Kanade Yumeno (夢野 奏 Yumeno Kanade) is a secondary character in the Onegai My Melody series. She is Uta and Koto's older sister, and is a first year in Yumegaoka High School. She is very sensitive about her makeup and loves necklaces. She is one of the most popular girls at her school, and hangs out with two random girls at school. She went out with Kikuchi, but by the end of the first season they broke up due to his busy schedule. In Kuru Kuru Shuffle, she decides to be her father's date until she got a new boyfriend. Like all of her family, she grieves for her mother who died when she was little.

Appearance

Kanade is tall. She has waist-length blonde hair and brown eyes. She always wears her hair down. In some occasions, she ties her hair, usually in a bun. Her outfits change in multiple episodes, but she is mostly seen wearing a highly-fashioned outfit.

Personality

Kanade has a calm, girly, and sassy personality. She is also the mother-figure of her sisters when her father is not around. She can be irrational at times, as it shows that she hates being flirted by the King of Maryland and hates rats. She is also concerned with her looks and does not like her beauty being ruined. Despite this, she deeply cares for her family and friends.

Relationships

My Melody: While Kanade and My Melody seem to seldom interact with each other even though they lived in the same house, the two seems to treat each other very well. However, if My Melody does something clumsy or poor, Kanade scolds My Melody.

Uta Yumeno: Although Uta and Kanade fight because of their differences, the two care for each other and sometimes hang out with each other for some adventures. Kanade always scolds Uta for her lazy attitude as shown in several episodes.

Keiichi Hiragii: He was revealed to be an old classmate back of hers in middle school. She also warns Uta about his attitude and the things he had done to other fangirls. It was hinted that she used to have a crush on him back in middle school.

Flat (フラット Furatto) is a Supporting Character in Onegai My Melody. He is the closest among My Melody's animal friends. Whenever there's trouble, especially a curse created by Kuromi's magic, My Melody sometimes casts a spell on Flat to deal with it. There have also been hints that Flat may have a crush on My Melody; for example, blushing when she hugs it in episode 6. He also asked her out on a date in episode 29 (which at first My Melo was surprised about but eventually agreed).

Flat also has great social skills when it comes to interacting with the opposite gender. With these, it occasionally gives pointers to Kakeru when trying to contact Uta in certain situations.

Spirit of Dark Power (a.k.a Dar-chan) is the antagonist of the series. A mysterious being that is able to possess those who tamper with the Dark Power or having powerful dreams or to use them. He has no fixed form of appearance. Because Kuromi's too lazy to say his entire name, she shortens it to "Dar-chan", much to his disgust.

Grandma is a white female rabbit character from the Japanese company Sanrio. She is My Melody's grandma and Grandpa's wife. She made My Melody's signature hood. She is very knowledgeable and knows just about everything. Grandma has white fur, long ears, a yellow oval nose. Her clothes are green or purple. She wears a long sleeve floor-length dress, a lace-trimmed bonnet, brown shoes, and gold spectacles on the bridge of her nose.

Rhythm (リズム Rizumu) is one of the residents of Mariland. He is My Melody's little brother.

Minister Dorian is The Servant of the King and Queen of Mari land

Jun Hiiragi (柊潤 Hiiragi Jun) is a character that appears at the end of Onegai My Melody and takes a protagonic role in Onegai My Melody ~Kuru Kuru Shuffle~. He is Keiichi Hiiragi's younger brother who used to live in London at a school of Japanese students but comes back a few years later, just in time for the second season.

He is a ninth grader at Yumegaoka Junior High School and is in the same grade as Uta Yumeno, Miki Sakurazuka, Mana Fujisaki, and Kakeru Kogure. He replaces his brother as Kuromi's source for the Dark Power, giving recharges with his guitar. Jun developed a crush on Uta but is rejected several times because she doesn't take him seriously, mostly because he is always making jokes and puns, and he gives up on trying to become her boyfriend because of Kakeru. He is great friends with Kakeru.

Personality

In the past, Jun is always been overshadowed by his brother, Keiichi, thus he has an intense hatred for him, which is the reason why Dar-chan took his consciousness, and Keiichi was indifferent to him. He always taunt his brother and even wanted him to say "uncle", which angers Keiichi. He has a sad past despite living in a wealthy family. Jun isn't very active or energetic; because his power of concentration runs out after five minutes, but later it is eight minutes. Other than that, he is kind-hearted, cheerful, and fun-loving. He loves making jokes, which sometimes annoys his friends. All he longs for is to be loved by his family. At the end of Kuru Kuru Shuffle, he and Keiichi apologize to each other and rekindle their relationship.

Jun has messy chin-length dark magenta hair with gray streak on the right and gray eyes. In later episodes, it was revealed that his hair used to be gray, like his brother. He usually wears wild, punk outfits.

Bako is Baku's youngest sibling. Baku and Kuromi watch over her during ~Kurukuru Shuffle!~ and makes a minor appearance in Sukkiri.

Bako is an adorable small pink (lavender in Onegai My Melody) baby tapir similar to Baku, however she has two black dots with two eyelashes for eyes, rosy cheeks, a pink bow on the left side of her head, and a pale yellow diaper. Originally, she only said "Da" as words, but when she was able to talk, she ended her sentences with "da~" When Dar-chan was banished for the second time, she only ended it with "dechu~" in the Japanese dub.

Personality

Bako is seen to be a cheerful and innocent tapir. Despite being a baby, she's very smart for her age. For example, she would often sense black notes for Kuromi. Bako often cries a lot and Baku's aware of what's making Bako upset as he tries to calm her down and cheer her up.

Apperances

She first appeared in episode 48, when she was a newborn. She cried when Baku's father mentioned that Dar-chan would not effect her, then his mother takes her and tells him that he haven't given her milk and punches him in the face, making a hole into the house, which is now currently destroyed.

Kuromi

Bako loves Kuromi. She usually calls her "Kur-tan" and has the power to sniff out black notes for her. Kuromi also loves her and thinks she's cute as she would often hold her, hug her, pet her and even kiss her. Kuromi was also amazed at Bako's power to sense black notes for her, which made her and Bako closer to each other. In some episodes, Kuromi is usually seen to be favoring Bako over Baku to the point where she spoils her.

Baku is Bako's eldest brother. He's protective of his sister since he loves her so much and Bako would sometimes comfort her brother whenever he gets mistreated. However, he gets jealous when Kuromi favors his sister over him.
