud and 'gravely' type of voice.

(Talks about how Gym Badges don't matter)--- (cocky/teasing) Psshh, I don't need a badge to prove my worth. Stuff like that doesn't matter.
(Acting self-rightious after defeating Jay in battle)--- (self-righteous) HA! What did I tell ya? You'll never win anything if you use weak Pokemon like that! *laughs*
Team Rocket's snobby secretary and 2nd in command. She has concocted a plan to use a giant robot Pokemon to learn and amplify all Pokemon attacks to help Team Rocket rule the world. Baiting each trainer with the elusive Diamond Badge.
Matori is very stuck up and stern. Taking things very seriously. She has sort of a snobby tone to her voice. Pretty much how she is in the Pokemon Anime series.

(Matori sees the successful results of her plan)--- (pleased) Hm, at this rate it will go on to learn every Pokemon move. After that, the boss can use it to dominate society and then Team Rocket shall conquer the world.
(Matori is challenged by Jay with his Porygon)--- (in thought) Hmm, we haven't obtained any moves from a Porygon yet.(demanding) Have at you, challenger!
A minor role. A Red shirt trainer who is confident and eager to battle.

(Discovers a peculiar, robotic-looking Pokemon)--- (confused) What kind of Pokemon is that? I've never heard of it. Is it a Steel type?
(Uses his Alakazam to attack)--- (overconfident) Ha! No problem! Alakazam, use Shadow Ball now!
(Devistated after a crushing loss)--- (shocked) WHAT? (Defeated) N-no… It sent the move right back at us without using Mirror Coat? What even is this Pokemon?
A minor role. A blue shirt trainer who is less confident and more analytic.
Voice is more calm and patient with a little bit of worry.

(Pondering about the mysterious robot Pokemon)--- (astounded) Yeah, my Pokedex couldn't bring up any data.

Voice sounds deep, groggy and pretty shady. Is more upfront and in charge.

(Still advertising)--- (stern) Unlike other Gym badges however, only one can win the Diamond badge. Only the single most powerful trainer will be able to claim this badge as proof of their sheer strength and will!
