What happens when you can’t afford to be a Hero?
Putting a spin on the classic RPG Hero and Merchant, On the Tab explores the unconventional within the conventional.
In a town tormented by a dragon, it’s said the legendary sword is the key to ending their wrath. When a money-hungry merchant refuses to sell the sword to the hero, he's left with no choice but to face the consequences and pay the price himself.
Hi I'm Elizabeth, and I'm a final year student at RMIT University based in Australia working on my final film "On the Tab", a 3-4 minute short animated film. The animation is an entertainment piece with themes of friendship, comedy, adventure and drama.
🤩 What I'm looking for
I am looking for 2 voice actors for my main protagonists Sylver and Avery. All voice actors will be credited at the end of my film (Unless otherwise requested).
🎙️ What I ask of you
- Please submit clean recordings on preferably prosumer mics (no air conditioners in the background, no fans -- I don't mind performing noise reduction on your files, however too much clean-up reduces the quality of your voice).
- I may ask for line re-dos, this workshopping is only to ensure the voice acting fits the envisioned character and mood of the film.
- Final deliverables are preferred in .wav
- Communication will be through Discord.
⏰ Timeline
The deadline for the audition is March 26th, with final voice acting finalised mid-April.
The deadline for my short film is late June 2023.

Sylver is the lead actor and protagonist of "On the Tab" 💰
Sylver is a merchant whose one love is money. If you owe him a single cent, he's the type of person who would not hestitate to remind you of it (endlessly). He's a slick character who does not care much for status nor "prophecies". Whether you're the Hero to break the 100 year curse or the town's donkey, it doesn't matter. In his eyes money is all the same and he will stick true to this value whether for good, or for bad.
He can be described as:

- Witty
- Charismatic
- Stingy
Throughout the narrative he begins to reflect on his values, learning the importance of others whilst still staying true to who he is as a person.

Avery is the second lead actor and protagonist of "On the Tab" 💰
Avery is a Hero whose the goal is to save the day and break the town's curse. She is righteous and may come across as arrogant, making judgements based on a person's class. She believes one's duties come before all else and lives true to her ideals.
She can be described as:

- Righteous
- Snobbish
- Strong
