Hello!
We’re adding partial voice acting to a new expansion for our commercial visual novel “Our Life: Beginnings & Always”. It’s a slice-of-life story with comedy, romance, drama, and many wonderful memories to make. The main game has already been released (you can read more about it HERE), but we’re working on adding a new story for one of the side characters, Derek Suarez.

Line recording will start once the VA is officially on the team, which should be before the end of June 2022.
The VA doesn’t have to identify as the same gender as a character in order to audition for that character.
Our Life: Beginnings & Always is for general audiences, but we did put out a little side story on our Patreon that’s 18+ for sexual content. The extra scene includes adult-aged characters only, is unvoiced, a separate download from the real game, and won’t release outside of the Patreon. So it’s not a part of what the VAs would be contributing to, but there is suggestive content that exists in relation to the Our Life franchise.

Our Life is a low-key story, the character speaking style is down to earth. We don’t require extra oomph that a more energetic/comedic project might.

Voice: Mature, deep, warm
Mr. Gregorio Suarez speaks somewhat formally with very direct language but is a big kid at heart. He enjoys doing activities with his children and knowingly, lightheartedly causes trouble every so often to lift people’s mood.
As much as he can tease in that way, when it comes to affection and relationship, his own and those of others, Gregorio is very earnest. He’s affectionate with his wife and speaks openly about love, to the point where it can be more embarrassing for his kids than his actual jokes.
He’s reliable, hardworking, trustworthy, and two out of three of his sons want to be just like him when they grow up.
“So good to see you again.”
(Casual, friendly, lighthearted. A normal greeting for good company)
“Dinner's here! And even better, Mom's home.”
(Cheery, high-spirits, upbeat. Calling for his sons to come over)
“My hardworking son is always in demand, hm?”
(Understanding, reassuring, calming. His kid is dealing with a stressful situation)
Voice: The pitch is high, but the tone is usually not very expressive
The middle Suarez son. He’s a touch world-weary even at his young age. He’s too young to be on the same standing as Derek in terms of permissions/responsibilities but feels way too old to be on the same level as the baby in the family. Jorge pulls away from the sibling group a little because of that feeling of being out of place. But he tries not to be a bother. When his parents, or Derek when he’s in charge, tell him what to do Jorge will always listen without fuss. He truly loves his family, even if he isn’t great at expressing it.
He’s occasionally called “Junior” because of just how similar he looks to his father when he was that age. That’s fine with Jorge, he also hopes to grow up to be like his dad. He wants to be someone that other people look up to. But when he wants someone else to be there for him, he goes to his mom.
Line 1: “I'm going to play over there.”
(Mild, flat, matter of fact. He’s simply informing the others what he intends to do)
“Nicolas. You're supposed to be practicing.”
(Firm, serious, a bit scolding. His little brother isn’t behaving)
“Hey Dad, we're Team Suarez!”
(Cheery, excited, eager. He got to pair up with his dad for a game)
Voice: High pitched, youthful, expressive, rarely ever speaks in an entirely casual way
Wildly energetic, careless, causes trouble unintentionally because of those first two traits. Nicolas does not want to be like his dad- he wants to be like Derek. His biggest brother is his best friend and hero. Nicolas remains glued to Derek nearly at all times when they’re in the same place.
He’s the youngest kid around but Nicolas doesn’t like to be treated as the baby of the family; he wants to do what all the older people are doing. He attempts that by literally mimicking their words and actions. Most of the time he copies Derek, though occasionally he’ll echo other people who he likes. In Nicolas’s affection for the rest of his family, mom is second greatest, then Jorge, and his dad would be last.
“We had lots of fun!”
(Pleased, upbeat, lighthearted. Telling his parents about his day)
“DEREK'S BACK!”
(Excited, cheering, thrilled. His favorite person has returned after being gone)
“I wanna go to the pool.”
(Stubborn, grumbly, demanding. He is insisting on getting his way)
