Hello!
We’re adding partial voice acting to a new expansion for our commercial visual novel “Our Life: Beginnings & Always”. It’s a slice-of-life story with comedy, romance, drama, and many wonderful memories to make. The main game has already been released (you can read more about it HERE), but we’re working on adding a new story for one of the side characters, Derek Suarez.

Line recording will start once the VA is officially on the team, which should be at the start of August 2022.
The VA doesn’t have to identify as the same gender as a character in order to audition for that character.
Our Life: Beginnings & Always is for general audiences, but we did put out a little side story on our Patreon that’s 18+ for sexual content. The extra scene includes adult-aged characters only, is unvoiced, a separate download from the real game, and won’t release outside of the Patreon. So it’s not a part of what the VAs would be contributing to, but there is suggestive content that exists in relation to the Our Life franchise.
Auditioning:
Please have clear audio with no background noise.
Please don’t edit the pitch of your voice or add other alterations. General clean-up is okay!
Two to three takes are preferred, but not required.
We don’t require a specific formatting for the file name.
Please keep all the lines in one file, rather than separating each line into its own file.
Our Life is a low-key story, the character speaking style is down to earth. We don’t require extra oomph that a more energetic/comedic project might.

Irene Suarez is a stay-at-home mom. While there’s admiration for her husband, there’s a special connection and level of comfort that her sons have with her. She’s a patient, good-humored person and nothing gets past her. Most of the time, her family will come talk to her if there’s anything on their mind, but if they attempt to avoid sharing their concerns, she’ll sniff it out regardless.
Irene is polite yet friendly sounding. A lot of her children’s speaking pattern’s/phrasing comes from her.

Jorge Suarez is the middle son of the family trio. Growing up he always stood out for his lack of presence. Independent and hard to excite, Jorge usually chose not to compete for space among his outgoing and sociable siblings. Especially because his two other brothers seemed to have a special bond that didn’t include him. Now that he’s an adult, Jorge is making more of an attempt to not count himself out by default. His family loves him and he knows there’s always a place for him there. He is currently studying physics at a college not far from his parents’ home, and is able to regularly stop by for visits.
Jorge interacts with others in a reserved way without coming across as unwelcoming. He has a gentlemanly self-restraint.

Nicolas Suarez is the baby of the family, and the only one of the three sons still young enough to be living at home with his parents. He’ll be starting his junior year in high school after summer break ends. At present, he’s going through a phase where he’s too cool to hang out with his parents. Nicolas is still entirely thrilled to spend time with his brothers, though. His attachment to Derek, the oldest son, is as strong as ever and has developed into a real friendship rather than pure idolization. Nico has also gotten closer to Jorge after realizing what he was missing by focusing so whole-heartedly on Derek. He’s not nearly as self-absorbed as he was a small child, but still has a streak of selfishness.
Nicolas speaks in a breezy and honest way, not thinking twice before freely expressing himself. He’s still a teen and uses word choices/phrases that aren’t the most mature.
