“Pizza Dude” Animated Short Film
Project Overview
Short film summary: Pizza Dude, a pizza delivery guy with forgotten culinary dreams, faces an unholy encounter when the Devil steals his pizza and retreats in the sewer. A powerful alien named Noname joins the chaos, leading to a tumultuous battle. Pizza Dude eventually emerges victorious, finding purpose amidst supernatural chaos.
This project has been a long-standing desire of mine, ive been doodling sketchy comics about these characters for years for fun in my spare time! Yet I find myself lacking some necessary skills, time, and resources to undertake this animated project on my own. Given my colorblindness and the challenges it presents, having assistance from a small team to bring my significant dream to fruition would be truly wonderful. The short film will embrace a deliberate roughness and a slightly sketchy, "unfinished" cartoony aesthetic to inspire those who may lack confidence in pursuing a project, plus it may look more visually pleasing than it would have otherwise. It serves as a reminder that perfection isn't essential; rather this project is a stepping stone towards taking that first step forward!

It will be the animator's jobs to take designated scenes from the storyboard and make fully animated shots for the short film. (Professional software is preferred, but considering this is an unpaid project, whatever you have available is fine, and the finished project is going to be rough since this story I’ve been making has always relied on imperfection and sketchiness, also this is my first big animated project I'm attempting to pull together)

The Background artist’s job is to create backgrounds for animation based on locations described by the creator and shown in the script

The Composer will be the musician in charge of creating the melody and sound for background noise in order to amplify the emotion of a given scene

The writer will help the creator develop the script and come up with jokes, better ways to make a scene flow smoothly, and potentially write entire scenes themselves (depending on if the script is finished since it's still being developed at the time of posting this project to the public)

The story artist will be tasked with helping create or finish the storyvoard depending on how far along it is

The character designer’s job will be taking rough sketches and artwork and refining the designs to make them better for animation and otherwise stand out more. They may be tasked with creating character sheets so animators can gauge what characters will look like at different angles of perspective

He may seem like an average pizza delivery guy, but he’s got big dreams! Or at least he did before his hopes of being a gourmet chef were stomped out years ago… Now he works at a low quality restaurant who’s main patronage consists of stoners and “full moon” weirdos. His voice needs to be soft and timid, but still able to show a range of emotions and dynamic expression. Please remember to link your Discord so you can be more easily contacted.

“You think you know it all, you think it’s easy following the life you always wanted?! It’s not… everyone’s always telling you that your dreams are unattainable! Settle for less, they say! They being people like you!!!!!…. But, it’s my fault too.. I gave up too easily.. and as I wander these empty streets, each delivery feels like a reminder of the dreams I've lost along the way."
What was that thing?… Oh god.. it’s coming closer…
An evil Eldritch alien being, he hides his shaken body in an old metal can. He’s a little ball off anger with a unique Lust for power, which is in fact why he came to earth in the first place. In my mind he’s very distinct so I have a hard time describing his voice, the closest I can get to describing it would be a less posh sophisticated Scar from Lion king with tendencies of pure rage. Don’t be thrown by all the anger, he can be vulnerable and show sadness or genuine joy when he forgets to keep his emotional walls up

“I left the small group of my ilk I stayed with long ago.. I still think about them sometimes.. Late at night, when there’s little else to think of.”
Every character in this story has one thing in common. Their passion! Except for the literal Devil. An unassuming but powerful little Demon who lost his spark of intensity and light after falling from grace… and landing himself right on earth, rather than the kingdom of fire he longed for.. So he moped around the sewers, wishing for the day he can descend down below as a great king. After meeting the Noname he mainly serves as an unwilling underling to the alien malefactor.. Little does he know he’ll go on to do big things. I imagine his voice would sound similar to Jay Baruchel’s Hiccup from How to train your dragon, but if someone goes a different direction with it and I happen to like it better they may end up being cast instead

The grumpy old done with life boss of the pizza shop that our titular character works at. He mostly stays in his office waiting for death or Retirement.. whichever comes first. I imagine he has your standard cranky boss voice, somewhat deep, extra points if you can throw in an Italian accent that sounds natural and able to encapsulate different emotions
