Persona 5 the Musical! (Looking for VAs, Artists, and Writers)

Project Overview

You may or may not have heard of the beautiful, beautiful youtube musical by Man on the Internet based on Undertale. 


That wonderful project and it's wonderful crew inspired me to make this project. Persona 5 is one of my favorite games of all time. I've been a persona fan since Persona 4 first came out. So I decided, "WHAT IF PERSONA 5'S BEAUTIFUL SOUNDTRACK WAS A MUSICAL?!" and that's how this thing happened.

The project will be uploaded as a series of videos on Youtube and then one giant video piecing everything together. 

Audition Rules:
No pitch correction, autotune, or effects of any kind.
Song minimum - 20 seconds. Song maximum - 4 minutes.
Reaudition as many times as you like.
Audition for as many characters as you like.
Sing acapella or add a backing track. Up to you.
Feel free to sing a song from the Persona 5 OST. 

Casting Info:
The deadline will be extended until I believe I have found a good fit for every voice.
All characters will be casted at around the same time so as many auditions can be taken in as possible.
Sorry, but no bonus points for being a friend of mine. That'd be unfair.
I welcome people of all ages, but if you're like, 8 and your mom doesn't let you on the computer for more than an hour, just... don't.
I'm pretty lenient with times for recording, so don't be scared off by that.
I would like to keep in touch with all my Voice Actors through Discord. Therefore, if you do audition, I would prefer you have a discord account.

  • Current Progress

    Hey everyone! Miguel here, it's been a while since I've posted an update but we're moving along! We now have casted every main character. All we have left to cast are some of the confidants, Captain Kidd, and Chorus Members! All of you who auditioned have wonderful voices and I'd like to thank you all for auditioning, by asking all of you to audition for our chorus! As a side note, we also need a few more artists and writers. Once we have all that, our crew will be finished and all we'll need are the last few characters!

  • CASTING!

    So, thanks to all the great auditions that have come in, I have found who I believe are the best candidates for most of the cast. On Saturday, April 14th. Here are the characters I have found candidates for: Akira, Ann, Yusuke, Makoto, Futaba, Haru, Akechi, Arsene, Zorro, Carmen, Kaneshiro, Sae, Mishima, and Takemi. If you plan to audition for these characters, you have until April 14th. As for the rest of the characters, this casting call will stay open as I look for them. If you are not casted for a character, but I like your singing voice, there is an EXTREMELY high possibility I will message you to ask if you'd like to join the chorus.     So, casting time is nowhere in the near future, but I would like to point out that when I do cast, I only plan to cast people with a maximum of 2 roles per person (though I will try to keep it to one role). I will not count any of the voice acting only roles or the Chorus, so it's possible you may be casted for 2 roles and one of those. Once again, I'd like to thank ALL of you for the wonderful auditions I keep receiving!

  • Update on feedback

    Thanks to how many of you wonderful people have been sending me BEAUTIFUL auditions for each character, I've been slightly overwhelmed with having to give feedback on each one, so from now on, I will not be giving feedback for every audition. Despite this, even if you don't get feedback, you still have a chance of getting casted as I may just not have time to respond to your audition at the moment.

    So, thanks to this great new Casting Call Club update, the design is more clean, and several things have changed for the better. Except one thing: THEY DON'T GIVE THE OPTION TO CHANGE A ROLE'S TYPE. So every single one of the roles says Voice Actor, and the only way for me to change it would be to delete them all and remake them as Singer roles. I'm too lazy to do that, so please ignore the role types until CCC fixes this, thanks.

Makoto is first seen as an uptight, kiss-ass class president, and causes nothing but problems for the team. It's later revealed she is quite apologetic, and only acts this way to maintain a good reputation to impress her sister, Sae. After joining the Phantom Thieves, she remains apologetic and intelligent, but now makes several efforts to be more understanding and frequently attempts to connect with her fellow students. Her voice should be calm and collected, but if she needs to, she'll scream angrily. Her range is mezzo-soprano.

Futaba is best girl. Futaba also is a cute, shy, shut-in, who's skilled in hacking and all things technology. She starts out having delusions and hallucinations, which caused her to ask the Phantom Thieves to change her heart.  She then joins the Phantom Thieves as a navigator. Her voice is high-pitched, but sharp.  She lands in the soprano singing range.


  • (Start off sad and then turn that into anger) When I watched my mother die, it happened so quickly. So unexpectedly, it caught me off-guard and caused me to panic. I know now, that those feelings, those were all the fault of those rotten adults. I'll never forgive them!

It is later revealed he is actually a psychopath who not only betrayed the Phantom Thieves and attempted to kill Joker, but also has been working for a corrupt politician named Masayoshi Shido, and is responsible for a long series of deaths due to mental shutdowns and psychotic breakdowns. His range is tenor.

He stops at nothing to reach his goals, he shows no regard for the safety of his workers, and neglects his daughter, Haru. He sees his workers as robots. His range is Bass.

The seventh villain and ruler of the Cruiser of Pride. Shido is a corrupt politician using the Metaverse to kill those who oppose or anger him. He is first introduced as the man who falsely accused Joker of assault and caused his probation, but soon is revealed to also be the man behind a series of deaths due to psychotic breakdowns and mental shutdowns. His range is Baritone.

The owner of the Velvet Room, a space that exists between dream and reality, Igor has been a guide to all Persona protagonists ever since the first game. However, throughout Persona 5, he is taken over by a being named Yaldabaoth, and is only given his body back towards the end. His range is tenor. (Yaldabaoth auditions are held further down.)

Yaldabaoth is the god of control, born from the humans' distorted desires and sloth, due to this he acts as the ruler of the World of Sloth (Mementos) and the Prison of Regression. (Mementos Depths) He takes over Igor throughout most of the game, and acts as the final boss of the game. Yaldabaoth has a deep voice, and due to this has a bass range.

Robin Hood and Loki are the personas of Goro Akechi. They have the same voice actor so they can sound similar, but they have to sound different. Robin Hood is bright and polite like Goro, but Loki is raspy and dark. They both have a baritone range.

Caroline and Justine are the two Prison Wardens and the assistants of Igor in the velvet room. Lavenza was the original assistant of Igor, until Yaldabaoth split them into two twins. They all have the same voice, however, Caroline has a sharp high-pitched voice while Justine and Lavenza have softer voices. They all have a soprano range.

  • Caroline (Angrily): Hmph! Try and struggle as hard as you like. Justine (Calmly): The duty of wardens is to protect inmates. We are also your collaborators.

Mishima is the first person in-game to discover your identity as a Phantom Thief. After being a victim of Kamoshida's abuse, he is saved by the Phantom Thieves and begins running the Phantom Aficionado Website, also known as the PhanSite, and becomes the biggest fan of the Phantom Thieves. His range is tenor.
