Objectified Comic Dub
Project Overview
Hello and welcome. We're looking for voice actors for a dub of the webcomic Objectified (https://www.objectifiedcomic.com/). It's recommend that you are familiar with the content of the comic before auditioning, but not required. For those unaware Objectified contains foul language, graphic violence, body horror, and insects/parasites. Due to the content of this comic the minimum age for auditioning is 16+. You also need to have a discord account. You can post it with your audition or wait till you've been casted to get in contact.
This will be a long term project, so do not audition if you will not be able to consistently participate. We will likely not enforce hard deadlines for line turn ins, but if someone were to become unresponsive, or consistently hold up the project, their roles will recasted.
We are also holding auditions through our server as well https://discord.gg/tvXXxMcxH4
When you are logged in, you can comment, add submissions, create projects, upvote, search open roles, and way more. Login here.
DEMIBOY (HE/THEY) Hominid object from Center Ring. Spool is stuck with Citrus, who is making him hunt other objects for his survival. Spool isn't sure how to feel about his survival partner, but often makes it clear that he's displeased with the situation.
We're looking for something kind of Scott Pilgrim. Mid to high young adult male, kind of dramatic/awkward.
- male adult
- neutral
- nonbinary
- male young adult
- androgynous
(Worried)“...I’ve never seen it rain like this before. I hope our stuff on the roof is okay…”
“And if you’re a fruit bat, is it because you’re gay? Or because you eat gays? Or is it because you’re an orange? Just to be clear, you think I’m attractive?”
MALE (HE/HIM) Bestial object from The Night. His diet consists solely of souls, which he takes from other objects in order to survive. On the surface Citrus is charismatic and inviting to lure victims, but takes on a colder, more cunning persona around his survival partner.
Citrus should have suave and confident voice, on the deeper side. He should be able to go between a range of flirtatious to intimidating as these are the most prominent aspects of his character. Not a voice claim but Dio Brando is probably a good reference.
- male adult
(Serious)“Here’s the deal. I kill other people. You help, or I kill you. And when you fail, I eat some of you. As much as I desire. We start tomorrow.”
(Irritated)“I’m not carrying your gargantuan, grown, fat fucking ass ten miles to refill some water bottles.”
FEMALE (SHE/HER) Bestial object from Outer Ring who needs to respawn her friend Fuzzball, whose remains are lodged in her head and shell. Razor searches Center Ring for a terminal with her survival partner, Gum.
Razor should a rough/raspy deep feminine voice. Something like Jasper from Steven Universe but maybe younger and not as rough.
- female adult
- female young adult
(Confused/angered/scared)“Even you aren’t normal! Why is center ring so fucked up?! Are you stupid?! Tell me what’s going on or I’ll eat you!”
“She sounded like she wanted to hurt you. I couldn’t go on if you died because of me!”
FEMALE (SHE/HER) Bestial object from Middle Ring. Mushroom has a calm disposition and tries her best to help her best friend Dynamite survive against the odds. Mushroom has a peculiar taste for rot and prefers to eat things past their expiration date.
The voice we had in mind for Mushroom was something more gender neutral. Something between Jax TADC and Raven Teentitans. Kind of scratchy broody teen.
- female teen
- androgynous
“Hate to say it, Dynamite, but since the power went out, this meat’s going bad fast."
(apologetic)“Um, I’m sorry, by the way. You were dying and I wasn’t doing enough about it. I feel so bad…”
MALE (HE/HIM) Bestial object from Middle Ring. After being abandoned by his parents, Dynamite struggles to hunt and survive in his suspiciously empty district alongside Mushroom, his best friend.
Dynamite is silly, very often non serious. He tends to shout alot, please dont peak your mics. Looking for something similar to Miles Morales, but my co director also disagrees with me on that so do with that information what you will.
- male teen
(Playful)“You-! You’re still the same kid that ate all the dirt in the compost bin in third grade, huh?! The dirt and the worms!”
“YOU JUST DON’T LIKE IT ‘CAUSE IT’S FRESH!!! DON’T SAY IT WAS JUST “FINE” THAT WAS A PERSON!!!”
MALE (HE/HIM) Hominid object from Center Ring. Brandy finds himself stuck alongside his cheating ex-husband after the start of the apocalypse, and feels compelled to hold his composure for his daughter despite the hellish new changes to his environment.
Grown ass man. Deeper gruff and serious voice.
- male adult
“It’s hard enough managing day by day. Things are only getting more dangerous… I can’t plan too far ahead.”
(snide)“Yeah. Maybe you should Thank Me for it.”
MALE (HE/HIM) Bestial object from Marshlight Port. Minty finds himself stuck alongside his ex-husband, and struggles to find his footing and prove himself useful as Center Ring rapidly becomes infested.
Minty is trans, and his voice should partly reflect that, sounding a bit scratchy and pubescent. Would prefer for a trans actor to play him.
- male adult
(Fed up)“You know what? Sure. I’ll live with my brother in Marshlight. … And you aren’t invited to come over for Sea of Lights.”
(Scared)“Brandy. Shut up. Don’t. Sometimes, I think that… I can smell home, for just a second, but… It's been hours. I looked outside. It wasn't my imagination. Brandy. We’re going to die here. We need to try and leave.”
FEMALE (SHE/HER) Hominid object from Center Ring. The young daughter of Brandy, Minty, and Maple Syrup. Sugarcube spares herself from reality with the potency of her child-like wonder and fascination with art.
SugarCube is just a little girl, and doesn't say all too much. Her voice doesn't need to be anything specific, just a young girl's.
- child
- female child
“Dad, can I draw chalks outside???”
“Why can’t I eat toasts?”
NEUTROIS (THEY/THEM) Hominid object from Marshlight Port. Painkiller is a registered nurse currently living in the Rings, and aids Fossil with researching parasite morphology in High Society. Despite their career choice, they tend to behave unprofessionally.
As a nonbinary character, their voice can go any way. PK is driven by emotion and that should be reflected in their performance, ideally with a mid to deep range voice.
- neutral
- androgynous
- nonbinary
(Scared)“This is making less and less sense. Why couldn’t you have been a serial killer like a normal person?”
“Aren’t you part gator? Like the farm animal?”
DEMIGIRL (SHE/THEY) Bestial object from Reaching Gardens. Fossil has dedicated their life to correcting errors in the code of respawn terminals after being printed as a defect, and must now utilize her natural talents to study parasite morphology alongside her forum buddy, Painkiller.
Fossil is quasi German? Germany does not exist in Objectified but the way Fossil's dialogue is written suggests she has a German accent. The intensity of the accent is up to you as long as it matches up to the Zs used in their dialogue. She tends to be pretty abrasive, her performance should have an edge to it.
- female adult
- androgynous
(Serious)“Painkiller, are you aware of what's happening outside? Did you take a train through the city without noting a single thing was off?”
(Urgent)“Get off your stupid lazy ass and follow me! There’s no time!”
(Upset)“Bringing you here vas a fucking mistake.”
FEMALE (SHE/THEY) Bestial object from Demon's Diner. Dragonscale is boisterous and snappy. She has a softer, more professional side that fell apart when she lost her wife and job in Center Ring-- Now she's a bandit leader.
DragonScale's voice should be sharp, cocky and intimidating for most of her performances, but also have a soft and small side. Any range would probably be good for her.
- female young adult
- female adult
(Upset)“You’re right… It was so awkward. She must think I’m a total degenerate.”
(Mocking)“Ooh! Raspberry dark chocolate! How’d you know it’s my fave?!”
MALE (HE/HIM) Hominid object from High Society. Originally residing in luxury, Wagyu's been casted to Center Ring after rioters burned down his mansion with his relatives inside. While mostly off-putting due to his attitude, Wagyu begins to scare off survivors for... other reasons.
Wagyu is whiny and privileged. Personally he strikes me as one of the younger adults, and i imagine him with a higher pitched voice. Wagyu goes through alot of particular suffering so keep that in mind as something you'll have to do for him.
- male adult
- male young adult
(Complaining)“But I’m a great partner! I can go weeks without getting hungry now, I think that’s quite an asset! They used to get mad at me for doing the opposite!! And they keep whispering about how I stand around doing nothing! But that’s not true! I’m a hard worker!! I used to work every day! It was a family-owned small business! It really doesn’t get more ethical than that!!”
DEMIGIRL (SHE/THEY) Hominid object from nowhere in particular. Comet is a reserved object that spends a majority of their time wandering the liminal valley in Outskirts. She struggles to confront people after being away from them for so long, avoiding entering regions and their districts at the cost of her health.
Comet if a bit of a mystery. They live alone and most chapters are them simply witnessing the horrors from afar. Imagine a softer gentler voice, not particular pitch in mind.
- androgynous
- female adult
“That thing has been hanging over Center Ring for… More than a month? I don’t count the days… Trains haven’t been coming from anywhere, either… I just want to look a little close.”
SHE/HER - Side character (Very little dialogue in the main comic but is the main character in a bonus comic that we will also be dubbing)
- female young adult
- female teen
"Its just on the other side of the fence. Are your parents chicken monsters?? You're so lame."
HE/HIM - Minor character
- male young adult
(comforting) "It's Ok Sunny! You couldn't have known it was infested."
HE/HIM - Minor character
- male young adult
(sucking up)"You're right Wagyu! By the way, we need someone to keep watch. And you're the only one here who's *brave* enough."
SHE/HER - Minor character
- female young adult
- female adult
"Moving to the rings was my idea DragonScale"
SHE/HER - Side character (pretty reoccurring in flashbacks)
- female adult
(Serious)"It's fine Brandy. She's my kid too. But i can't do it again. I'm... Moving to Fort Blanket. In Silent Neverland. It's for my job."
