[PAID] "NOTES" Original Animated Student Thesis Film [MUSIC COMPOSER WANTED!!]

Project Overview

"NOTES" is a short, animated graduation thesis film that will be produced at California State University Long Beach and completed in the Fall semester of 2022. Since this is a school assignment, the project will be competed regardless if the position is filled. The video linked above is the old rough animatic of the full short that will be changed during official production.

SYNOPSIS

Elementary school teacher Mrs. Helen enforces Silent Sustained Reading time (SSR) but the school children have their own plans and pass around a note of paper in class while evading Mrs. Helen's eye by jumping into the world of books!

The books the children will be jumping into are: "The Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Cat in the Hat, Where the Wild Things Are, Arthur, and Harry Potter." 

DETAILS OF POSITION

PAID POSITION! Prices are negotiable and I send out payments via PayPal in USD. Please audition with samples of your work as well as your rates! I'll be interested in music ranging from original work to fan covers of other kinds of music.

I'm looking for a music composer that can create an original music track for this 2-3 minute short film as well as instrumental excerpt covers of the "Arthur" PBS opening theme song, and "Hedwig's Theme." You do not need to create a cover of the full tracks, just a selected portion of each theme and creative liberties can be taken to spin into your own style, just so long as the melodies are recognizable to general audiences and that the tone fits the style of this film. Further direction and support will be given to the selected candidate.

This is a year-long production commitment! Preproduction of my school's graduation thesis films begins at that start of 2022 with projected completion at the end of 2022. If you are inexperienced with working in film productions, please understand that all assets (such as the music)  are subject to change until the very end!

Once the film is completed, you will be given a proper film credit via the short's IMDb page which will be created after completion. From there, the film will be submitted to film festivals and circulate for 2 years.

    Hello, everyone! Thank you so much for your consideration on “Notes!” In case you haven’t seen it, I’d like to share an album of the film’s character designs! The film will have this cutesy style at the beginning, but each time the school teacher and children jump into a book world, the art style and animation will change to match the world of the designated book.     Hello everyone! Today marks the first day this application is open to all music composers looking to have their work in film/animation! Actual production of the music is not expected to start until the position has been filled, and the position is a year-long commitment as the film is not expected to wrap until Fall of 2022! The animation production will be executed in the style of Disney/Western animation productions, where the animation is created concurrently around the music in hopes of allowing a bit of creative freedom for the composer as well as a space for constant collaboration. This is a less rigid method in comparison to providing a strict animatic to score to. If this sounds more like your style, please apply! Looking for a composer that can write original music as well as compose covers of existing music in their own style! Please apply with:
